He’s getting used to the spotlight following a whirlwind year, but according to Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Channing Tatum has been practicing a backseat approach to her pregnancy.

“Channing has been great. He takes the route of no confrontation, just support, saying things like, ‘Do whatever you want! What do you want to eat? I’m going to leave it up to you,'” the Witches of East End actress tells Glamour in its May issue.

But while the actor has perfected dealings with his pregnant wife, the couple’s parenting techniques have yet to be determined. Fortunately, they’ve sharpened their skills with their furry family members.

“Who knows what kind of parents we’ll be? We have two dogs, so we’ve had some practice!” Dewan-Tatum, 32, jokes. “And as soon as this baby comes into the world, Channing and I will figure it out real fast.”

Due in June, the mom-to-be can’t help but marvel at her transforming shape — and count her blessings for a baby’s perfect timing.

“I thought my body was going to change so quickly with pregnancy that I’d freak out. But it was really gradual,” she shares. “There’s a reason women are pregnant for nine months; by the end, you’re ready to have this baby.”

And while she’s unsure as to what awaits the parents-to-be following their first child‘s big London arrival, Dewan-Tatum is up for the challenge.

“I think, ‘How in the world am I going to do all this?’ I have no idea what I’m up against,” she admits. “But I’m as mentally prepared as I can be. It’s an adventure!”

can’t wait to see this baby!!! they are the most adorable couple. channing is amazingly talented, a lot of people don’t realize that because of his good looks and body… but the man is very smart and very talented…she is one lucky woman! i think they will be great parents!

She looks really cute in the pic with the glasses.

Xan on

She’s a beauty! And with that baby face, I never would have guessed she was 32!

Sweet people who will make sweet & wonderful parents! And they won’t be dragging the tot everywhere for the world to see. They both seem calm and reserved and not interested in the entire planet knowing everything they’ve done.

Jenna- you look so pretty and happy. Just thrilled for you and Channing!

Nicole on

Beautiful! Love her

Megan on

she’s really cute 🙂 but i hope she’s joking about thinking she’s ready for a baby because she’s a dog mom!

kim on

shes so cute. of course they will ”figure it out”… all us parents do (well MOST of us)…parenting is a trial and error and every person is different. im sure theyll do great =)

CCex on

She looks great and I’m sure they’ll be lovely parents.

However I do roll my eyes at people who compare having dogs to kids. Not the same. Not even a bit.

Dawn on

Of course you will figure it out. I think you will be wonderful parents!

What is there to figure out. It was solved a long time ago. Parents are idiots and way too many are teaching the very same habits and traits to their offspring. Case closed …… is now your babies house not yours.

As a parent, I find your comment to be offensive JR Jake. I’m sorry if YOUR parent(s) weren’t great but some of us have terrific, well adjusted adult children which is proof of our great work as PARENTS.

She is very pretty but I am not a fan of the teenager style pregnancy pics

Jen on

she is right… will figure it out real fast!!!!!

For people who are annoyed about the dog comment- ease up. When I was pregnant with my first, I thought a lot about how much I’d love her, and what it would be like to take care of her. The only other life I took care of was my pets! You have zero frame of reference and you do realize quickly that it may be a little similar to a dog- its way tougher but more rewarding. People don’t understand until it happens. She’s not an idiot- just not a mother yet.

MommytoanE on

For those griping about the dog comment…notice how it says SHE JOKES? Apparently not. Read closer. Then pick on people. I bet your kids are all bullies and nit pickers like you tho.
The pics are fantastic. I love them. I agree tho, you figure out parenting after you have kids…not before. Before you get these ideas that you will do this and you won’t do that, but in the end, parenting is a day by day thing. Even as a parent to a 10 yr old, I don’t think I’ve figured it all out yet. Heck, I don’t think my mom who’s raised 5 kids has figured it out. Parenting is like life…you take it as it comes and you learn to cope and deal with things as they come. Grats to the happy parents to be.

CCex on

Whether it’s your only frame of reference or not it makes one sound like a clueless fool.

I had pets before kids as well, but was never so naive as to compare the two.

CCex on

Settle down there mommytoanE. Throwing around the word bullying only serves to diminish it’s true meaning. Disagreeing isn’t bullying.

Anonymous on

CCex- No, disagreeing isn’t bullying, but calling someone an idiot or other names is!

And, as emily pointed out, she’s NOT a mom yet, so of course she’s going to be a bit naive!

Anyway, I don’t get the uproar over the dog comment, either. It DOES say she was joking, not being serious, and in some ways having a dog IS like having a kid. My dog, for instance, constantly wants attention, likes to get into things (even though she’s not a puppy!), and doesn’t realize that humans consider going to the bathroom to be a private affair! 🙂

Anyway, I love the pictures! This is a perfect example of a classy bare-belly photoshoot!

Guys, why even bother commenting on comments from trolls like Jr. Jake? That’s what they want, attention. Even this comment could be thought of as being a comment for him. *lol*
I’m so happy for them. Great pictures too. 🙂

Not a huge fan of either, but their marriage seems fun and genuine. Considering the fame roller coaster CT has been on, they seem pretty chill (rather than stunned or put-upon) about the whole thing, which is refreshing. I think they’ll be sweet, fun parents.

CCex: But calling someone a “clueless fool” for making a joking comparison between babies and dogs *does* make you a bully.

And it’s not an inapt comparison. Helpless, needy, unable to (always) effectively communicate. Prone to accidents and inconvenient illness. Easy to love. Desirous of cuddling and lap time… Dogs and babies sound pretty similar to me, if only superficially. OBVIOUSLY the amount of attention and affection they will give their child is exponentially greater than what they have shared with their dogs. I think JDT gets that.

julie on

I don’t like the photoshoot it’s creepy vibe to me.

I’m not bothered by the dog comment she sounds like a really excited mom to be nothing wrong with that. She and her husband seem like really sweet people. I wish them the best.

jenna is amazing. but i will find a way to get channing. just kidding!!
