Roselyn Sánchez ‘Obsessed’ with Teaching Daughter to Dance

09/22/2014 at 09:00 AM ET

Roselyn Sánchez‘s big break came as a dancer on the Puerto Rican variety show Qué Vacilón — so it’s no surprise the Devious Maids star is introducing daughter Sebella Rose to the dancing world at a young age.

“I’m obsessed with Sebella having some kind of dance background,” the actress, 41, told PEOPLE while at a Pampers‘ event at The Grove on Sept. 9.

“She doesn’t need to be a professional dancer, but I want her, as part of her life, to be able to have a dance foundation.”

And it’s already paying off.

At 2½-years-old, Sebella’s booked her first gig: She busted out some of her moves at the event in Hollywood, which was held to promote a new nationwide dance campaign for kids, sponsored by the diaper brand.

“It’s called #BabyGotMoves,” Sánchez explains. “They want kids, when they first get up in the morning and they’re dry, to celebrate and just dance like crazy and use the crib as a dance floor.”

While Sebella definitely seems to have inherited her mom’s moves, Sánchez admits most people think she takes after her soap star dad, Eric Winter.

“Everybody thinks that she looks like my husband,” the proud mama says, adding, “there’s moments that I look at her and see pictures of me as a child and go ‘Oh my God, it’s a little mini me!’ ”

The child’s right eye is going in to far. Guess she’s too busy pushing her to dance, to even notice…she’s a cute little girl..

There’s a difference between exposing your kid to dance and letting her discover is she likes it or not AND “pimping” her out and making money on her at such a young age! Yikes! Let her grow up a little and make her own decisions!!

This woman sounds beyond annoying. Already a freaking stage mom. The worst of the worst.

Lollipop on

I can notice that this woman had like 10 face plastic surgeries only by watching her child.

I met her hubby at Boston Pizza when he was filming some made for TV movie in Alberta. He was a rude jerk.

@Sherron – I don’t know who this person is and we may even see eye to eye on her parenting priorities, but when it comes to the girl’s eye, the mother may very well be covering the strong eye with a patch to strengthen the ”lazy’ one. To see the results of patching takes time. And it’s a relatively mild case of strabismus/lazy eye so surgery is usually not recommended.

She is a beautiful actress, but clearly the child looks like her husband.

Well, I guess we all have different parenting styles and priorities. At 2 1/2 I just think there are a lot of things much more important than having a strong dance foundation in life. I hope spending time time with her daughter and reading to her are 2 of her top priorities. Reading to a child very early in life is important in our home, but like I said different styles. Dance…… maybe #5 or #6 on the list.

“She doesn’t need to be a professional dancer, but I want her, as part of her life, to be able to have a dance foundation.” Kay, did you miss that part? And how is she “pimping her out” because she showed her picture, just as many other celebs do–show a pic of the child that they choose, so fans can see what their child looks like (individual decision and it’s okay either way– and frankly, I didn’t get from this article that Roselyn was demanding that her daughter dance until she drops, and “no books for you, young lady!”, at all. Culturally, she wants to expose her to dancing. You would do the same. Do you people just wake up Monday morning hating anyone and everyone who is on a celeb site? Then don’t comment! Agh! Beyond rude! Whatever these people said or did isn’t worse than the comments on here except for Ella’s. Have a cup of coffee and calm down, everyone….
