It’ll be a girl for Christina Aguilera!

The singer confirmed her pregnancy for the first time publicly and announced the sex of her baby on the way on stage Friday in Malaysia, where she performed.

Aguilera, 33, and fiancé Matt Rutler are indeed expecting a daughter, PEOPLE confirms.

The Voice coach and her beau, a film producer, announced their engagement in February.

Aguilera is already mom to son Max Liron, 6, from her previous marriage to Jordan Bratman.

Just Jared was first to report the news.

This baby is going to be so much cuter than her son.

Jenno on

I wonder if the baby will be orange like the mother or white like the dad. Mixed babies are always the cutest.

JAS on

Yawn. Another self-absorbed celebrity spawning.

Chloe on

So happy for her! I’m sure the baby will be beautiful.

I tht this time it would be a girl as she sang on her back to basics cd on the song “the right man”

Wonderful news. She is going to have such a pretty little girl! As a mom of two girls, I can say that life isn’t complete until you get to experience having a daughter! All the very best to Christina and Matt.

Juli on

Now she has one of each! Congrats, Christina and Matt!

Quit living your pathetic loser lives through stupid self absorbed celebrities. Live your own life and be proud of it.

Sara – so.. it takes GIRLS to live a “complete” life???? Ask your hubby – bet HE isn’t so thrilled!!!! EVERY man on Earth, whether they admit it or not, wants a son….

Laura on

Sara- I totally agree with you! Every woman wants a daughter- whether they’ll admit it or not (looking at you ‘susan’) and anyone who says differently is just plain envious… but let them be! We’re the lucky ones 🙂

Laura on

If all you daughterless mothers out there really felt “complete” then you wouldn’t feel the need to defend yourselves on here! EVERY mother on Earth wants a daughter, whether they admit it or not! (Susan). Good for Christina and Matt!

I can honestly say I felt complete when I finally had my little girl after my 2 sons. There’s nothing like that bond!! Congrats to them for getting the best of both worlds.

Isabel on

Laura, how shallow your life must be if you value having a daughter that highly. I’m a mother to two girls and a boy and my relationship with my daughters is no more special than my relationship with my son. Then again, I’m not a fool who thinks that being the same sex as a child ensures a close bond or that every woman must be falling over themselves to have a daughter.

Nichole on

That is fantastic, maybe one day she can share with her the whole “Steak and BJ” day thing she invented.

Vanessa on

As someone who has given birth to a daughter after sons, I’m disgusted how many of you insinuate that boys are consolation prizes. Having a daughter was not anymore special than when I gave birth to my boys. They are people, not genders. Get a clue, morons.

Kate on

Now she has one of each a girl and a boy. Perfect!

Cherie on

Girls are better 🙂

I feel my bond with my daughter is very different from my bond with my son- not better, but definitely different! There are so many things I can share with her and I look so forward to the future!! I think it’s really special to have one of both and to experience both sides. I’m lucky!

Terri on

That’s going to be a beautiful baby. Congratulations to them.

Happy for her, congrats!

I think that her having another child is amazing. Congrats Christina and Matt. Besides she didn’t really care if she was having a boy or a girl she just wants the baby to be healthy . And now that she is going to have a daughter she can give her some of the lessons in life she has learned and pass some of her clothes and when she gets old enough her giant stilettos.
We all know that WORDS CAN’T BRING HER DOWN.

virginiamassey on

She originally said she doesn’t care about boy or girl she just wanted the baby to be healthy. But now she can pass some of the things she learned as a girl down to her daughter and hopefully her AMAZING BEAUTIFUL VOICE. Congrats to Christina and Matt and I think that they are going to have an amazing life together as a family with them Max and the baby.
