For son Cree Hardrict’s first birthday on June 28, Tia Mowry Hardrict worked with celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss for an adorable Elmo-themed bash. “Elmo has been Cree’s traveling buddy since he was born,” the actress and star of Tia & Tamera tells PEOPLE. Along with tacos and snow cones, the party highlight was a spectacular gluten-free vanilla cake with chocolate chocolate-chip filling by Cake Divas that was enjoyed by guests like Cree’s aunt Tamera Mowry-Housley.

Luckily, having an unforgettable cake that dazzles and tastes delicious is easier than you think! We’ve rounded up inspiring kid-approved confections, from Hollywood’s fancy treats to easy how-tos from top baking bloggers!

I love both sisters so much! These girls are real role models and I wish them the best of luck. Tia with Cree and Tamera with her son on the way<3

Gorgeous family. Cree looks EXACTLY like his mother and aunt when they were babies. It’s uncanny!

Annie I was just thinking the same thing. I wonder if he can properly tell the difference between his mom and his aunt? I sure can’t! lol

I can easily tell them apart! I can’t stand Tia, she is so annoying.

the way you can tell them apart is by the mole that tamera has on her face and tamera is the more sensitive twin…Beautiful women!! and cree is a cutie too!

Does everything have to gluten-free now? Sheesh…

Anyway, love the twins. Love their Tia & Tamera show! Little Cree is adorable. Can’t wait to see Tamera’s baby!

Lucy, I never thought of that. Ha. I wonder if he gets confused when they walk in the room. Interesting. I hope she talks about that one day. That would be interesting to hear about and if it has changed over time.

Christina, Everything? Not everything IS gluten free, that would be amazing, but there are so many more options which is awesome. 1 out of 133 people are gluten intolerant, which has increased because over a decade ago it was only 1 in 2500!! I say sheesh to that one!

That elmo cake would really make my kid ‘s day! Gluten-free cakes seem to be the fad nowadays.
