Marriage — and a baby carriage!

Debbie Matenopoulos is expecting her first child and got married last summer, she confirms to PEOPLE.

“I eloped in Greece and I’m four months pregnant!” she said on Thursday.

A regular on Home & Family and an original co-host of The View, Matenopoulos started dating her photographer husband Jon Falcone, 36, two years ago after meeting through mutual friends.

They decided to get married while shooting for her upcoming recipe book, It’s All Greek to Me in Greece. This is her second marriage.

“We had a secret eloping ceremony at a title monastery. I’ll do a proper wedding after I have the baby,” she says.

Matenopoulos, 39, is holding off on finding out the sex of her baby and is embracing her appetite.

“I don’t know if I want to know or not. I’ve already had three ultrasounds and I’m due in October,” she shares. “I’m not craving anything per se, but I have become ravenously hungry. I’d wake up in the middle of the night and chug orange juice and I’ve never liked orange juice! I’m a monster.”

Matenopoulos will return to The View as a guest on Monday and will also join the other hosts for Barbara Walters‘ farewell show on May 16.

“I owe [Barbara] everything. It’s truly the end of an era and I’m really excited to share this with her,” she says.

Συγχαρητήρια! That’s awesome. How I’d like to be married as well. :)

I think it is amazing when people can hold off waiting to find out if the baby is a girl or boy. I am obnoxiously patient, but during my two pregnancies, I wasn’t. I wanted to know the second I saw the two little lines on the pregnancy stick. I didn’t care one way or the other, but it was so nice for me to go from I’m having a baby, to I’m having a son, and then the last few months saying this is my son Justin and I can’t wait to meet him.

I hope she has a healthy and wonderful pregnancy and enjoys the moment. I miss the feeling all the time.

I liked her and Catt Sadler on the DAILY 10 on E!. She was funny funny. I miss seeing her on tv. I wish her the best with her husband and baby.

Congrats!!

But when she said, ” I’ll do a proper wedding after I have the baby,” I can’t help but think who cares at that point? LOL! You’re married, you have your baby, just enjoy life, don’t feel pressure to have a reception.

@Katie, you are obnoxiously adorable. People come on here so often to be mean and talk about how their way was better and you’re little paragraph was so sweet :)

Funny, I don’t know why you WOULD want to find out what you are having….I did not want to know the whole time I was pregnant with my little boy—-it was the best surprise in the world! And one of the few surprises left in life. To do it again, I would not want to know for the life of me. It was so much fun to speculate and just wonder about the whole thing.

Congrats to Debbie and her husband!

I had to click on the article just to figure out who she was, congrats whoever you are!

@KellyGreen – you took the words right out of my mouth.. especially when this is her second marriage?! I’m sure she had all the frills the first time around – be happily married with a baby this time around. I enjoyed her on the View all those years ago, congrats!

Ashley, I figured it was a surprise whether it was discovered at birth or half way in the pregnancy. I think it is wonderful when people wait, I just loved the idea of saying “how is my little boy/girl today” during my pregnancy and then eventually referring to them by the name we decided upon before their birth. There is nothing wrong with waiting to find out, and there is nothing wrong with finding out. It is a personal preference and one I don’t regret at all.

Ashley- I’m with you! To me, finding out the sex of a baby before birth is like opening your presents before Christmas. Plus, I’d be nervous that the ultrasound would turn out to be wrong (yes, I am aware that there is a new blood test available that can tell gender and is extremely reliable, but I wouldn’t have it. I feel it’s unneccesary unless you’re of advanced maternal age or otherwise at high risk of having a baby with abnormalities). ;)

Anyway, congrats to the happy couple!

Why would you elope and then say- I’ll do a proper wedding later? Your already married- I would think you’d just have a big reception later- after the pregnancy. I get it that she got pregnant- but why get married again later on?

I see her now and then on Home & Family. Her segments on there are always helpful, down to earth projects you can actually do or follow. I’ve always liked her, very positive and upbeat.

You’ll hate orange juice pretty soon, especially in the middle of the night or before a nap, because then you wake up with the worst heartburn. Ha! Anyways congrats! Being pregnant is tough, but it’s also a lot of fun.
