Kevin Rahm is gearing up for his greatest role ever: dad!

The Mad Men actor is expecting a daughter with his wife, cardiothoracic surgeon Amy Lonkar Rahm, he revealed Saturday on Twitter.

“Oh yeah … This is happening,” Rahm, 43, Tweeted, along with a fun mock movie poster that reads, “Starring together in It’s A Girl!”

According to the cute announcement, the couple’s first child is “coming this September.”

In addition to his role as Ted Chaough on the hit AMC series, Rahm is also known for playing Lee McDermott on Desperate Housewives and Kyle McCarty on Judging Amy.

The Surviving Jack star and Lonkar were married in April 2012.

Mazel Tov! Hope you and your Amy have an easy and joyful pregnancy. How nice to create a human being. I wish for you all the love my family brings to me.

Congrats! And bring Ted Chaough back to MM and Peggy Olson. Last we heard he was headed to California.

What about his stint on Judging Amy as Cousin Kyle? Which happened before Desperate Housewives.

What a fun way to announce a pregnancy. And their picture is beautiful!

He ruined Judging Amy ! I’ll never forget. Bug eyes and all. Hope he’s too not prominent in upcoming finale seasons. 😦

I guess Mazel tov instead of congrats – I didn’t know he was Jewish –

Congratulations! Based on the couple’s announcement, the mother to be uses her married name Rahm and not her maiden name as she was identified with in the article. It is ok, People magazine, to identify the parents to be as both having the same last name!!!

Nikki, it is highly common for women who graduated medical school and started practicing BEFORE getting married to use their maiden names legally for practicing purposes. At that point all medical licenses and diplomas would be under a maiden name and it’s a pain to prove your identity and marriage to the various medical licensing board. The same thing happened to me.
