It’s her cutest design yet!

Rebecca Minkoff and husband Gavin Bellour welcomed their second child on Monday morning, the designer tells PEOPLE.

“We are beyond thrilled to announce the arrival of our beautiful and healthy baby girl, Bowie Lou, who was born naturally at 9:13 a.m. on August 4th,” the couple tell PEOPLE.

“She is perfect in every way and our hearts are full of love.”

“Welcome Bowie Lou Bellour! 8 lbs., 2 oz.! #happymonday,” the new mom captioned a photo introducing her sleeping newborn baby girl on Instagram.

Minkoff and Bellour are already parents to 2½-year-old son Luca Shai, who, the fashion designer joked, had nicknamed his baby sister Gouda.

In June, the couple were showered with love during a whimsical baby bash. “I have more energy, which I’m surprised about, [but] I’m not as nervous because I know exactly what’s going to happen,” Minkoff said of her second pregnancy.

Interesting that she felt the need to announce that her baby was born naturally. Beautiful little one!

Bowie Lou? Poor kid.

Beautiful baby

Really terrible name

Baby hipster names. Especially the new babies name.

I think the nickname the brother gave, Gouda, is better than Bowie Lou. Are they possibly big David Bowie fans.

That is an 8 pound 2 ounce baby. Wow, my son was exactly 8 pounds and looked so skinny compared to her. Amazing how every baby can be different with the same weight.

Sara, I loved your competition comment. That is very true. If you did this certain thing, someone ALWAYS had a harder situation. How about you gave birth. Period. It doesn’t matter if you gave birth in a truck, with no drugs, hooked up to every drug imaginable or were cut open both times like I was, the main point is to have a baby and hopefully everything turns out in a safe and healthy way.

thats a ridiculous name, especially for a girl.luca sounds better for a girl and bowie sounds better for a boy.

AWWW, what a cutie! And as for the natural birth comment, perhaps she was worried she wouldn’t be able to have a natural birth and is proud of herself for making through without drugs?

What a crap name. SMH.

“Naturally”, verses what? She should just have posted “organically”. Whatever! Crazy!!

Why do some parents give their kids such awful names that the poor child needs to walk around with a baseball bat to fend off bullies? And hello, I used pain medication but gave birth naturally, thank you, they meant vaginally and if you are so proud of yourself don’t use anesthetic for your next root canal!

What a gorgeous little smoosh! Personally I absolutely love the name, and think Luca and Bowie are super cute together.
At the risk of being shot down, I have to admit I kind of get the whole ‘announcing a natural birth’ thing… personally I think if I’d gone through an entire labour and birth drug-free I’d be pretty bloody stoked with myself. That’s not to say that every single mother shouldn’t feel immensely proud of herself for going through the incredibly intense process of giving birth, however they choose to go about it, because they absolutely should, I’m just saying that I understand why a woman who gives birth with no medical intervention might feel a particular sense of achievement, and it’s okay to be proud of yourself. JMO. I don’t think any ‘way’ of giving birth is right or wrong. But I understand Rebecca’s choice to announce like this. Anyway, congratulations to the Bellour/Minkoff family! Beautiful news :)

Cute name. LOVE her sweet, chubby cheeks.

Awwww. Cutie!

Okay so is “naturally” the new vaginally. It kills me what people will say just to prove they are tough and have a step above the next. I’m glad the little girl was healthy, I believe that’s what matters…she is lovely!

It’s a cute name. Congrats to them!

Get the barley water out and quiet during the birth please !!!!

Such a shame because I truly love her designs. :(

Cutie pie!! But Bowie Lou.. really?? Ok then..

SarahJane77 on

Cute kid. Stupid name.

FWIW, naturally generally means a vaginal unmediated birth. I don’t think it was really necessary to throw that in there. It doesn’t really matter how the baby was delivered as long as both mama and baby are healthy. But these are the days of the Mommy Wars. I, personally, am proud of how I had both my children, but I don’t generally share unless asked.

I love me some fat babies!!!!
