A new reality star is born!

Kourtney Kardashian and boyfriend Scott Disick have welcomed their second child, a daughter named Penelope Scotland, born early Sunday, July 8 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, reports E! News.

“Scott and I are overjoyed to welcome our precious angel Penelope Scotland Disick into our lives. We are forever blessed. Mommy and baby are resting comfortably,” the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star — who, with Disick, is already mom to 2½-year-old son Mason Dash — told E! News.

Their new arrival weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz. and was delivered naturally, according to the report.

“It was a great. She had an easy delivery,” matriarch Kris Jenner told E! “[Penelope] is so cute. She looks just like Mason. She’s so beautiful. We are so happy.”

On Monday, sister Kim shared her elation on her blog, writing, “The whole family is so thrilled to finally meet her! She is absolutely perfect! I am so excited to be an aunt again and can’t wait to spoil little Penelope. I know Mason is going to be the best big brother in the whole world.”

Describing her pregnancy with Penelope, Kardashian, 33, told PEOPLE in April: “I feel really good … [though] this time I had a little more morning sickness. I think it’s a little bit harder being pregnant when you have a toddler I’m chasing after. Last time I could nap more.”

Congrats!

Leslee on

I like the name, it’s fun. I see she decided not to follow suit of her parents and her children have different initials. So glad the baby arrived safely!

Pamela on

Reminds me of Lost! Penelope Widmore and Desmond (who was from Scotland! haha)

Crystal on

Congrats. Love the name!!!!

ZoeSquare.com on

I really like that name! And guessing the “Scotland” has something to do with his heritage and/or his first name?

Tee Tee on

Aw, I LOVE her name! And yea for natural birth! Congratulations to Kourtney and Scott!

Brandi on

Congats!!! LOVE the name. Its so dainty :)

Reesca on

I seriously doubt she had an “all natural” birth. Wasn’t she the one on Twitter saying she’s going to skip the water birth and go for an epidural? Sorry Kourtney, but having an epidural, vaginal birth or not, is not considered “all natural”.

With that being said, the kid is here now hopefully this family will fade into oblivion. So tired of hearing about them.

Brandi on

I also wonder if she will have Scott’s striking blue eyes. Either way, I know she’s a beauty. :)

klutzy_girl on

Congratulations to them! I love the name. Penelope’s on my list of favorites.

And Me – Maybe she changed her mind about the epidural or she couldn’t get one. You can’t sure for sure because you weren’t there.

Pamela on

Just read on another site that there is speculation they are eloping to Scotland….penELOPE SCOTLAND

haha I’m sure people are just reading into things, but how cool if they actually do elope to Scotland?

Lady on

I love the name, so cute…yet different! It’s nice how Mason’s middle name is Dash for her side & Scotland for his side. Congrats!!

J on

Lighten up.

Brandi on

@Reesa – you put a whole lot of energy in to analyzing an article about someone you want to go away. Do you know how easy it is to just not read the article and skip over it? Silly women.

Congrats…beautiful name and they seem to be great parents. Can’t wait to see pics.

Kristen on

Congrats to her. I am a fan of hers and I really like the name. :)

Stella Bella on

Does this mean she was conceived in Scotland?

Meghan on

what a great name!!!! congrats

Katie on

Oh I really like her name!!! Scotland is very unique and I love it!!! Congrats to Kourtney, Scott, Mason and all the Jenner/Kardashians!!! I hope they show her birth on E like they did Mason’s!!

Anonymous on

Beautiful Couple, Beautiful Name, and what I’m sure is a Beautiful Baby. Congratulations, Scott and Kourtney! Stella, I think (I’m not sure) that the “Scotland” middle name is maybe for Scott Disick?

merry on

I really like the name, Penelope is so normal and yet unique, and Scotland somehow makes perfect sense as a middle name. Congrats.

Jillian on

Congrats! Love the name!

Reesca, she had an all natural, no epidural with Mason and she said she was doing the same with this birth. GivEn her healthy lifestyle, this is not shocking. I did with all five of mine.

Mary

Mia on

Love the name! – was wondering if she would have a K name.

Now she has 1 of each!

Leslie on

Penelope is a very nice name. Scotland, not so much.

Love on

Aw, Mason and Penelope. Congrats Kourtney and Scott! I know she’s beautiful!

Romy on

Penelope is nice. Scotland I don’t care for. While I don’t like Dash as a middle name much either, I think just sticking with that one would have been nicer. Scotland just sounds like Scott, which I am guessing the name comes from here and it seems funny.

Amy on

Yay! Was waiting for this announcement. Mason is so cute, so I’m sure their little girl is as well.

I just don’t like the name Penelope though. Interested to hear the backstory behind Scotland!

Katie on

I really like her name!!! Scotland is very unique and fun! Congrats to Kourtney, Scott, Mason and Disick/Jenner/Kardashian families!! I bet she is gorgeous like her Momma! Hope they show her birth on E like they did Mason’s!!!

Brooklyn on

Congrats to them! Personally, I would never use the name Penelope for my own child, but I do think it’s nice. I also thing Scotland is an interesting, but cool middle name!

maddie on

@Reesca, I just took ‘natural birth’ to mean Kourtney didn’t have a C-section. She could have had any other intervention (or lack of) under the sun, we don’t know – unless Kourtney decides to share.
I love the name Penelope, not so much a fan of Scotland, but to each their own :)

m on

@ Jillian she did have an epidural with Mason.

stacey on

What a HORRIBLY HIDEOUS name.

Leslie on

I bet Tracy Anderson (the celebrity trainer) is *super pleased* that a Kartrashian just used the same name she gave her new baby girl that was born last month. I’m sure it seemed like a original name, and now it’s going to be trendy.

Amy on

Kourtney has been such a good mommy! I am excited to see what the baby looks like, but don’t love the middle name. Oh well, not my baby! Congrats to the family!

Tanya on

Finally!!! Congrats to all big Kardashian-Disick-Jenner Family!!! It seems like she was pregnant forever!!! Great name!!!! But why “Scotland”?

Cindy on

About a year ago, Tina Fey named her second daughter Penelope. No name is really all that original, no matter how hard one tries.

Cortney on

^ Leslie and Cindy… Taylor and Natalie Hanson named their daughter Penelope like 8 years ago does that mean Kourtney and Tina are copying them too??

Janie on

She’ll probably be called Penny, which is fine, but it isn’t a good sibling match with Mason which is super trendy. Not a huge big deal but I like sibling names that are in the same style.

Congrats on another natural birth!! Hope we get to see some of it like we did Mason’s.

ClaireSamsmom on

Penelope is a very sweet name…I really like it! Not a big Kardashian fan at all, but I wish them the best.

Mina on

I dont like Penelope….it reminds me of eloping, antelope, cantelope, pineapple, loopy, and penile lol. AND that movie where Christina Ricci had a pig nose or pig face or something.

Sorry, I do not like that name at all! Scotland is nice! Even Scotlynn is pretty. Mason Dash is a beautiful name. Wish someone would have talked her out of Penelope!

ellen on

Congrats on their new addition.

Not the sort of name I was expecting at all. I was expecting something along the lines of Ava, Harper, Madison…

MollyF on

YAY!!!! Penelope Acotland is such a great name. I bet she’ll be a looker when she grows up. *gasp* Did I just say that? I’ve been reading this blog waaaay too long.

jeepers on

These people are annoying, but so are all the women out there who think that they are better than other mothers because they gave birth without an epidural. I have had three babies, two with epidurals and one without, and in my opinion, I gave birth to all of them the same way, naturally. One birth just hurt a whole lot more! Natural birth usually implies a vaginal birth. But who cares, the important thing is that the baby is born healthy and safely.

J on

Leslie, since when is baby naming a competition?

roadapplescarclub on

Congrats! Am I the only one that finds her boyfriend a little odd? Every picture I’ve seen he looks so stern and unfriendly, I’m sure he’s not like that in real life, hopefully!

Anonymous on

maddie- That’s how I took it, too. A lot of people refer to vaginal deliveries, with or without pain relief or other interventions as “natural births”.

Anyway, congrats to them and I love the baby’s name!

Leslie on

I never said baby naming was a competition. Penelope has always been a relatively unused name, like Mason used to be… and now it will probably be in the top ten shortly because of the number of people who watch the kartrashian reality show. Must be disappointing to those moms who named their kid Penelope… they can probably expect it to be given to a baby from the show Teen Mom in 9 months.

anna on

-roadapplescarclub Scott is actually hilarious guy, only reason I watch Keeping up with Kardashians. He’s bit douche too, but mainly has really hilarious sense of humor and is very loving husband and dad.

Anyway congrats for the whole family. I think it’s lovely name, even though I wouldn’t pick Penelope for my own child. But it’s pretty and the Scotland goes well with it too :)

Rebecca on

Will this one also be seen in public in PJs when she is 2 and a half as well? Wearing PJs isn’t cute when you are almost in preschool, but it’s adorable when you are a baby. I just hope she won’t be lazy mom this time around! nap more? LOL oh kourtney! my oh my maybe he would have worn a raincoat if that was going to be an issue for you!

Rebecca on

@ anna

Scott and Kourntey ARE NOT married. How can he be a “husband?” Unless he is pulling off a Kim and still married to his ex while humping Kourtney like Kim is with Kayne. The divorce isn’t final for Kris and Kim. I guess breaking one of God’s 10 commandments is in fashion this year. LOL

houseofleaves on

@Rebecca What a JUDGMENTAL “christian” you are! Doing your god’s job all by yourself there! Who gives a crap if her kids wear pajamas in public? THEY’RE CHILDREN. They travel a lot, and I’m sure they are very comfortable. I’d love to be able to walk around in pajamas all day, as I’m sure many of us would.

Grow up and stop being so friggin’ IGNORANT. Your comments are unnecessary and do nothing but show what an ugly person you are on the inside.

Best wishes to Kourtney, Scott, Mason and little Penelope on growing their beautiful family.

It was a typo of course, I know they are not married, the word husband just came somehow automatically from me when I was writing. Loving boyfriend fiance is the right word.

Kim on

Not a huge fan of the name, though Penny as a nickname is cute and thinking perhaps the Scotland part may be a surname on Scott’s side, I now someone with that as her maiden name.

Sandra on

Personally, I LOVE the name Scotland (my preference would be for a boy, but either way), and I would use for my child. And yes, I think to chose Scotland for Scott like they chose Dash for Mason because of Kardashian.

Congrats to Kourtney and Scott.

meghan on

Dumb name, but what do you expect from these two?

Mom Of Twins on

@Reesca, were you there? Let me answer that, NO! She allowed to change on mind.

Brianne on

Congrats, Kourtney and Scott! I’m sure she’s precious!!!

Nicole on

Congrats to Kourtney, Scott, and mason i love the name. cant wait to see pics of her.

Anonymous on

Leslie- As others have said, Kourtney is hardly the first celeb to name her daughter Penelope. So if people who don’t like the Karadashians happen to have daughters named Penelope, they can simply choose to associate with the other celebs who have named their daughters that (such as Taylor Hanson and Tina Fey).

And hopefully most of them will be mature enough not to care that some celebrities have chosen the same baby name they did! I mean, really, why should parents care who else has their children’s names (excluding, obviously, names that have extremely negative connotations, such as Adolph)?!

Julianna on

Yay! Finally! Congratulations to Kourt, Scott and Mason on the birth of baby Penelope. What an adorable, classy name.

JM on

i’d rather scotland wasn’t associated with this family if it’s all the same to them. horrific choice of middle name.

Jillian on

anonymous,
“A lot of people refer to vaginal deliveries, with or without pain relief or other interventions as “natural births”.

Well, then they don’t know what they are talking about because that is not what a natural birth is by definition. A natural birth is where the mother received little or no medication or anesthetics, mostly without. To say “a lot” of people refer to vaginal deliveries as natural births with pain relief is just not true. Having six children myself, a large family, and in a large group of people with kids and previously working in a field where children were brought in this world, I haven’t heard anyone say vaginal deliveries with medication is a natural delivery.

Heidi on

I think Mason is a really debonair name but Penelope doesn’t strike me as a match. I thought they’d go for something like Margot or Francesca. That said, I’ve read some cute nicknames for Penelope – namely, Pippa or Poppy, that may jive better than Penny.

blst3xs on

Why is Kris Jenner called a “matriarch?” Really!!

Lauren on

Kris Jenner is the matriarch of the family. Look it up.

Susan on

Perhaps they chose Scotland because of Kourtney’s Scottish ancestry?? Kris Jenner is Scottish, Dutch and Native American.

Cori on

The name is lovely and is a very old fashion name in Spain were my family come from, and Kourtney the brains of the family,God bless you and little Penelope.
