Kelsey Grammer Welcomes Daughter Faith Evangeline Elisa

07/13/2012 at 04:00 PM ET
Barry Brecheisen

It’s a girl for Kelsey Grammer!

The Boss star’s wife Kayte delivered a daughter, Faith Evangeline Elisa Grammer, at 1 a.m. Friday, July 13 in Los Angeles. She weighed in at 6 lbs., 2 oz.

“We are thrilled,” the couple tell PEOPLE. “Mother and child are in excellent health.”

The arrival of their baby girl was also bittersweet for the Grammers.

“We were ecstatic earlier this year, when we announced that Kayte was carrying twins. Tragically we lost the little boy shortly thereafter,” Kelsey, 57, and Kayte, 31, reveal in a statement.

“This was not something we cared to make known publicly at the time. It was unspeakably painful and we know that people will understand our desire to keep the news private then, as we know they will respect our privacy in this matter now.”

The couple, who previously lost a child in the fall of 2010, add, “A glorious birth with a lingering sadness is ours today. We choose to celebrate the life that has been given us. We proudly introduce our Faith to the world today looking forward to the days ahead and the children yet to come.”

The Grammers — who wed in February 2011 and renewed their vows in June – celebrated their baby shower in Chicago, where Kelsey recently wrapped filming on the second season of Boss.

Welcome to this world Miss Faith.

meme on

congrats on the baby girl!! I wish them peace in the passing of their son. God Bless.

Alissa on

So happy Faith is healthy and sad about their two miscarriages. I hope they are able to focus a little more on the happy and a little less on the sad, although I’m sure it is difficult. Also hope they have many, many years of marital bliss and wish all the best for little Faith, I love her name!

ELC on

Lots of good luck to the Grammer family. Have a lot of happiness.

Nikki on

Congrats to them on the birth of their new baby!

My condolences on the loss of her brother.

Can’t wait for the new season of Boss…he is AWESOME!!!

ELC on

Congrats on the new arrival. Just have a lot of happiness with your new bundle of joy.

Faith on

congrats to the couple, losing a baby is hard but bringing one into the world is a joy to everyone.

star on

So sorry to hear about this. Congrats on the birth of their healthy daughter.

Ava on

Good luck, Baby. Your daddy will be dumping your mommy soon for the next young woman he meets.

PDXsara on

The children yet to come? I hope he means grandchildren!

Mary on

Boy, God works in mysterious ways. Just saying. I do not like Kelsey, but the news deeply saddens me.

lovely123 on

Even though I do not care for him one bit, I wouldn’t wish such sadness on anyone.

Emry on

Congrats on the baby girl, Kelsey really doesn’t deserve that happiness though, hes trash!!!

Eve re: Mary on

So God did this…in retribution? You’re sick

Lindi on

He’ll be dead before she graduates high school. At least this wife is pretty and Faith will be too.

Julianna on

Congratulations on the birth of baby Faith, and I’m sorry for the passing of your child.

meghan on

Children yet to come? Why can’t people focus on the blessings that they have? You have five healthy children. Focus on that.

weezer on

He’s such an a#&hole.

Jen on

Sorry Kelsey – but it looks like karma’s a bitch huh?! You treat people like dirt and you get it back 10-fold.

Mya on

So they had a baby shower for twins and didn’t tell anyone there was only one baby? Did they get two of everything? Hopefully they requested “In lieu of gifts”. Otherwise, that’s pretty selfish.

Lauren on

Hopefully now with four daughters he will finally learn how to treat/respect a woman. It’s sad to hear of the loss but I feel like it may be a little bit of karma creeping in for the two of them.

Bella on

These two don’t deserve any congrats for what they have done. He is a creep and she is a homewrecker. He will just walk out on these kids too just like all the rest.

Guest1713 on

Mary, do you actually believe that God would punish a baby for something his father did? You are misguided.

bh on

Such a beautiful name. God bless everyone.

Mom Of Twins on

Sorry to hear about the loss of their son. My twins were born on Friday the 13th also, in 2000.

Patti on

Another kid he can stick with the mother in five or ten years when he is tired of her, has an affair with another woman and then proclaims that woman is the love of his life. The circle of life continues.

notsosure on

Another child doomed to live a life apart from it’s father, living on child support payments.

bh on

I was born on the 13th but it wasn’t a Friday thank God.

notsosure on

Funny how the first pic’s of this woman, showed a MUCH homelier looking woman, and now she has her hair professional colored and her makeup professional done, and she wears more expensive clothing. She is certainly enjoying “the life” (ahem – his money). Golddigging ho of a homewrecker is all she is, and ever will be remembered as.

Puckersbabe on

Wow. First of all congrats on baby Faith, what a blessing to have a baby girl. I am saddened by the loss of her baby brother, what a tragedy. This is truly bittersweet.

Secondly, I can’t believe how awful people can be on their posts. No one deserves this, and no one should have to be bashed or told that they deserve this. That is sick! People are so brave behind their computers, I dare anyone say that to someone’s face. If you can’t be happy or sad for them, don’t post your disdain for either of them. Don’t be a mean troll.

MeredithM on

Congrats to them on their healthy daughter and my condolences to them on the loss of their son.

Lily on

I am asking a question because I am genuinely interested in knowing the answer, so it is not a rhetorical question meant to be misinterpreted. If someone is carrying twins, how can the person lose one baby without losing the other? I understand that they were fraternal twins, but I would think any miscarriage would also cause trauma to and miscarriage of the other twin.

I had a friend who was pregnant with fraternal twin girls. Early in the pregnancy, they found that one of the little girls had only a bit of a brain stem and not much else in the head and facial region had ever developed; they gave the twin 0% chance of survival outside the womb. My friend kept saying she HAD to carry both twins for the healthy twin to survive because if she miscarried one baby, she would lose the other.

If that’s the case, how did they lose one baby and keep another during one pregnancy? I want information about how this can happen.

On a rhetorical note, why would they continue to allow people to believe she was having twins to the point they even hid the single pregnancy during a baby shower? That is just over-the-top selfish behavior! While I cannot stand Kelsey Grammer’s tendency to be a dispicable person and his “me, me, me” life choices, I am saddened to hear of the loss of any child and am gladdened by the birth of a healthy baby. I am just left very confused by many of their statements and actions.

lol on

he wants more kids? can he stop

Lucy on

Who cares.

denise on

Best wishes to them with their new arrival Faith. I am also sad to hear about the little boy they lost.

Sandra on

Puckersbabe; You said it perfectly, thank you. I couldn’t agree more.

I mean, you might not like the man or what I might have done. But to in a sense wish the loss of child on anyone is beyond me!

Congrats to the Grammer Family on baby Faith

kim on

I too dislike Kelsey VERY much but I am sad about the loss of the baby. I too believe that karma bit you in your big pompous a**.

Anonymous on

Lily, it depends on when in the pregnancy she lost the baby. Early on, the other twin will reabsorbed into the mother’s body.

donna on

KARMA is a bitch!

dawn on

KARMA IS A BITC* KELSEY…..

Anonymous on

Lily, the twin that does not make it can remain inside like with your friend and not harm the other twin. This actually happens more often than people think. Sometimes the twin is reobsorbed into the body if the loss happens early on and there are also cases of the twin that is lost actually misscarries and comes out, though this is rare.

Unfortunatly I am familiar with the Grammer’s pain because of my own very similar situation.

Best of luck with their new little girl!

Robin on

@Lily, It can happen. My mother miscarried my twin. At the time they didn’t know she was having twins and told her she was no longer pregnant.

kelly on

Lots of people were expressing mean things towards them online and while I am not fans of either one of theirs, we shouldn’t wish bad things upon anyone. This baby is what is called a “twin less twin” in the twin community. My mother was a twin less twin, as her sister died at birth. She grew up sad her entire life as she never knew her older (by a few mins I assume) sister. She eventually died and was able to rejoin her sister I believe. My prayers and thoughts go out to this couple.

who knows on

I can’t stand him and would never watch a single show or movie with him in it. This is sad news for anyone however to have two miscarriages and nothing to joke about relating to that. I do not envy Faith’s future though… will be tough on her when gold digging mommy divorces grandpa, I mean Daddy

Betty on

My mother told me a while ago if you have nothing nice to say keep your pie hole shut, well I think the biggest thing to get back at old kelsey will be when his grown children do to him what he did to them. When he is old and gray and in need of help, walk out and leave him in his diapers.

jJester on

Congrats to the mother and that’s all I have to say…

Mavvy on

You people disgust me. Forget what Kelsey has done in his private life. No one deserves losing a child. What a hateful thing to say.

Angel on

Congratulations on the little girl! My heart goes out to them in regards to the loss of the other little one.

My daughter passed in utero also, she would have been starting kindergarten this year. It is one of the hardest things anyone could ever go through. I didn’t have much support when I lost my daughter. Everyone complained about how sad and withdrawn I was, and my Mom said “Maybe it’s for the best.” I wonder what she would look like, or what she would be doing. She is my little angel.

I don’t necessarily agree with their relationship – he’s my Dad’s age, and she is my age – but do wish them the happiness, and wish them the best. I hope they will have lots of support from those around them.

Frances on

Exodus 20:5 Sometimes the sins of the father are visited on the son.

“You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me…”

God help me, but this is the first thing I thought. Sad for anyone to lose a child.

So, guess I have to pray for the child and for myself (b/c I have no sympathy for KG.)

Motheroftwo on

This guy has 5 kids, 4 of which I believe are daughters, what example is he really setting for his girls on how men should treat women? More kids to come? Seriously he should focus on the 5 he has now and be happy with them. I don’t care for him at all he is a terrible person and sets a terrible example for his children, throws women away like trash when they no longer suit him.

Leslee on

I suspected something was not right with this pregnancy, given she had quite the “baby bump” going very early and then looked pretty average size for a singleton pregnancy. Having been there, done that, carrying to your due date or anywhere is almost guaranteed to have you sporting a much larger belly.

Sometimes multi babies do die and actually fully miscarry but the pregnancy continues for the other fetus or fetuses. I have had more than one friend have a confirmed miscarriage only to find out that there was more than one and they are still pregnant.

My two cents is that I understand having to experience that grief and not necessarily wanting to share it but it’s better to not mislead people with press releases and tell them, or allow them to assume, that two babies are still expected.

Big Fan on

Why keep having kids? Will you be around when they get older? And sad as it is for the loss of the poor baby’s life, who did nothing worng, I believe in the Bible quote above. And may God Bless the new baby and his wife, because IMO, they’ll need it!

WhyNot on

It is quite possible to carry twins in separate amniotic sacs and lose one, not the other through a spontaneous miscarriage. More likely, the 2nd baby, failed to thrive and was actually carried to term, born dead so as not to risk the life of the healthy fetus.

Try being more positive in your responses, people. This must have been a tragic situation for them, but they have baby Faith, and I wish her life, health and happiness despite the loss of her twin. Even though he was not born, she will miss him.

dawn on

She is with him for the money and sperm. Come on people….

Congratulations to them on Faith’s birth! Sorry about the loss of her twin.

And you people disgust me right now. You’ve sunken to a new low.

Oh God…his morals and a name like that…at least Camille can thank God she got out!!!!

Kelsey is trash. He is not in his right mind. This young woman will soon learn that Kelsey has no soul. Kate slept her way to the top with a married man who had two kids and a wife raising his family. He’s 57 and she’s 31. Really? Can’t imagine what they have in common. She was looking for a come-up and he was looking for yet another late in life crisis. Good luck.

Jenn on

For all you bad karma folks… No one deserves the loss of a child. The child didn’t deserve to die. Get a grip and shut up. Best wishes to Kelsey and his family. I am very sorry to hear of your loss.

noam on

the article about the baby shower makes it sound like it was just more of a dinner party, than an actual gift-exchange. and even if there were gifts, it is entirely possible that his coworkers and friends knew that they had lost their son, just not (gasp!) people magazine…as much as the tabloids have made of what a terrible guy he is, i do hope he has found happiness with his wife and their new daughter…

notsosure on

@Lily………I lost a twin during the first ten weeks of pregnancy. It was absorbed back into the uterine wall, and is not considered a “miscarriage”. A miscarriage is the term for when a baby/babies are entirely lost, and it ceases the entire pregnancy. Losing a twin during the first few weeks of pregnancy, rather, is medically termed a vanishing twin syndrome. As I was told by my doctor.

It’s also HIGHLY doubtful they knew it was a boy either. Losing a twin within the first two weeks, there is no way to know what the sex of the baby was, when it is merely in a small embryonic state still. So why they said they lost a boy, is beyond me!

LaLa on

First of all- congratulations on their baby girl, and condolences on the loss of their son.

For those of you saying this is retribution- my mouth is just hanging open so wide right now.

I have experienced the loss of three children – two of whom were twin girls who were stillborn due to a rare pregnancy complication at the end of my pregnancy.

For you to say that the loss of a child is God’s retribution is just soooo hateful and wrong. It is just awful and callous, and really hurtful to anyone who has buried a child.

I don’t know much about these people, but I do know that grief is grief. I wish them all the best in healing from their unfathomable loss.

If you don’t have something nice to say or you don’t understand what they are going through, it is best just to keep nasty and hateful thoughts to yourself.

I understand why they didn’t tell the press earlier. She was probably terrified that hateful comments and media frenzy and speculation and tabloids and paparrazi would stress her out so much that she would lose the surviving twin.

She was probably also out of her mind with grief and didn’t necessarily want to share it with the whole world right then.

jj on

I Assume that Kelsey will abandoned this one too. Like HE says “the kid will get over it” … remember his comment?

lissa on

no one knows what happened behind the scenes in his last marriage… so i choose to receive this good news with graciousness. it’s a new life.

Smokey on

Oh for pete sake some has nasty childlish comments I ever seen in my life and they dont show no respect. Congratulation Kelsey hope you and your wife have wonderful life with new daughter & Im sorry about your son May God Bless you. Just ignore nasty comment Kelsey they are just very jealous rages.

Kris on

I do not like the fact he has married this much younger woman, and that he is procreating again, but I am sorry they lost their baby boy in utero. Very sad. I do like him as an actor, love the Frasier re-runs and his new show Boss is great.

meghan on

Jenn, a baby didn’t die. A pregnancy failed to develop.

Anonymous on

He is sickening and vile. So now he has “only” five kids rather than six (or does he count the embryos and fetuses that faded away)? What a (very talented) loser. Kayte (did her parents have spelling challenges or did she do that to herself?) has extremely poor judgment (is that a tactful way to say it?) and just what we need, yet another “Faith,” like Keith Urban’s daughter….faith isn’t something to celebrate, it’s a dandelion ball, a puff, a fluff, a cipher. Better to name a kid Grit or Courage or Resilience or Strength or Humor. Faith, ick. It also sounds like a lisp.

He doesn’t have time for all those children. He does, however, have money.

I remember when Pavarotti’s son (a twin, originally a triplet) died. That mom too was much younger (30+ years) than the father. And he was gone about four years later. Well, not “gone,” I mean dead; Kelsey will probably not die, he will just move on. It’s his prerogative, but it would be so nice if he got a vasectomy. UGH!!!! Pavarotti was forced to stop with four offspring; sounds as though Kelsey hopes to be another Don Adams or (ugh) Kevin Costner

stacey on

Classy name, but I do agree with ava and patti. Does this woman actually think Kelsey will stick around for her??????? Wake Up Kayte!!!!!

meghan on

Man, even his birth announcement is pretensious.

Amy on

Lily- when your friend miscarried one of her twins it was early they never take the deceased twin out during a pregnancy. My good friend lost one of her twins and she carried both babies until the live one’s birth. If it’s early the baby would be absorbed into the mother’s body. If the baby is further along he or she would be delivered when it’s living twin is born

Notsosure- Kayte was in her second trimester when she lost the boy so yes speaking as someone who’s lost two babies in the second trimester you would know what the genders are. I did. She was in the second trimester when she announced her pregnancy and during the same month in January they announced it was twins two weeks after that is when she lost her son.

As for those sick negative comments, seriously did you see the woman he was married to previously? or rather her show He should have a medal for putting up with her for as long as he did.

As I’ve said I’ve lost two children in the second trimester and I’ve never hurt a soul. If I’ve done something wrong I apologize. But you know I’m not perfect. Nobody is. And to say karma is what took the other twin is beyond sick and trashy.

Elisa on

for the people who are talking about God and punishment: you’re not God so please leave the punishment part with Him! stop guessing if this or that happened because God was angry at this man… none of us can know for sure what’s God thinking so please stop being so judmental… even God Himself said we shouldn’t do that! if you don’t believe in me, go to the bible in Luke 6,36-37…

in the statement said the other baby was a boy, so it was a bigger baby whose body wouldn’t be reabsorved by the mother’s… maybe that baby was born without her being in labour… a baby that big couldn’t be left dead in the womb (I have seen what they look like after a few days), so maybe the doctors could have perfomed a c-section in order to keep the baby girl alive… nice name by the way!

Kris on

I don’t believe she lost the baby MONTHS ago. I think it was very recent….just look at how big she was in the picture above and when they renewed their wedding vows. And Faith was only 6 pounds? Makes you wonder.

Elisa on

@Amy, that must have been tough for you… and you’re right… I have a friend who lost twin girls at 30 weeks and she never did anything to anyone either… that’s why the punishment thing is ridiculous… I don’t know this man well enough, but like you said the child can’t be blamed by their parent’s mistakes… somethings happen for reasons we can’t really understand… and for a good mother to lose a baby, even if it happens in the first semester, can hurt really deep…

Alysia on

Such a pretty name.. Finally a person names there kid something pretty yet normal. I’m glad that they have now had Miss Faith. I feel for them that has to be such a tragedy that her twin brother did not make it to this earth, they will all be together one day.

What can I say….who cares. An almost 60 year old marries a 30 yr old flight attendant. She gets pregnant and she seals the deal. She is smart ant he is an insufferable asshole.I am so tired of these old guys marrying young girls and then bringing innocent kids into the world. In 3 years there will be another divorce…but then again he pays and she scored.Good luck Kelsey!

although I do not like the gentleman myself. I am saddened to hear of the loss and happy that they have a beautiful baby girl. To hear many on here calling it karma or wishing him ill luck in the future have to remember his ex wife has moved on as you all should too. You either like him or not. Wishing ill fortune on anyone just make you look pathetic.

I didn’t realize how low people could go until I read some of these posts. And you pompus A$$es sit back and wonder what’s wrong with this world? You all need a good mouth washing with some strong soap.

happyheart2 on

How dare anyone comment negatively about losing a baby? I, myself, had twin boys in 2011. I lost one of them unexpectantly a little less than two days after giving birth at 35 weeks. Seriously, you have no idea the pain and devastation that occurs in losing a baby.

And waiting until the other baby safely arrived to tell the world was probably the best thing they could have done. Emotionally, it is devastating to be asked about your twins when one has passed. It was probably enough for the mother to have to deal with her own feelings of grief than to have to deal with everyone else’s too. And a mother’s mental state definitely can affect the health of the baby.

Just because there is a second doesn’t make it any-less painful. You wanted that baby, and you miss and mourn that baby. It is absolutely impossible for anyone to understand the mental state of someone in that situation and pointless for you to say what you would do. Hopefully, you will never have to find out.

Shannon on

So bittersweet! Congrats and condolences!

They’ve lost 2 babies? They should be grateful this one survived and think twice about tempting fate. His sperm may be nonviable in the long term.

Wishing Kelsey and Kayte Grammer the very best in their new life. Glad they have a sweet little girl, but so sorry to hear about losing their little boy. God does have a plan, and one can only pray for peace and comfort. Faith will bring great joy to them! Congrats on your new baby daughter!

kristen on

For those of you making the “karma’s a bitch” comments- you really don’t understand karma do you? You celebrate the death of a child and claim that this is the universe getting back at him? That negativity will come back to you. Look into karma before you begin wishing it upon anyone. That term “what goes around comes around” begins with you.

Anonymous on

So sad they have had 2 miscarriages…the one before and the baby boy. But congrats on baby girl Faith! This should be his last child tho.

Morobi on

Good luck Kelsey. Anyone who takes on little kids this far into life deserves all the energy that his fans can provide. I look forward to grandkid visits, but not the stay-here-every-night kind.

Emnatsmum on

@Erin: Dude, learn math before you post something ridiculous. If he’s 57 he certainly won’t be teaching Faith to drive when he’s 63, unless he’s planning on teaching a 6 year old! Go back and learn your mathematics before you post something stupid like that.

No one is guaranteed another day. Not if you are 57 or 27 or 17. My mother was widowed at 22 when at 23 her husband was killed by a drunk driver. My brother was 11 months old at the time. Live while you are living, and love as long as you can. That’s all you can do.

Grief is grief and loss is loss whether you are an asshole or not.

Alexandra on

I, for one, think it’s hilarious how people are suddenly like bashing others for questioning their relationship just because they lost a child, while they were probably some of the same people that had make fun of them before. Puts things into perspective. He’s the same guy. Yes, he lost a child and that’s tragic, but you know…..

Ann on

Congrats to Kelsey and Kayte on the birth of their baby! So sad to hear of their son’s death too.

I cannot believe some of these nasty posts. How do you all know what happened behind closed doors??? I don’t think Kelsey’s ex-wife is all that innocent myself. She only wanted money herself and his new wife is NOT a homewrecker, their marriage was already over. Get a life everyone and if you have nothing nice to say then say NOTHING AT ALL!

Laughing Mama on

Live in the moment. Life is short.

Amy on

Meghan- actually a baby did die their son was in the second trimester of pregnancy and in some cases some babies born that early have been known to survive.

They did not announce the pregnancy until Kayte was in the second trimester of pregnancy. Perhaps wanting to be on the safe side because her previous pregnancy ended in miscarriage. It was two weeks after that they announced that she was expecting twins.

My son and daughter died while I was in my second trimester of pregnancy. Both babies were healthy it was my son’s placenta that was not so he passed away. My daughter died because I had an undiagnosed infection that went to her and she passed away 17 months after my son. My children died, it wasn’t a case of “the pregnancy didn’t develop” what a rude statement. You don’t know what week or the reason their son died geez.

I think alot of people here seem to think her son died earlier in pregnancy than he died.

Dina on

After hearing about the loss of the other baby, it makes more sense why Kelsey and Kayte had that vow renewal ceremony. Everyone, myself included, was so quick to make judgments about that but they were probably wanting to do something that would bring them some joy and happiness after a sad loss. I get it. Many blessings to them all.

Megan on

Bittersweet is right. Wow, how emotional in all sorts of ways. I wonder if Kate had to carry the deceased baby to term? I don’t know anything about that.

Amy on

Elisa- Thank you for you kind words and yes the three years since I lost my son have been difficult especially since we tried for many years to become pregnant with him. My daughter was born sleeping (I had my babies just like one would have a full term baby in a labor and delivery unit) the same week my grandmother was told she had terminal breast cancer and passed on six weeks later.

No they wouldn’t take the deceased twin while the other pregnancy is still healthy. My friend lost one of her twins at week 20, they only discovered that he had passed away at their gender ultrasound and she was high risk and had been having ultrasounds every four weeks. It would cause stress on the uterus that didn’t need to be, and could cause her to go into premature labor and could have quite possibly lost Faith in the process. No doctor would do a surgery on a pregnant woman unless completely urgent. There would be no harm to the surviving twin to carry the deceased twin until the surviving baby is born.

cheryl on

Grammar having all these daughters, worries me. He’s a known child molester, who preys on young girls. Why any woman would have a child with him, is beyond me. Oh yeah, he has a little money, woopee. praying for his daughters.

nikki on

It’s possible and common to miscarry a twin…there is the vanishing twin syndrom where the weaker is absorbed into the other twin or mother and then where one nomally miscarries with bleeding and cramping. I was preggers with twins and lost the first one at 8weeks and unfortunately lost the 2nd at 17 weeks. She’s lucky she carried the 2nd full term and I can understand how it’s bittersweet.

Also, I believe they kept this info away from the general public, aka people like us and only told immediate friends. I don’t think they had a shower for twins as that would be too painful for his wife.

JessicaB on

wow, 57 years old with a baby and a 31 year old wife. old enough to be her dad and the child’s grandpa.

anyone know if he ever see’s his children with camille?

Amy on

Nikki yes that would be the case if she lost him earlier in the pregnancy but she was in her second trimester, and it’s not called vanishing twin syndrome after the first trimester and babies lost in the second trimester are not absorbed into the mother’s body.

Ali on

It’s really, really sad to lose a child in utero for anyone so my condolances on that end of it. I don’t feel like the “karma’s a bitch” thing works with this. How is the universe killing a baby getting even with a man for being sleazy? I don’t think it works that way.

I DO think he is a scum-bag though. I mean, cmon…he’s a flippin’ GRANDFATHER now and he says, “the children to come” in the future???? Really??? Jeeeeeez…how many children does this man need??? He has 5 healthy kids with a couple different baby mama’s now and he just wants to keep going and going? He hasn’t learned a lesson??? He’s just stupid to me. Isn’t it obvious that this Kayte girl is with him for his money??? He’s THAT blind??? Does he think he is a hot, attractive guy or something? Ick. He’s old and gross.

He needs to get a vasectomy. I don’t care who anyone sleeps with but when you are 60 years old and having babies I feel like it’s irresponsible.

Tonya on

He is just a piece of crap. He doesn’t take care of the kids he has. I have no use for him, period. Deadbeat dads don’t deserve to have any more children. TAKE CARE OF THE ONES YOU ALREADY HAVE!!!

You ridicule and call Kelsey Grammer all kinds of names and trash him to the moon and back, but from where I’m standing, spewing all this judgmental, vicious vitriol towards someone who is a complete stranger to you is way, WAY worse. If karma or God or whatever caused the death of the Grammers’ baby boy because of all the things he’s done in his past, what will be visited upon you for the hate shown here?

Chicken Little on

Kelsey Grammer is a dirty old man who pries on young spring chickens. Can’t believe he is having more children when he treated Camille and their children like dirt. Can’t stand him. Old geyser. Dirty old pervert.

Jen DC on

I am happy for them that Faith survived and was born healthy. I can’t imagine Kayte’s emotions right now, especially having had to carry the deceased son to term in order to have her daughter. My heart goes out to all of you who have experienced this; I hope… I hope there’s been some kinda of solace for you, more compassion than in evidence here.

All I can say to the other cruel statements is, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” It is interesting that so many bring up “karma.” Mocking someone’s grief, regardless of their past ill deeds, is negative karma, it’s clearly anti-Christian, and it lessens your humanity. Just as you believe Kelsey Grammer received his, you will “get yours.”

Erin, 57 + 16 = 73, hon. Carry the one.

Who knows what he has learned over the course of his numerous marriages. Who knows whether he has changed. I don’t live in his house and while I don’t approve of what I do know of his lifestyle, it’s not for me to wish him ill or punish him, let alone claim to know the will of god (or the gods) or fate and decree that his son was lost because of the sins of his father.

Pamela on

Lord, you women are a vindictive bunch. Have any of you though that their story has two sides? His children may not have their Dad, but they are feed and WELL cared for. That is way more than a lot of children have today. Feel sorry for the little ones that go to bed hungry or have no place to call home.

Please treat your daughter as the special gift she is.

kendrajoi on

Sleazoids. Both of them.

m182 on

Wow, you haters are twisted. Does what he did directly affect you? NO! You people who talk about karma and that’s what he gets are nasty pieces of trash.

A loss of a child is devastating regardless of who the person is. And no, dummy, she didn’t have a shower for twins and not tell anyone there was only one baby. Do you not know how to read?? She had 2 and only 1 survived. Do the math.

Congrats to Kelsey for the beautiful baby girl they have and condolences for the son they lost.

gandy on

The beautiful new life should not be tarnished by the actions of the father. Don’t agree with his choices, but bless her life and people can change, so maybe he’ll do right by her.

JenDC it’s called a typo.

Pamela, there are more important things then sending child support. If my father once gave of his time instead of money, my life would have been a lot different.

Congrats to them on the birth of baby Faith. My deepest condolences on the loss of their son. No matter what people personally think of Kelsey and Kayte, no one deserves to lose a baby like that. So sad.

mileysucks on

Aww, man, what a bittersweet moment. I am both happy and sad for them.

Losa on

I don’t know very well this actor but I just read how many tragedies he had in his life.( His younger sister, was abducted, raped, and murdered by spree killer. His twin half-brothers died in a scuba diving accident. Close friend died in the 9/11 attacks. His second wife attempted suicide, which resulted in the miscarriage of their child. And with his current-wife lost 2 babies.) I think this is why he couldn’t find his happines so long, had alcohol and drug-problems etc.

So I just wish them the best and a long marriage with their baby girl.

Ava Jane on

Notsosure- actually if you lose one baby and not the other it’s still considered to be a miscarriage. It doesn’t matter if the other baby thankfully doesn’t pass away. What you said in several of your posts makes zero sense.

Megan- Yes she would have. Even when the twins are in different sacs (as these babies were because they were fraternal boy girl twins) her cervix would have to dilate to deliver the baby (again he died in the second trimester). Alot of people who have heard of, had experience, or know someone who’s had a first trimester miscarriage think it wouldn’t be any different if in the second. I’ve had two 2nd trimester losses and I can tell you it’s quite different. The baby wouldn’t reabsorb into the mother’s body. My cousin was pregnant with twin girls 21 years ago and lost one. Her doctor wasn’t very good and just left the baby who was lost to remain inside of her. The baby turned into a tumor and she had to have a hysterectomy at just 23 years old.

Nikki- yes what your saying is correct there is such a thing as vanishing twin syndrome but that happens very early in the pregnancy after the first trimester that does not happen. Alot of people seem confused by when she lost the baby but by reading the article and clicking the links and simple math, They announced the pregnancy she was already in the second trimester. Two weeks later they announced it was twins so the little boy was not lost in the first trimester. You Hear the heartbeats at around 12 weeks (1st tri).

Ann- totally agree watching her on Real Housewives made me sick. She came across as only caring about how many houses she owned (at least 5) what she drove and how much money she had. To me I wouldn’t work and employ that many nannies to raise my children that I supposedly loved. Now let me clarify. Everyone who wants to work has the right to do so and there is nothing wrong with having nannies it just looks like she didn’t see them very often which isn’t ok.

Also you may remember that they used a surrogate to birth mason and Jude. The excuse she used was IBS. I have never heard of such a silly excuse before in my life. I do have a medical background that’s why this stuck out in my mind. Then there’s the whole model thing. Perhaps she didn’t want to ruin her figure. I didn’t want to believe that was the reason and actually defended her but then watching her on RHBH totally made me change my mind.

Kristen- I so agree! living with that kind of negativity and hatred will eat at you and make you physically ill.

Janna- There are mean cruel people everywhere and I’m sad to say some call themselves christians but true christians don’t act that way. No need to be offensive just because one of those so called christians are being nasty.

Shannon- alot of babies are lost, I myself have lost two babies and my husband and I plan on having more. You don’t know the reasons behind their losses, so really you can’t judge them for wanting more and it’s not tempting fate people go on to have nice families after having multiple losses. I know of a family who had 4 children after losing 2 babies and another who is due this very second with her third child on earth after two loses. For some of us sadly we have to go through alot before we’re given the wonderful gift of having a living child. That was a pretty ignorant statement.

happyheart2- As someone who’s lost two babies and has had friends go through similar circumstances, having Faith made things a whole lot easier. I’ve even been told by my friend who lost one of their twins and had his brother in April she will be the first to tell you that having a live birth after losing one of the twins made losing the first so much easier. I’ve yet to bring home a surviving baby. I know having a surviving one would have so helped me through my very difficult times when I wished I was with my son. I didn’t have a baby to hold or a nursery filled with happiness to go to. Yes you mourn the one that was lost but I can tell you it’s not as bad as it could have been. If she didn’t have Faith things would be a lot worse. I know the pain of losing a baby. I’ve lost two of them and I held them in my hands. There was no celebration, instead of bringing home my babies in a car seat I carried my flowers out of the hospital. I didn’t have that living child to be joyful about. My babies both died when I was six months pregnant (different pregnancies different years 2009 and 2011) I’ve been to those grief groups and I’ve met several moms who are in our position many lost one twin or they lost a singleton. I am glad both of your babies didn’t die. I wish both were still here with you but please know it would have made a world of difference for my husband and I in the last 3 years.

TM- no need going down to their level by using immature language. we’re not 13.

Hea- don’t judge Christians just because a few who claim to be are like that. If they are hateful like that then they aren’t true Christians. Just like terrorists aren’t true Muslims. Spread your hate somewhere else.

Chicken Little- you obviously didn’t watch RHBH, she was a textbook case of one who is a gold digger. All she could talk about was how much money they had who she was married to and how many houses they owned. I’ve seen Mr. Grammer with his daughter Mason and him and his ex seem like night and day. He finally realized his mistake and got out. Good for him! Staying married for the sake of the children is such an outdated and very untrue statement. My parents did and it caused alot of pain and suffering for my siblings and I.

Anonymous on July 14th, 2012- Totally agree, I seriously doubt they’d say this to him in person. And they use the computer to hide behind and use simple nicknames to remain Anonymous (nothing wrong with being anonymous because you do it in a classy way). If your going to be hateful I think you should use your real name not some funny nickname.

Tonya- Yeah his children are well cared for what a ignorant statement. Their not living in the streets they live in Beverly hills. They have a clean bed to sleep in, are well fed, go to good schools last time I checked that was well cared for. Most children in the US don’t have what they have. Camille didn’t really work she was always riding on the coat tails of her ex husbands name so I doubt she really contributed in that department other than to hire nannies to spend time with her kids.

Ali- I don’t see how him and Kayte having more children affects you in anyway nor is it any of your business. She’s young she wants more than one living child. completely understandable.

Sharon- Your comment is very twisted. I can’t tell if your happy for them or not it appears someone who hasn’t taken their happy pills for the day. Seriously you could have kept it nice but you didn’t you did say a few nice things which is more than what alot of these people have on here but then you decided to be a debbie downer. Spread your depression somewhere else.

Kris- Did you read the article. Reading comprehension comes into play here. “We were ecstatic earlier this year, when we announced that Kayte was carrying twins. Tragically we lost the little boy shortly thereafter,” Kelsey, 57, and Kayte, 31, reveal in a statement. I could kind of tell something was amiss when I saw the baby shower photo, I knew she was close to her due date and looked pretty average for someone carrying a singleton. I have a friend who is due this month with twin boys and she’s pretty big. Both boys are currently 6lbs.

Elisa- Yes the baby would be this is what takes place when something horrible such as this happens when one twin dies after the first tri. More often than not the baby remains inside until the delivery of the surviving twin. There’s no way a doctor would do a c-section to deliver a dead baby when the surviving twin is still there and still developing. It poses no danger to the surviving twin to remain together until delivery of the surviving twin. A c section would cause trauma to the uterus and could have meant that they lost their Faith as well. If he was born then yes she was in Labor. you have to be in labor in order to dilate and you have to dilate in order to deliver a baby. Even if she lost him at say 14 weeks she would have had to dilate in order to deliver him.

Anonymous- what does Kevin Costner have to do with anything? he and his wife have been married for years. He was divorced before and had children in his first marriage then had more in his second. Non of those has anything to do with flowers. How sick are you to say they just faded away. You may not think KG is a good person, but you don’t know him so your argument is irrelevant. There are good people out there who’ve lost babies (he was lost in the second trimester and was well developed enough to tell the gender) who might see what you said as offensive. If you don’t think of KG, then think of others who’ve lost babies who would see your statement as hurtful. What a sad little person you must be going around like a troll spreading your hate.

Meghan- He was a baby, when a pregnancy fails to develop it’s lost within a month of conception. It’s called a missed abortion. When it’s in the second trimester especially he was a baby.

Smokey- I feel the same way. Sick.

Lisa- Perhaps that’s an issue best discussed with a doctor. I know what it’s like growing up without a dad and you don’t know what kind of time he spends with his children. To assume you know is pretty stupid.

Notsosure- Yes it’s still a miscarriage when one of the babies dies and one doesn’t. She was in her second trimester probably around 16 weeks. I think the argument that the children are financially taken care of is ridiculous and stupid. So what they the guy has millions and therefore can send child support out the roof until the kids are full-grown adults? Who cares! That’s not what matters with having a father! You think his kids are going to have a healthy relationship with him just because he sends his exes checks every month??? That’s so lame. I came from a broken home and I would have traded anything to have my dad actually AROUND instead of just sending my mother money and seeing us once or twice a month. We have virtually NO relationship now and I think it’s sad that this was how he felt he could get away with things. It’s not about money people…it’s about actually BEING a father.

I was carrying triplets and miscarried one of the babies (boy) at 17 weeks. His heart stopped beating. He actually came out of me a few days after he passed and by some miracle (that is what my doctor called the two other babies (girls)stayed put. VERY RARE!!! We were sure I was going to lose the pregnancy. I think he was able to come out because he was lying so close to my cervix. My girls are almost 6 years old now. So these things can happen.

Whether you like him or not is not relevent, the birth of anyone’s child is a blessing to them. And yes, you can deliver one twin even if the other twin has not survived, who ever told you otherwise is wrong, it all depends on the circumstance. If it couldn’t be done it wouldn’t have. It is all in God’s hands.

Congrats. on your baby girl, I too love her name. I’m not sure how anyone can get on here and say they hate Kelsey. Unless you know him personally how would you even know him to like him or hate him. He is an actor, most high profile people with any dignity choose not to air there dirty laundry on a reality show. Kelsey,s lovely wife may have been introduced to the world with a little less make up and a little less professionally done blow outs, but as far as I’m concerned that just shows you that he was looking for a down to earth person to spend his life with. Lord knows Camille couldn’t even be bothered to carry a child and from what I saw on her reality show didn’t seem to want to be bothered with raising the 2 children she did have. I hope the best for the three of you and will be looking forward to another littler Grammer on the way. Yes everyone Karma is a bitch ad her name is Camille. Sorry to hear of the loss of life. But I do not have respect for either. He was married when he first got her pregnant. And he ended that marriage over the phone. I went through the exact same thing and know the pain it caused not only to me but my child with that man. The other woman claimed to be a “Good Catholic girl that needed to get married before giving birth” My repsonse to her was, “Well one of you is married, isnt that good enough for your God?”

I gave alot of repsect to Camile, the wife he was married when those two decided to get knocked up. She showed class and restraint. nlike this man that has ended three other marraiges the same way and a female that doens’t mind being a home wrekcer.

Kelsey may have made some mistakes in his life but life is about finding grounding points to overcome those tendencies of self destruction. With this lady that might be the case and his second and third acts in life will be blessed. His entry into show business from day 1 on Cheers on through his show has totally revamped comedy from what it was. Ironically he was slated to be a temporary fill in on the show. That always seems to be the pattern the world changers whether it be the Beatles, Kelsey, or other great world influencers make it in spite of conventional wisdoms. He’ll be able to see his boy someday according to the child from Nebraska writing about heaven he described a sister he had never know in heaven. So a lot of good things to look forward to.

Congratulations to Kelsey and his wonderful new grounding point marriage. Much accolades to someone who has changed comedy on TV to the degree that he has.

The more I think about it, the more it seems like it would make sense to have announced the passing of their unborn son while she was still pregnant because of the huge number of comments here that are saying some harsh things about the birth of a child. It would have been less drama and more joy if the announcement of their joy in a healthy child wasn’t accompanied by a death announcement.

I don’t think there is any “right” way to handle but perhaps some better ways to do so. Whatever my personal opinion of these people, I can’t help but sympathize with a new mother having to look at her newborn and have it blasted about the media that her son was gone.

I do not understand the logic with some of you in this thread. How can you explain the loss of a child as karma for making mistakes in one marriage? That makes absolutely NO sense at all and is highly disrespectful to Kelsey and his wife, their family, daughter Faith Evangeline, and to the lost baby boy. People really need step away from their anger and use a bit of logic.

She probably passed the twin and it was tested to see what was wrong with it and they found out it was a boy. Also you can find out as early as 12 weeks what the gender of the baby is from ultrasound. Those of you who make stuff up need to seriously grow up and stop this stuff of this doesn’t exist unless you have seen it first hand! I found out my daughter was a girl at my 12 week ultrasound! It does exist. I’ve seen many women miscarry one twin early in the pregnancy and pass it and they take it in for testing to make sure there’s not something horribly genetically wrong. Most of the time it’s reabsorbed into the body and causes no harm.

I think they postponed the news on the boy 4 sympathy & to take away that he left his 1st wife

While you all sit in judgment of Kelsey Grammar, perhaps you should know a few things about him. He saw his father shot and murdered on his front lawn when he was 11 years old. When he was in college, his younger sister was raped and murdered in the parking lot of a Red Lobster restaurant. It was when his younger sister was killed that Kelsey lost control of his personal life and turned to alcohol and drugs due to his grief.

It was the alcohol and drugs that destroyed his first marriage and Camille helped him get sober when she married him which is something Kelsey to this day still gives Camille full credit for. Kelsey felt Camille married Frasier and the lifestyle Frasier provided and not Kelsey himself and Camille is rumored to have been unfaithful as well. Kelsey is involved in all of his children’s lives, but the divorce with Camille was contentious and caused problems with Kelsey and Camille both going to the kids activities, etc. They supposedly have gotten past that. Was Kelsey unfaithful to Camille? Obviously yes. Did he handle the divorce with Camille well? No, he was a complete jerk to Camille by any objective measure. But he is a man who battled many demons and more heartache than most of us will ever experience in our lifetimes with two very close family members murdered, and he and Camille had grown apart long before his new wife came into the picture. And Kelsey’s new wife has now lost two babies in the past 2 years. These are real human beings so perhaps you may find it in your hearts to express some compassion.

(And to the poster who said he’s a “known child molester”, his estranged half brother sold a story to the press that he had sex with a 15 year old, he was investigated by authorities as a result and there was no corroborating evidence to the story. The grand jury refused to approve charges which is actually pretty rare for a grand jury to do and that speaks volumes about the lack of evidence. He has been acquitted in a court of law and to make statements on-line like this is actually slander)

So, Catca, if you have a rough life you get a liscense to treat the people around you like garbage, collect wives and impregnate woman after woman, into your sixties? I’m seek of people making excuses for treating others like shit.

I have to comment after reading the other posts about twin births. I was in this situation too, with fraternal twins. I miscarried one at 16 weeks, and they put me in the hospital to try to save the other one. They succeeded. She was born at 26 weeks, low birth weight, but otherwise healthy – and she still is! Our joy was tempered by loss too, but as time goes on, we realize what a blessing we have. We also had a stillbirth after this pregnancy.

The Grammer’s baby’s name is perfect! I taught a girl with that name and I always liked it. I’ve since known other Faiths.

However many times Kelsey’s been married, he is happy now. He has been through a lot too. Some posters might remember that as a young man he had to identify his murdered sister’s body. He also had other family tragedies.

He is close to his other children. They will grow up with a father. That’s what’s important!

Meghan no one is making excuses for Kelsey’s mistakes and consistent bad judgement in his personal life. However, the loss of a child should not be celebrated or shrugged off as punishment for misdeeds in a relationship. If that really were the punishment for being unfaithful and having issues then many people would have lost children and suffered far worse consequences than this.

@ Catca – Well said. It’s not about making excuses but rather explaining why people act the way they do.

hey Kelsey…guess what else was “unspeakably sad”? They way you treated your wife and kids. These two people make me want to puke. Her family must be sooo proud of her.

I don’t know what to say. I wish them the best but I bet Camille Grammer is still saying karma’s a b*tch. I wish their little girl a lot of health.

Congrats Kelsey & Kayte on your NEW Baby Princess Faith.
May God give you strength to endure through the loss of your son. Keep the Faith God has you in his plans.
God Bless You Always

Wow. Just wow. I am no fan of Kelsey Grammer either (though how anyone who doesn’t know him personally can claim to hate him is beyond me) but A BABY DIED. That baby girl lost her brother. Parents lost their son. To say that this is something DESERVED???? I agree with the comments about new lows being hit. Totally disgusting. As adults (and I assume with many of you, as PARENTS) you should be ashamed of yourself.

My sympathies to the Grammer family on this tragic loss.

My friend’s little girl was born fully formed, except for the brain/head/face. The doctor told her if she didn’t carry that child to term, she would lose the second healthy child. This is so confusing to me. Maybe the doctor meant if the sick child caused labor early, it could harm the healthy child. Anyway, thanks for all the explanations…and I’m so sorry for the loss any of you have experienced.

I had to laugh looking at these posts! A lot of women with a lot of time on their hands! Ava Jane/Amy- really???

I hope he has a will in place. All these kids, I can see a war breaking out.
