Get ready, world, there’s another future Wimbledon champ on the way — Roger Federer and his wife, Mirka, are expecting their third child.

The couple, who wed in April 2009, are already parents to 4-year-old identical twin girls.

“Mirka and I are very happy to share the news that Myla & Charlene will be big sisters in 2014! Happy Holidays,” Federer, 32, announced via Twitter Tuesday.

The tennis star is a doting dad to his daughters.

“It’s an amazing feeling to be called a dad,” he told PEOPLE shortly after the twins were born. “I take a lot of pride in that title.”

“I’m hands on as much as I can because every day is something new and something different,” he said. “I don’t want to miss anything.”

the chance that this child or children will be a Wimbledon champ is extremely small, so the lead to this story is inane. even so, “a Wimbledon champ on the way” would have made more sense than “future Wimbledon champ.”

I always thought that that girl really scored getting Roger Federer, she’s a 4-5 at the best of times and he’s definitely an 8. Lucky, lucky girl.

congrats

Anonymous, perhaps Roger’s not as shallow as you.

Anonymous who commented on his wife’s looks you should be ashamed of yourself. Beauty isn’t only on the outside. I can tell you’re ugly.

At least he didn’t pull a Andy Roddick and marry a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model

Isabel, the fact is that most people are attracted to others of the same level or greater attractiveness. She must be a wonderful person of course, but there is still that initial attraction before you get to know a character of a person that is based on pure physical attributes.

Congratulations!!

Well to be quite honest as a tennis enthusiast I don’t find this good news at all. To me this is Roger’s final goodbye kiss to his career. Good luck going back to the top three and staying there with a set of little twin girls and a brand new born crying baby (maybe also twins) who won’t let him sleep. The pressure of having a pregnant woman on tour, and parading around the world with a huge entourage and a crazy amount of luggage.

This guy should ground himself and stop thinking he is superman and that he can have it and do it all, realistically it’s not the case to anyone.

And honestly what a lack of common sense getting pregnant at this point.

I find it extremely selfish to even consider it at Federer’s toughest career point, this is the last thing he needed.

And to announce it on Christmas Eve! Whose idea was it?! What a low blow, it also seems selfish and media thirsty.

Mr. Fed should just retire and go around as a celebrity as he seems to enjoy so much the spot light and the media attention. And go as the soup star he is trying to pass as.

He is making too much emphasis on his personal side and talking a lot about his private life and the fact that he is making headlines as something else than a tennis player, is very suspicious and concerning, is like he’s trying to pavement his retirement road.

All together, what a disaster. Sad news for the tennis world. Goodbye Federer.

Congrats to them both! What a bunch of mean comments. If I were famous I would never read the comments. So many rude judgmental words for people you dont know!

He needs to retire. How long can his family circle the globe with him, and why should they since his career is over?

Jenna on

First of all, I tink they make a lovely couple. Secondly, what is up with all the mean comments??? Also, I have never been a Federer fan,but he seems to be a devoted husband and father and I respect him for that. God bless you and your lovely and beautiful family. He has obviously found a great love that means more to him than tennis.

This is another pic of her around when or after they married in 2009. She was pretty here: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20271923,00.html

Hey Gia, tennis fan or not I don’t think you are an expert on how he should live his life. Perhaps making a family and his personal life is more important to him than a job.

Gia – aren’t you just full of joy and light! sheesh, take a painkiller and go have a lie down.

As for his wife not being pretty or not, how can you tell from one photo that was taken when she was pregnant, with twins? Besides, if a relationship was only based on looks then celebrities would never divorce!

Isabel on

Anonymous, he could have found her attractive at first glance just as you’re suggesting. He’s not Adonis and she’s not an ogre.

As for the few concerned with his career, don’t be. Even if he never wins another title, he’s set financially and being with his family is something that’s obviously important to him and that he enjoys.

Gia – Wow, are you for real?

Seriously Gia? I thought I read it all until your comments.

Eeww wifey is ugly x 100.

She looks like shrek.

My poor eyes!

Congrats to Fed. His wife is three years older and I doubt if the would want to wait much longer. She will be 36 when the baby is born. Federer is very ground and unselfish. He sure has his priorities right and long after his tennis days, his sweet family will remain.
