For Megan Fox, the nose knows — especially when she’s pregnant.

The actress — who is currently expecting her second child with husband Brian Austin Green — is the new face of Avon’s Instinct fragrance and admits much of her sudden sensitivity to smells is due to her baby on the way.

“I can smell everything! I usually can smell foul scents, I pick them up from far away,” Fox, who is also working on Avon Foundation for Women’s global social media campaign, #SeeTheSigns campaign, which will educate the public on recognizing signs of domestic violence, tells PEOPLE.

“[Brian’s] constantly saying, ‘I don’t smell that, you are crazy, that’s not in the house,’ and I’m saying, ‘I promise you, it is somewhere.'”

While her second pregnancy has been “easier,” there is one new milestone for the mom-to-be: preparing the couple’s 14-month-old son Noah Shannon to be a big brother.

“We are trying to explain it to him and I always say, ‘The baby is going to say, “Wah, wah, wah,”‘ because he is not communicating yet [so] I’m not sure how much he understands,” Fox, 27, explains. “I know as far as everything else goes, he’s really aware. So I think he has an idea, but I don’t think he understands that a baby will be living with us all of the time — that will be an adjustment.”

But until his younger sibling arrives, the toddler has been busy soaking up time in the spotlight. “He loves to be the center of attention and I also think he is a really sensitive child,” Fox says.

“I think that he’s going to be a nurturer. It’s a lot to expect, but he’s only 14 months now. I think he’s going to be an amazing big brother with time.”

Adds Green, “He is either going to be great or … he’s going to be completely against it and it will be a battle.”

I don’t know how big of celebrities these two are but it is nice that they seem to stay out of the spotlight that I even forgot she was pregnant. She looks great for being 7 months pregnant!!

Lisa- Where did you hear that she’s seven months pregnant?

Anyway, does anyone else find it strange that Noah isn’t communicating yet? At 14 months, he should be saying at least a few words, I would think.

One of my cousins did not talk much until he was almost 4 years old. The the flood gates opened and no one could keep him quiet. My coworker’s grand daughter is intelligent, curious, and barely says more than two words at a time. She just refuses to speak unless she wants to. No developmental problems though.

My daughter was 18 months before she said he first words. None of the doctors seemed to worried about it. Noah may be saying some words though. Megan may have meant that he isn’t able to communicate lots of things but she never said he doesn’t say any words at all.

His screen name has always been Brian Austin Green. When he first started acting, there probably already an Brian Green in the acting business or his agent though Brian Green was too common and therefore chose to go by his whole name.

I absolutely love that they are realistic about Noah being a great big brother. So many times you hear that the child will be, but in reality, you don’t really know. Also, why do people feel the need to find something negative to comment about? I sure would hate if people picked apart everything I said just to bring me down to their perceived level. It shows an extreme lack of self worth and insecurity.

Glad these 2 are still together, I thought it would never last. So good for them.

My father did not speak at all until he was 3, and all of the sudden…BAM! you could not stop him. Everyone thought there was something wrong with him. He was actually a very intelligent man. Also, one of my granddaughers did not speak well until she was 3 and is also quite the chatter box. In due time, Noah will speak, he just does not have much to say right now.

I’m an SLP- for those of you asking if he should be talking yet, there’s a pretty good range of baby’s first words..could be anywhere from 12 months to 18/19 months is usually pretty average…and boys are usually later than girls with this…just genetics. there are exceptions to the rule, but these are the general facts.. Noah’s fine 🙂 Megan looks great!

Does anyone think Megan Fox has had some work done? Don’t get me wrong, I still think she is beautiful…just wondering.

“a baby will be living with us…” A baby already lives with you. You’re having a baby while you still have a baby. You can’t explain anything to him, and he can’t help or nurture or do anything but share his milk source. bummer for him!

The nose knows? Which nose? 2007? 2009? or 2011?

Halo- Noah is 14 months. That’s a toddler, not a baby. Also, “nurturing” can be simply giving hugs and kisses- something toddlers are perfectly capable of doing!

Other anonymous- They refer to him as Brian Austin Green because that’s the name he goes by in Hollywood. It’s no different than, for example, referring to Beyonce’s husband as Jay-Z rather than Shawn Carter, or Willow Hart’s mommy as Pink rather than Alecia Moore.
