Spotted: Jennifer Garner and Violet Get Fresh

Jennifer Garner and daughter Violet, 6½, were in the market for some healthy treats while vegging out at the Brentwood, Calif. farmers market on Sunday.

Garner and her husband Ben Affleck are also parents to Seraphina, 3½, and Samuel, 6 months — and make an effort to find a balance between their kids and their careers.

“I don’t want to be a stay-at-home dad. Work is very important to me. I like to work,” the Argo actor/director told Details magazine.

“But I need my work to mean something to me in order for me to not be home with them.”

The colors on those veggies are amazing! They don’t look like that at my farmer’s market – I’m jealous! Violet is such a pretty girl and I enjoy seeing the kids growing up, but I always feel a little creepy when I see pics of the Affleck kids because I know Ben and Jen have both said they’d prefer the paparazzi did not take pics of the kids.

Sara – I seem to recall a while back there was some kind of agreement in place between People and Garner where People agreed to respect her wishes NOT to photograph the children. So much for that.

Sara – A while back Jen Garner asked People not to publish paparazzi pictures of her kids and for a while, People acquiesced. I guess times have changed…

Anonymous- I don’t think Jennifer is martyr wife at all! Yes, Ben works and said he prefers doing so to staying home….just like countless other dads! I mean, let’s face it, most dads, at least here in the U.S., are the primary or only breadwinners for their families!

Also, Jen doesn’t strike me as the type of person who would stand for a man treating her like garbage. So if Ben really was as bad as some people seem to think, I think she’d have left long ago!

That being said, Violet is adorable!

People has a very strange way of moderating the comments on this site. My comment – posted three times – was not offensive, insulting, hateful and did not contain any profanity, yet it was either removed or never posted at all. On other posts, I’ve seen all kinds of hate, vitriol and profanity make it through the comment filter. Very strange indeed.

cn tower – the editors posted in the comments a long time ago that Ben and Jennifer lifted their request to not post pictures of their family, so long as they don’t post pictures of the children at school.
