Baby batters up!

In celebration of Father’s day, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning brought along his smiling sidekick — daughter Ava Frances, 14 months — to lend their support to the Mets at Citi Field in New York City on Sunday.

Teaming up with Pampers to salute fathers and honor MVDs (Most Valuable Dads!) for their special day, the sports star and his little lady stepped out on the field to throw out the traditional first pitch to third baseman David Wright.

“The greatest thing about being a dad is that you never realize you can love something immediately in your life,” Manning, 31, told Pampers while he and Ava practiced their toss.

“The first time that you see your daughter, and every day just wanting to be around her and telling her that you love her.”

Donning an adorable floral frock and summery sandals, Ava and her doting dad also joined other players on the field for a few family-friendly festivities before the New York Mets lost to the Cincinnati Reds, 4-1.

SO CUTE!! And in LOVE with ELI!!

Hopefully Ava doesn’t inherit the Manning speech impediment that both Peyton and Eli have make it near impossible to listen to them speak. It’s hard trying to pay attention to somebody when they can’t pronounce simple words properly.

I think she looks just like her daddy. I don’t know very much about Eli, but he was really funny on SNL.

Oh man, she’s a cutie!

Wow, I love the name Ava Frances!

Jen on

She looks like dad, pretty girl. It’s too bad that his shirt says pampers instead of say 100% breathable cotton.

For God’s sake Jen, give it a rest. I’m sick of the passive agressive PSA every time disposible diapers are mentioned.

Her name is Ava Francesca, not Ava Frances. I think she is precious. I am a huge Eli fan!!!

I don’t have a baby, but I am going to start putting Pampers on everything I own. My cat, my computer, my tv…..All to put people like Jen to rest.

I have nothing against Tim Tebow or Mark Sanchez, but the media quickly put those two in the spotlight as NY ‘heroes’ or the hottest thing in the city when they’ve done nothing yet. However, Eli Manning with all his quiet family life has already lifted TWO Lombardi trophies for NY.

And Ava Frances is one gorgeous baby by the way!

Maxie-Her name is Ava Frances. Where are you getting your information from?

Eli is an amazing player and seems to be a really nice guy, and Ava is adorable! Enough with the catty comments about anything, let alone a speech difficulty he cannot help.

And Jen, really? Diapers, like many other decisions, belong to the person making them. I used breathable cotton diapers for 2 of my children, but when I had the 3rd baby the day before the oldest’s 4th birthday, I was grateful every time anyone gifted me with a pkg. of disposables. The 4th one had disposables most of the time, because it was convenient and I wanted to spend my time with my children, not doing laundry every day. That was my choice, and I would never criticize someone for choosing differently. What is wrong with offering that advice when asked for it? Wow, so tired of the “let’s point out everything I think you’re doing wrong” attitude, most of us would rather do without.

She is a CUTIE!

@TV – It’s an accent, not a speech impediment and this New Yorker understands them just fine. Way to be ignorant!
