There was something very noticeable missing when Matthew McConaughey squired his wife Camila, in a bright yellow Herve Leger bandage dress, to a polo match on Saturday: their three kids.

“You know, this is the first time [we've taken a trip] without the baby,” Camila observed, referring to their 5-month-old son Livingston.

The pair stepped out on a blisteringly hot sunny day at the Sixth Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park, where the couple’s just keep livin Foundation was also recognized. “It’s very relaxing and exciting. It’s like, ‘No car seat,’” Camila, 30, adds of the kid-free jaunt.

Her husband agrees that it’s almost an odd feeling. “It is [our first time alone since the birth]!” McConaughey, 43, says. “On the plane we were like, ‘Where is everybody?’”

As for the change in dynamic after adding a third child to their brood — the couple are already parents to Levi, 4½, and Vida, 3 — Camila admits there are challenges.

“It’s not that it’s tougher, it’s just that I had my system and now with three I’m still learning my system,” she explains, joking, “I’m taking tips if anyone has them!”

Adds her actor husband, “It’s a colorful house for sure.

And talk about personalities. One thing you don’t know as a parent that I didn’t know beforehand, is how much DNA [matters]. As soon as they’re born they are who they are.”

That’s not to say he doesn’t try to guide his children. “You can shape ‘em — but boy they are very unique and different from each other immediately,” he says. Asked who’s most like him in the brood he says, “Right now there’s a whole lot of me in all of them. “

As for their lone girl Vida, it’s a “honeymoon” between father and daughter. “We’re doing fine,” he says.

Beautiful couple!

Alissa on

So happy for them! Glad Matthew is looking like his normal self again…funny how he lost weight for a role while Camilla was preggo and we all talked about his weight and not hers…hmmm…maybe there is something to be said for that? They both look great and seem so happy!

larsen on

They have the homeliest children ever.

Katie on

She looks beautiful. Matthew still looks too thin. He needs to put on 15 lbs. His thinness takes away from his looks.

There is no reason EVER to insult children. This couple is very attractive and their children are adorable!

What an ugly comment larsen…sounds like you could use some sensitivity training. Hope there aren’t any young ones around you to pick up your brand of announcing your opinion!!! RUDE!!!

Sensitivity training Aunt C??? Really…sounds as though you’re ultra hypersensitive there…lands woman!

Wow, it gets ugly quickly. Freedom of Speech is a right in the U.S.

@ Larsen, if you wanted to draw attention to yourself to make you feel “oh so important” you did!! What an inane comment from such an asinine individual such as yourself…children are children..beautiful in every way, shape or form…they are our miracle and future…you are a pompous ass….

No offense, but the baby is only 5 mos. old and you consider that a long time to wait to go on an out of state plane trip? Date nites, that’s another story.

Beautiful couple, beautiful children! ❤

I do not think Camila is pretty.

dude – eat a cheeseburger, or three.

Derbot, I just believe that these type of comments are how bullying starts. It’s a legitimate concern. If I were ultra hypersensitive I’d never survive reading the ‘insightful’ comments posted on this site ;)

Tina on

He still doesn’t look as healthy and attractive as he used to.

Love this family!!

Jeez, people, it’s an old saying that still holds true, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all!! I understand all about free speech but too many people have either forgotten or were never taught good manners, especially when children become the topic.

Okay, I’m confused about him saying he and Vida are “doing fine”. Why wouldn’t they be doing fine?!
