The latest addition to the Wolf pack is swaddled in pink – and Lucy Marie is already throwing her dad for a loop.
“Lucy is only a few weeks old so it’s hard to wrap my head around it,” Scott Wolf, who recently welcomed his third child (and first daughter!) with wife Kelley, tells PEOPLE.
“I always knew that I wanted to be a father and that it would be the most meaningful experience in my life. I never put a whole lot of thought into boy vs. girl. The fact that Lucy was a girl is so brand-new in its own way that it’s made our third feel like our first all over again.”
Having just celebrated 10 years with his wife, a life coach, the Perception star tells PEOPLE she’s “an incredible partner and mother” to sons Jackson Kayse, 5, and Miller William, 19 months, as well as their newborn daughter.
“Once we knew we were having a girl, it felt like it completed our family in the most perfect way,” Wolf, 46, says. “Very few things render me speechless and Lucy truly has.”
Although the addition of Lucy is opening new doors for the Wolf family, in other ways, parenting is old hat by now.
“The third time around you realize how resilient they are. Each time I’ve been a little more relaxed,” the Night Shift guest star admits. “I think I would have been completely overprotective of a girl if we had her earlier. The fact that we had her third has me feeling a lot more secure. We know how to keep kids alive around here!”
Perception returns for its new season June 17 at 10 p.m. on TNT.
