It’s a sister for Satyana!

Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof welcomed a daughter, Keeva Jane Denisof, on Wednesday, May 23, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

“They are all doing well,” the rep says.

The couple, who met on the set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, announced the pregnancy in December.

While promoting American Reunion, Hannigan remarked that the size of her bump had people wondering if she was due sooner rather than later.

“The last couple of times I’ve been at stores people have been like, ‘Oh, you’re ready to pop, right?'” the actress, 38, said. “I’m like, ‘Actually, I have a couple more months.'”

Soon after confirming Keeva’s birth, How I Met Your Mother star Tweeted a sneak peek of her newborn — a photo of her little hand.

Hey congrats to them! I thought she was going to have a boy, but oh well, her daughter has a sister how exciting! Seems my guesses about gender of the babies has been off lately! I used to be spot on for everyone.

Catca on

Congrats on the new baby! Beautiful name for a beautiful little girl!

alicejane on

Awesome!!! This is one announcement I was really curious to see, congratulations to Alyson, Alexis, and Satyana!! I think the name Keeva is so sweet and suits this family so well. Pretty sure it’s a Gaelic name though I’d imagine the traditional spelling would be a lot different. I bet she’s adorable!

KGurley on

That is a beautiful name! Congrats 2 the Denisofs on the birth of their 2nd baby girl! 🙂

klutzy_girl on

Congratulations to them! I absolutely love the name.

Heather on

variant of Akiva (Hebrew) and Caoimhe (Irish, Gaelic), and the meaning of Keeva is “protect, shelter; gentle, beautiful, precious”.

Alexis on

Congrats to the Hannigan-Denisof family! I love the traditional spelling (Caoimhe), but understanding opting for the phonetic/easier spelling. Bet she’s as precious as her older sister!

mary on

Congratulations! Love the name Keeva Jane- very pretty and very sweet! yeah another beautiful little girl on our planet!

Staci on

Congrats to them!

Kar on

Keeva is Gaelic for gentle beauty. With their older child having a Sanskrit name, it isn’t surprising she’d be creative with her second. Congrats all around!

Doreen on

Congrats on her new baby!!!

On the other hand, her movies are trash and just FILTHY!! Yes, I’m talking about the American Pie movies and the American Reunion one too. How can a decent girl be a part of such disgusting things?!! Trash. I guess $$$ definitely talks for her!

Pamela on

She can do no wrong-I adore her and this family! Big congrats 🙂

Niko on

Keeva? I’ve never heard that name before in my life. Its interesting. Congrats!

Ami on

Hope she goes by her middle name.

Ava on

What a cool name! Congrats, unique Alyson!

Thats a really cool name. Pleased Satyana has a sister. Congratulations to them

Brooke on

DANG IT!! She could have been the first celeb with the name Caoimhe for her child, which is awesome. But she took the easy way out.

LoveMyCrazyLife on

Congrats! I love Alyson on HIMYM!!!!!!! Interesting name.

Julianna on

Congratulations to Aly, Alexis and Saty! I like the name, it’s different but not weird. Can’t wait to see their little ones!

Lucy on

Uh Doreen the American Pie films are meant to be “dirty”, that’s why many audiences find them funny.

Congrats to Alyson, Alexis, and Satyana on the new baby. I think the name is cute (I really love the middle name Jane though)

Brooklyn on

I’ve never heard this name before, just as I hadn’t heard Satyana. I like it, it’s interesting.

Miriam Poulsen on

Wow they waited a long time to announce the birth! I am so happy for them. I love Alexis Denisof, such a great actor. What an adorable family. Congratulations to mom, dad and new big sister!

Lisa on

I’ve never heard of the name Keeva but I really like it!!!

Kat on

I expect this little one to be just as cute as her big sister – there is no cuter “celebrity” kid than Satyana.

Rhonda on

Congratulations on the new addition.

Bree on

Satyana sounds and looks WAY too similar to Satan! Am I the only one that thinks this?!?

Jax on

I am so happy for this woman and her family. However, I feel so bad that this child shares a birthday with the Devil– May 23rd–Oh you poor thing!

Tee on

I’ve been anxiously awaiting this announcement! Another daughter! Congratulations to Alyson, Alexis and Saty!

stacey on

Don’t care for the name but it is defintely better than satyana.

Liz on

There is an Irish name spelled Caoimhe which is pronounced the same as this.

I bet Alyson was hoping baby would hold out until May 24! Isn’t that the traditional family birthday? On an unrelated note, did I imagine it or were there photos from early June showing Aly was still pregnant? I was randomly googling for photos of her the other day because I was so curious to know if bubs had arrived yet and I swear there were paparazzi photos of her smiling and looking ready to pop from about June 6.

Anyway, this is great news. Huge congrats to Alexis and Aly, and welcome baby Keeva!

klutzy_girl on

Skip – Those photos were misdated for some reason and spread around with misinformation. They were actually from May 14th or 16th because everything matches up to a set of candids from that day.

Britt on

I’ve never heard of the name Keeva, but I like it!

Congrats to the happy family!! They are such great hands on parents!!

ruby on

I prefer the Gaelic spelling, but I am sure they thought it would be too hard for people to pronounce. There is another spelling “Kiva” although that is a different meaning. I love the name, I have a dear friend named that.

And it’s weird to see a grown man close to my age with the same name as me!

SAR on

Keeva – ke(e)-va\ – as a girl’s name is a variant of Akiva (Hebrew) and Caoimhe (Irish, Gaelic), and the meaning of Keeva is “protect, shelter; gentle, beautiful, precious”.

Found that on a baby name site.

Congratulations to Alyson, Alexis and big sister Satyana! Two girls is a lovely thing. At least, I think so, as I’m a second daughter.

indira on

I think the gaelic spelling looks really nice although but it may no be practical for every day life. Keeva looks kinda silly on paper but the name sounds pretty.

rustynation on

I LOVE the name Caoimhe, but since I have a photographic memory for spelling and can never spell it correctly, I’d probably spell it Keeva too.

Congrats, guys!

rustynation on

I prefer the Gaelic spelling as well, but I can never spell it correctly and I have a photographic memory for spelling, so I’d go for Keeva as well.

Congrats, guys!

JJ on

I love the traditional spelling of the name (Caoimhe) but I don’t love it spelt Keeva. Each to their own, though. Glad she is healthy.

karen on

Congrats. Super cool parents! and the cutest kids (=

linda on

I like her, she always seems so down to earth and friendly. Her little family is adorable. Congrat’s on the new baby!
BTW I had my daughter (who is now 29) on the same day..May 23rd!”

Wondering on

I am 59 and I have absolutely no clue whatsoever who this couple is. I have no idea if that is good or bad, but I wish them the best whoever they are!

Tee on

I obviously have no knowledge of how Gaelic names are pronounced because The Gaelic name resembles no wherre near the name Keeva in my book. I am assuming Keeva is pronounced (and rhymes) with Reeva. I love unique names and Keeva is unique.

@Bree, I have to agree with you every time I see the name Satyana, the first word that goes through my mind is satanic and I have to then say no, no, Satyana and calling her Saty for short is very cute.

Congrats and the hand pic is precious. Have to wonder if she’s going to be a redhead like her Momma and big sis.

kimmie on

How do you pronounce Caoimhe? Is it the same as Keeva?

sara on

Love the name! I prefer the gaelic spelling, Caoimhe, but I can see why they went with the phonetic spelling.
Anyway much better name than Satyana! Congrats!

Teena on

I love photos of just the hands and/or feet with children! Congrat to them & big sister 🙂

tessa on

what a perfect name for a girl! congrats!!

Skip on

Thanks, klutzy_girl, that explains it!

cherrysoda99 on

I LOVE the name Keeva. I do prefer the traditional spelling, but I can definitely understand them wanting to change it to something a little easier. And the little hand picture that Aly posted is adorable! I’m sure little Keeva will be just as sweet as Saty is! Congrats to the whole family!

boohoobytch on

awww, welcome baby Keeva….congrats to them

SkaterMom on

I’m touched, as this is also MY birthday!! ❤

Jason on

Yay for Willow and Wesley!

Maria on

Technically – Caoimhe is pronounced “Kwee-vah” but some parts of Ireland pronounce it Keeva. I can understand using the anglicised version of it because when you see the Irish version written down you kind of think “how do I pronounce that!?”

Lovely name – if I was to have another child, the Irish version would be top of my list(I have two kids with Irish names, one of them is one of those “How do I say it” names)

B.J. (the girl) on

No way!!!! I ADORE the name Keeva/Kiva, but everyone makes fun of it! I think it’s beautiful, and when I was a kid, I called myself Jane. Needless to say, I’m freaking out and so so excited, as I love Alyson and Alexis! 🙂

Misty on

I adore this couple. Congratulations to their little family!

ClaireSamsmom on

Love this family! Congrats to them! Thought I hate to admit, I really don’t care for the name Keeva. I love Jane, though…but I really like traditional names better. Can’t wait to see pictures of her!

seila on

remember when she was pregnant with satyana , looked like was pregnant forever, and now with this one it was so fast… congrats!

taradawes on

Love love love them, so happy for them! Satayna is such an adorable little girl, mommy is eternally youthful, and daddy is a hottie so I imagine this new one is just as beautiful as the rest of her family!

Mandy on

“This is why the paps take pics” Honestly, if that were your child would you really want people bothering you 24/7. Don’t give me the celebrity bull, because they are HUMAN, not SUPERhuman. The family does deserve some privacy especially since they have two children now that they have to protect in full view of the whole world. It’s got to be hard for them. I feel for all celebrities that have to deal with paps climbing over their fences just to get a shot, being clamored when they just want to eat, helicopters flying around outside their homes for a stupid picture. I would not want my entire life on display like that and I don’t know any HUMAN that does. Leave them alone they will show us a picture in due time, ON THEIR TERMS!

MiB on

Love the name Caoife, but I can totally understand using the anglicanized spelling if you live outside Ireland. I have friends named Seonaid, Siobhán, Róisín and Oisin and they have all pondered issuing cards saying “It’s pronounced Shona/Shivonne/Rosheen/Usheen” since they don’t live in Scotland/Ireland anymore, but then, even Sean and Seamus seem to have problems with people misspronouncing their names!

whatever on

I totally appreciate the gaelic names and the tradition….BUT you cannot expect any english speaking person to know that Caoimhe is pronounced Keeva. If you live in Ireland/Wales go ahead but you just can’t do it anywhere else. It’s not like you can even sound it out because the letters don’t mean the same as in english. It might as well be in Chinese letters (and even they will translate the name into a more phonetic english spelling) My name is Amy and that’s like me spelling it fldofidflufo and expecting everyone to know what is says. Good on them for spelling it Keeva.

Jen on

I dont like Keeva at all. Reminds me of skeevy. But I like Jane and Janie.

Sam & Freya's mum on

Stacey I agree with you. Prefer Keeva to her big sister’s name! They obviously like slightly different names. Sure she’ll be a cutie like Satyana!

Ally on

For everyone who keeps referring to Keeva as the ‘phonetic’ spelling for Caoimhe; it’s really not. Caoimhe is pronounced ‘Kweeva.’ I’ve lived in Ireland all my life and have never heard it pronounced Keeva.

Anonymous on

Awww, congrats to them! And to all saying that Satyana is too close to Satan, Alyson has said that it’s pronounced to rhyme with “Tatianna” (and thus I’m guessing her nickname of Saty is pronounced to rhyme with “Tati” a common nickname for Tatianna). So it actually doesn’t sound that much like satan. 🙂
