Tamera Mowry-Housley Welcomes Son Aden John Tanner
Katee Grace

He’s finally here!

Tamera Mowry-Housley delivered a son, Aden John Tanner Housley, on Monday, Nov. 12 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, PEOPLE confirms.

This is the first child for the Tia & Tamera star, 34, and her husband, FOX News correspondent Adam Housley.

Arriving two weeks after his due date of Oct. 30, Aden was born at 9:45 p.m., weighing in at 9 lbs., 5 oz. and is 21.5 inches long.

“Adam and I feel very blessed to finally be holding our son,” the new mom says.

“He is a beautiful miracle, and our hearts are overflowing with love. Thank you to everyone for your love and support. It means so much to our family.”

The actress, who blogged her pregnancy for PEOPLE.com, was more than ready for her baby boy to make his arrival.

“If I have yet to learn patience, my son is in the process of teaching me now,” Mowry-Housley wrote. “I have learned that I am not in control and that he will decide when he comes.”

She and Housley, 40, wed in May 2011 in Napa Valley.

Miss Annji on

I am so happy for the couple. Such a beautiful pair. And I love how the twins are keeping up the family tradition of their kids first names with the letter of their spouses. The twins and all of their siblings names start with “T” for Timothy (Mowery), Tia, “C” for Cory & baby Cree and now “A” for Adam and Aden!. I love the entire family so beautiful inside and out. I was checking her twitter and this site each day to see if the baby had arrived and I guess the name Aden!!! But I spelled it Ayden or Aiden….Anyway 🙂 congrats to the family!!

Lady on

EVERYONE is going to spell the kid’s name the proper way, Aiden… why does Hollywood have to be different?!!

LizzyM on

Jen on November 13th, 2012

EVERYONE is going to spell the kid’s name the proper way, Aiden… why does Hollywood have to be different?!!

Actually, Jen, the “proper” traditional, Irish/Gaelic spelling is Aidan NOT Aiden, which as become so popular (it’s also my son’s name), but who cares? Nonetheless, it is a nice traditional name for a this great couple’s baby. Congrats!!

tee on

Congratulations! So glad to hear the little guy has arrived.

Tiara on

I am so happy for this couple. Tamera is so sweet! I’m sure their baby boy is so cute! Congrats!

Lynette on

What a blessing! Best wishes to mom,dad and baby!

Monica on

Congrats! Love the name. And to Jenn, there is no “proper” way to spell his name. It’s phoenetically correct, so chill out. She could have spelled it a number of ways and it would have been fine.

Farah on

Congrats to the Housley Family!!!!

Krystin on

I was just looking yesterday to see if she had the baby! So happy for them!

Precious on

CONGRATULATIONS to the Mowery/Housley families. I have been waiting, rather impatiently, for this precious baby’s arrival. I found out I was pregnant shortly before Tamera announced her pregnancy and my due date was a few days before hers. It was such a wonderful experience to be sharing similar pregnancy-related issues at the sake time. Although my little one came a couple weeks before my due date, I still felt the desire to continue to watch Tamera’s journey towards motherhood. I fondly remember watching the twins on Sister, Sister and in some ways I’ve grown right along with them!! I couldn’t be happier that Cree and Aden will have an opportunity to grow up as close as their Mothers did. Congratulations and blessings always to the new family.

Sara on

Congratulations!! Love the name ( I sort of have to….my 9 month olds name is Aiden). Can’t wait to hear more about him.

Kathyrn criscola on

Awesome name! Congrats Tamera and Adam!

Lynda on

Many Blessings to this wonderful new family. I love the sister’ reality show. The family seems really intelligent and down to earth. However, I cannot believe her Dr. Let her go to 42 weeks gestation. I watch alot of TV and seen on the baby shows after 40 weeks the Amniotic Fluid starts to decrease and also the Placenta starts to lose its function. I am just so happy that they had a big , healthy baby boy

Sophie on

Sure their baby will be beautiful. I am wondering why so many babies these days are so huge. I am 55 years old and back in my day it was so rare to have babies this size. Now it’s so common.

Fifisunshine34 on

Congrats! Love the name. No baby should stay in the womb 2 wks over, thats dangerous! Glad mommy and Aden are well.

Susan on

Very happy everything turned out well! Enjoy the baby, they grow up very quickly!!

Tieraney on

Glad she finally had that baby, although she was gorgeous during her pregnancy! Aden/Aidan/Aiden is so overused now though. Where I live there are 3 Aidans in my son’s 1st grade class and there were 2 (different kids) in his pre-k!

Tia on

Congratulations! Such a beautiful name and good to see they kept with the tradition…Apparently boys’ names in their family are the same first letter as their dad!

Tatiana on

YAY, Adam & Tamera!!! Sooo happy that your precious little boy has arrived into this world!! Hoping he & Mommy are doing well & are healthy as well. I can hardly wait 2 see pics of both Aden & his little cousin, Cree…they will have sooo much fun & love growing up together!!!

Sara on

Congratulations to Tamera and Adam Housley! I am so happy for you two. I was checking you guys twitter page just about everyday on and after Tamera’s due date just to see if she had given birth. I never done that with any other celebrity. I looove the name Aden! I know you guys are going to be great parents to that gorgeous bigggg baby boy 🙂 I thought he was going to walk out in 1st grade too (lol).

ro90045 on

Congrats, nothing like having a baby for the HOLIDAYS! It makes it memorable and special can’t wait to see the beautiful photos! God Bless!

cmonppl on

As a teacher, I must say that if you choose to spell your kid’s name “differently” then it will always be spelled wrong/pronounced wrong! I hate when people try to be creative with names, just spell it right.

aJ on

Congratulations you two! Blessed be! 🙂

Amy on

Congrats Adam and Tamera 🙂 Love the name!!!

Lisa on

Congrads to the couple. I love the name Aden also. Best wishes to them.

meghan on

There are worse things in life then having to correct people who misspell or mispronounce your name.

Randi on

Congrats Tamera! I hope you were able to stick with the natural birth! If you did I know it was tough but worth it! 😀 . To Everyone else complaining about his name, grow up. Have any of you stopped to think it may be pronounced ah-den? To sound close to his dad’s? Possible …

Cindy on

Congrats to you both take it easy get plenty of rest you will need it

Anonymous on

cmonppl- Not necccesarily. I had a classmate who had a name that normally begins with a C. But she began hers with a K…and neither us students nor the teachers ever had any trouble remembering that!

And even if Adan’s name DOES get misspelled, it’s hardly the end of the world. At worst, he’ll just have to get into the habit of spelling it for people like I do with my last name. 🙂

To all the people saying that it was wrong of Tamera’s doctor to let her go to 42 weeks, that it’s dangerous, etc… As long as the baby is healthy and the womb is still a healthy enviornment for him or her, there’s no reason s/he has to come out the second the 40 week mark has passed.

In fact, most doctors consider two weeks either side of the due date to be perfectly normal for births…which means anywhere from 37 to 42 weeks. I’m sure Tamera was being closely monitered and her doctors would have taken the baby if there were any issues!

I, for one, applaud Tamera’s doctor for not scheduling an induction the second she hit 40 weeks. A due date is just an estimate, and there’s no need to panic if it passes without the baby arriving! Good for Tamera and her doctor for realizing that! 🙂

Anyway, congrats to Tamera and Adam!

kross on

Well said you said exactly what I was thinking but better. The womb is safe and best with no issues to 42 weeks and have heard of going to 44 weeks. I hope she was able to stick with her natural/med free birth. Congratulations!

kristy on

Congrats to this Beautiful Couple. It’s funny, my son who is 4mths to the day older is named Aiden John.

Charli on

Yay for them!!! It’s nice her nephew will have a playmate. It’s nice that both she and her sister grew normal and are happy.

Sam & Freya's Mum on

I like the ring of Aden, far nicer than his older cousin’s name IMO…!

Sue on

Two weeks overdue. Risky. Wonder if she refused an induction. Most OB’s don’t risk patients going past 40+3 wks due to the risk of stillbirth. What a shame if she waited so it could be “natural”, and then just ended up with a 9 lb baby and a cesarean.

Zoe on

Congratulations Tamera and Adam on your bundle if joy! I love the name Aden. I watch your show every week and you and Tia are a joy to watch. Enjoy every moment with your baby
God Bless…

Anonymous on

Sue- Women deliver 9lb+ babies vaginally all the time, so Tamera may very well have still had her natural birth! 🙂 Also, I’m sure she was undergoing non-stress and/or stress tests and the doctors would have induced or done a C-section if they saw any signs of distress!

renata on

Love you Tamera!! you are very sweet. Soo happy for you and Adam. you gonna love motherhood!!
