It’ll Be a Boy for Soleil Moon Frye

10/16/2013 at 04:00 PM ET

There’s a bootie-ful baby boy on the way!

While stepping in as a guest co-host for The View on Wednesday, mom-to-be Soleil Moon Frye brought a big surprise to the table: the reveal of the sex of her third child.

With all eyes on host Jenny McCarthy, viewers watched as she unwrapped a tiny package and showed off the pair of pastel blue baby shoes nestled inside.

“I’m in a little bit of denial,” Frye, 37, admits. “I can’t imagine a penis growing inside of me, so I keep saying, ‘I think we know … but I’m not sure.’ I was so shocked because I always thought that if you have two of one sex, the statistics are that you’ll have a third of the same sex. So I just thought we’d have three girls. My girls still don’t completely believe it.”

The actress and her husband Jason Goldberg — already parents to daughters Jagger Joseph Blue, 5½, and Poet Sienna Rose, 8 — will welcome their son in mid-February.

“The first couple of times I was so prepared. Now I’m like, ‘Nursery? What nursery? The baby can sleep in our room, right?’ I’ve got to get clothes … We’ve got a million names — I need to get on it,” the Let’s Get This Party Started author recently told PEOPLE.

Aw, yay! That’s exciting.

Really can’t wait to hear the name they come up with.

Brittany on

It will be interesting to see what name she chooses. I’m not a fan of Jagger but I really like Poet! It would be cute if she went with something like Lyric :)

Jess on

AWW that’s great. I like her kids names I am very curious what she will name her little man.

Crystal on

I actually gasped when I read this! Congratulations!!! Such an exciting time in their lives!!!! :) I looooove Punky Brewster!!

LuvLeeRita on

(rolling eyes) Celebrities and their bizarre baby names. Why couldn’t she name her first daughter a pretty name like the second daughter? Jagger Joseph Blue???? Too masculine and so stupid for a girl.

LuvLeeRita on

Oscar Piblitz Humperdink. Should go well with the other names she picked.

soph on

Poet and Lyric? Um, no.

Wonder if she will give her son two traditionally feminine names. Doubt it.

Or even two middle names at all…that trend seems to have passed.

Kristen on

Hey “LuvLeeRita” their first daughter’s name is Poet, the second is Jagger. Way to go there wonder reader. And when they called and asked you what they should name THEIR children, what did you suggest, LuvLee??

maryhelenc on

Aw! Congrats to her!

It is true that normally if you have two of one gender, then generally the third is the same gender as well, I have the three girls to prove it LOL! However, her names are a little out there, I wonder what she’ll call her son. Punky might be nice.

Kristen, why so mean to Luv? She only posted the truth. I guess the truth really does get people mad.

Isabel on

Lovely, it may be true that you don’t like her name choices but it’s also true that Soleil doesn’t care about your opinion.

K on

Gee, anything for a degrading laugh….she is talking about her baby boy fetus…..and she sexualizes it, and says I can’t believe a penis growing inside me…..come on! Grow up!

sheilabeila on

I have 3 girls and had this EXACT reaction when we found out our 4th child was a boy! My husband looked like he had cured cancer he was so proud and I didn’t believe it until our boy was born! lol Congrats to the family!!

That’s an odd statement. My mom had girl, girl, boy. Both my grandmothers had girl, girl, boy. My sister has boy, boy, girl. My best friend has boy, boy, girl. Why would you think a third has to be the same sex as the other two?

Kristen on

No, Lovely 123, the other ditz (you) was not speaking the truth. Just in case you’re not following along with the rest of the class, just as LuvLeeRita was not, here is what Rita said:

“(rolling eyes) Celebrities and their bizarre baby names. Why couldn’t she name her first daughter a pretty name like the second daughter? Jagger Joseph Blue???? Too masculine and so stupid for a girl.”

If Rita had paid attention, just as you Lovely123 are obviously not, Poet is their first daughter but according to Rita it’s the first daughter who has a stupid name. So the first daughter should have a pretty name, just like the second daughter. If that’s the logic LLR is running with then Poet’s name should be similar to Jagger’s.

Understand now?? You’re quite the wonder reader too.

What I can’t imagine is why she would want to name her little girl Jagger Joseph Blue. Awful.

LuvLeeRita on

@Kristen, so I had the order wrong… but the names are still silly. And you Kristen are too sensitive. Lighten up!

Cindy Halpern on

Best wishes to her and her family.

Jessica Simpson said that line months ago on Jimmy Kimmel!

J on

Hey another celeb “I have a penis growing in me” joke. Grow up, Soliel.

Laura on

@J Haha I agree. I’m so sick of hearing that line.

It’s not an odd statement at all. It’s called, odds.

Isabel & Kristen – you two need to get boyfriends or life partners. Actually what you really need I can’t post! Isabel, I never posted I did not like their names. Kristen, you really need to lighten up. Life is too short to be quoting what other people post on People. Take a Chill Pill and enjoy the day.

Mira on

That line is so disgusting.

And her naming choices are among the dumbest in Hollywood. And that says a lot.

soph on

lovely123: Talk about a juvenile response. Take a grown up pill, sweetie. Maybe if you did you’d actually live up to your name.

Isabel, Kristen & Soph; Is there a threesome of the Bitter Babes Club? It’s a post – why all the hostility? Freedom of Speech is still alive in the U.S.A.
