Take five — Neal McDonough is a dad again!

The actor, 48, and his wife Ruvé welcomed their fifth child, a son, on Monday, March 31, his rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

Born in Los Angeles, James Hamilton weighed in at 9 lbs., 9 oz. and is 22 inches long.

He joins sisters Clover Elizabeth, 2½, London Jane, 4, Catherine Maggie, 6½, and brother Morgan Patrick, 8.

“They weren’t complete until they literally had a handful,” McDonough’s rep tells PEOPLE, adding that the couple announce their happy news “with pride.”

“Big brother and sisters welcomed their newest addition with open arms and loads of hugs and kisses.”

While the arrival of James just about evens up the family gender divide, McDonough would have been equally thrilled with another daughter.

“My son Morgan and I will be in the McDonough House of Estrogen, but we wouldn’t have it any other way,” the actor joked to PEOPLE in 2011 while announcing his wife’s fourth pregnancy.

There will never be a dull moment at their home!

Congrats! He has a creepy yet sexish face.

Yikes how old is his wife?

Tara on

It’s fun to google photos of him and his wife she seems as if she is always pregnant! Kind of cute. Congrats to both of them!

Callie on

Congratulations! He’s a great character actor; just love him.

For Scooter – you’re just rude.

Because maybe unlike you, they love kids. Nothing wrong with wanting a lot of kids, or no kids. But it’s their decision, and their household. 48 is not as old as it used to be. I’m sure he can still be a loving and supportive parent, even when he’s 70.

Ellsworth on

You can love kids and still not think it’s appropriate to have a child at 48 or to have 5 children. We have way too many people on this planet already.

Jen on

Congrats! Blessing to this family. I have 4 kids, my mom had 5 kids, so what. If you can afford them, have them, jeez. Some of us actually like children.

These kids’ names are all over the place. Morgan, Catherine, and then we have London, then Clover, now James. What the hell?

He was ridiculous on the Desperate Housewives show.

Oh yes, at 48 what is he thinking procreating? He’s just a well-established, wealthy, married man who apparently loves children. He can provide for them. All the 20 year olds barking about his age (and his wife), can you say the same? Then shut it up. So sick of the age-related discriminatory statements made on these boards lately. Nobody knows how much time they have left on this planet.

Congratulations! I bet their house is SO much fun and full of laughter. 🙂

What a happy, busy, fun filled, chaotic family. My daughter & son in law have 5 kids, I understand. Kids are great! Like Dana Carvey says, kids are the best thing to happen to you, and the most difficult things to happen to you.

The baby is so adorable. Congrats!
