It’s a Kings of Leon baby boom!

Nathan Followill and his wife, singer/songwriter Jessie Baylin, are expecting their first child in December, the band’s rep confirms to PEOPLE.

“I’m beyond excited/anxious. Life is beautiful,” the drummer, 33, writes on Twitter.

Followill wed Baylin, 28, in November 2009 in Brentwood, Tenn.

It’s been a big year for the Followill family — brother Caleb wed Lily Aldridge in May 2011 and the couple welcomed daughter Dixie Pearl on Thursday; brother Jared became engaged to Martha Patterson in May; and cousin Matthew welcomed son Knox Cameron Patrick last April.

I wonder where they came up with that name for a band. It’s rather odd.

Its refreshing that a married couple is having a baby

Are they between tours or something?

Rhonda – The band name is a tribute to their grandfather Leon Followill.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
