Halle Berry tries to keep up with 4-year-old daughter Nahla Ariela Thursday on the L.A. set of The Hive, where the Oscar winner recently suffered a head injury.

“What I see in her right now is she is incredibly funny,” the actress, 45, told PEOPLE recently of her little girl.

“There’s a side of me that can be funny that I think nobody ever gets to see, but she is incredibly funny, and very witty, and has a very good sense of humor, and I love that.”

Nahla is Berry’s only child with her ex, model Gabriel Aubry.
