What’s Kristen Bell’s Secret to Balancing Fitness and Family Time?

When it comes to fitness, Kristen Bell keeps it in the family.

“My go-to workout is usually hiking,” Bell, 33, told PEOPLE at the American Express Epic EveryDay Getaway with Soul Cycle in New York on Friday.

And while the actress does a lot of hiking with friends, her cutest exercise companion is 15-month-old daughter Lincoln.

“I often will strap the baby to my chest for the hike,” Bell says. (Maybe Lincoln’s the secret behind the first-time mom’s amazing body after baby?)

With her busy work schedule, Bell notes combining fitness and family time with Lincoln and husband Dax Shepard, 39, has become an effective (and enjoyable!) solution.

“[Hiking] is easy because sometimes it doesn’t actually take me away from anything because my whole family’s coming on the hike,” Bell says.

As for her growing little girl, Bell’s still smitten. “She’s delicious. It’s such a fun age,” she says. “I feel like having a toddler is exhausting and extremely rewarding — and far more rewarding than exhausting.”

I really like this girl. Seems very down to earth and smart.

Lovely lady :) Fitness is important and even solo fitness has a place, but nice and refreshing that she makes spending time with her family a priority for her. She seems so down to earth!
