Daniela Ruah Welcomes Son River Isaac Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic

There’s a new little guy on the set of NCIS: Los Angeles!

Daniela Ruah and fiancé David Olsen welcomed their first child, son River Isaac Ruah Olsen, on Monday, Dec. 30, the actress confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

“He’s healthy and strong, which is all we could ask for,” Ruah, 30, tells PEOPLE. “We are so happy, so thankful and feel so blessed to have brought him into the world.”

Ruah and Olsen met on NCIS: Los Angeles, where she plays Special Agent Kensi Blye. Her fiancé, a former Navy SEAL, acts as a stunt double for his younger brother Eric Christian Olsen on the CBS drama.

The couple had announced the pregnancy in September.

“I’m so thrilled about this new chapter as a parent with David,” she told PEOPLE at the time.

“It’s amazing how in love I am with this little person I’ve only seen on a black and white screen. I’m starting my own family and there is no other feeling like it.”

Love her and so happy it happened so soon so she can get back to work before long. Bring baby along… his uncle is after all on the set too so it is a family affair. Really enjoy the show and chemistry between all in the cast.

Glad they don’t have her make out with Eric on-screen. Would be awkward given she is with his brother.

So sweet – I wonder if her eye condition is genetic though?

Now they have the bris- congrats and mazel

Jim – some people don’t like the notion of a junior. I, for one, prefer when children have their own names and not recycled names to the point where you yell the name “Robert!” in a house and four men come running. Some families like the tradition and that’s nice, but most of the people I know detest the idea of a junior – especially the fathers! They want their children to have their own names and own identities.

Can’t wait to see a picture! Love NCIS: Los Angeles, and Kenzi and Deeks are both great in their roles…how nice they have boys so close together; hope they are the best of friends growing up. She looked great while pregnant!

brandywine, her eye condition is actually a birth mark, i believe. at least, that;s what i think i read somewhere.

I’m glad she kept the Portuguese tradition of giving the baby both parents’ last names. The name is very nice, too!

Muitos parabéns! Tudo de bom para os três :)

Way to go, Daniela Ruah! Considering my apparently terminal crush on you, however, I honestly (like, kidding) you should have at least named the young cat after MOI! Haha!

I should add that now McKenzie has a “terrorist threat” in the house no less that may need the attention of the real NCIS. Wait until the little guy hits two.

@Jim: EVERYTHING is wrong with David Olsen Jr. I wish parents would stop naming their kids after their very much alive fathers. If you want to pass a family name, well put it as a middle name, but give your son his own first name, his own identity, and not just copy/pasting his fathers name as if he was his property. Juniors are lazy and lack thought.

Congratulations Daniela and David! Seeing that first smile, hearing him say their first word, take hi first step – it’s all so magical. I am now experiencing the joy of seeing one of my daughters become a mother and see the same love in her eyes for her children that I have for mine. Welcome to life’s most amazing journey!

It’s difficult to find educated people in this particular
topic, but you seem like you know what you’re talking about!
