It’ll Be a Boy for Amanda Peet

10/10/2014 at 05:15 PM ET

It’ll be a boy for Amanda Peet and David Benioff!

“I’m very excited,” the actress told PEOPLE Thursday, revealing the sex of her third child while supporting the UN Foundation and Walgreens’s Get a Shot. Give a Shot. campaign in Los Angeles.

And she’s not the only one who can’t wait to meet the newest member of the family.

“[My daughters Molly June, 4½, and Frances Pen, 7½] are very excited now,” she said. “We’ll see what happens when he actually arrives!”

As a mother of two already, the actress confessed that this pregnancy has been a bit challenging.

“I’m definitely very tired,” she said. “I’m 42 and it’s my third baby.”

While Peet — who surprised fans with her happy news at the Emmys in August — admits that she “hasn’t given a lot of thought” to the nursery yet, she has been preparing her girls for their little brother’s arrival.

“We talk about it,” she says. “They talk to him and listen to him.”

For every immunization administered at Walgreens pharmacies, Walgreens will donate the value of a life-saving vaccine through the UN Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign; the year-round campaign aims to deliver six million vaccinations to children in need.

Is it just me, or does Jo Frost’s head look twice the size of Amanda’s?

Wonder if she knows the flu vaccine causes an increased risk of stillbirth. I’d rather suffer with the flu.

Flu itself is more dangerous to women than the vaccine! back in 2009 with the swine flu most of people who died were pregnant women… at least here in Brazil flu shots are against the H1N1 also… having lost an aunt for that virus, I get the shots every year! specially since like my late aunt, I also work in hospitals…

Yeah! I’m glad she gets to experience having a boy, too. Congrats.

Actually pregnant women SHOULD be getting the flu vaccine. The flu can be much more severe in pregnancy. In addition, getting the flu vaccine while pregnant actually protects the baby with flu antibodies up to 6 months after birth. Pregnant women should not receive the nasal version, but the vaccination is safe and encouraged in pregnancy. They have studied this for over 15 years in over several thousands of pregnant women, no untoward effects to baby.

I actually only have gotten the flu shot when I’ve been pregnant. Getting the flu when pregnant can be extremely dangerous to both mother and baby.

Awww, she’ll get to experience both sexes now! As an aside, I just got my flu shot yesterday and, needless to say, I chuckled a bit when I saw this article. Talking about ironic timing!😉

If her kid is autistic I wonder if she’ll blame the flu vaccine. Can’t stand her.

She looks like that ugly Lea Michele. Blah!

JL- Considering she’s pretty much as pro vaccine as they come (and has seen what can happen when you don’t get vaccinated- her younger daughter contracted whooping cough around the age of four months, before she was able to get all of her DTaP shots), I seriously doubt it!😉
