There’s a baby on the way in May for Nick and JoAnna Garcia Swisher!

The Animal Practice star, 33, and her husband, a baseball free agent who most recently played for the New York Yankees, announced their news on Swisher’s Facebook page Monday.

“We are so excited to finally be able to share our exciting news with you! We are expecting a little Swisher in the spring of 2013,” the couple wrote.

“Words can’t describe how blessed we feel to be expanding our family and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new addition. Your support and kindness has meant so much to us throughout the years and we wanted to personally share the news with you all.”

Following their engagement in 2009, Swisher, 31, told PEOPLE, “I think for the first time in my life, I have a woman who I could not be more proud of. We do such a great job really pushing the other one to do better and I think that’s what you have to have.”

Aw, yay! Congratulations to them. I’ve loved JoAnna since Reba and I’m so excited for them!

(Maybe she can play a pregnant friend of Sara Rue’s character on Malibu Country? Still pulling for her to play Ariel on OUAT, though.)

Nothing would make me happier than if you had a Texas Ranger Baby!

So happy for them. I have loved Joanna ever since she played Cheyenne on ‘Reba’. There’s no doubt in mind that her TV mamma Reba is tickled pink. Congrats. :)

Ashleigh on

Congratulations to them! Not a fan of Nick because of some baseball related comments he has made in the past, but I love Joanna! She was excellent on Reba!

I love her on Animal Practice

Congratulations to Joanna & Nick.

Karma: What kind of asinine statement is that? A “band-aid”?

Alexandra on

@Mari I’m pretty sure they have plenty of money between the two of them.

Anyway, congrats to them!

Karma- with a name like karma haven’t you heard about it…what comes around goes around…don’t make unnecessary comments,

Mari, I’m sure he makes more money in a day than you do in a year…they have plen of money stop being s rude.

yay! on

Aww, I have loved her since she was in Reba and then there was that other show where she played Mia, I can’t remember the name of it, but it was really funny. Looks like the two of them are very happy. Congrats! :)

Love these 2, baby will be a beauty, I think she will have a girl. I hope Nick signs with the Yankees, he is funny and sweet.

Maybe the reason why they decided to get pregnant was because he was let go and her show was cancelled, for positive reasons..now they have free time to really focus on their family, so maybe they thought now was a good time since they both don’t have work commitments. has anyone thought of that? instead of judging them right off the bat. and I’m sure between the two of them they have plenty of money to support their child.

Lia on

I saw her on Watch What Happens Live w/Andy Cohen and John Legend’s idiot girlfriend, and I seriously could not believe Nick would marry someone that stupid and vulgar. Now they’ve procreated. Yuck.

Nick is one of my mlb favorites. He brought fun and life to the Yankees in an otherwise boring team. They are really going to miss his presence both on the field and in the clubhouse. In addition, he is an OSU Buckeye! To me, like Ichero, I will pay the money to see him play his game. Best of luck next season.

Thelma on

Aw, That is sweet- I love her [joanna] on the old Reba show-

I wish they would bring that back..Best wishes for a happy healthy pregnancy and birth..I’ll bet that is one lucky and loved baby.

Lisa on

I am so happy for them! What a sweet couple! It is nice for a change to see people get married and then have children. Nick is so funny and I know he loves kids and Joanna seems like a wonderful woman. Anyone that says anything about money; Nick is not unemployed…. the Yankees offered him 13.3 million for ONE year and he declined thinking he will get offered more than that.

faith on

Really? You’re going to story bomb with “I’m pregnant too”? Who gives a F*c*???

soph on

Barbie, you do realize just how hilarious your comments are, don’t you?
