Inside Jessica Simpson’s Charlotte’s Web-Themed Shower

This pregnancy is a wrap!

A few weeks before daughter Maxwell Drew‘s big debut, Jessica Simpson and her fiancé Eric Johnson celebrated pending parenthood with a Charlotte’s Web-themed baby shower.

Under pretty pink Chinese lanterns and surrounded by (faux!) farmyard friends, the mom-to-be mingled with her guests including sister Ashlee Simpson, nephew Bronx, good pal Cacee Cobb and Jessica Alba along with daughter Haven and she posed for pictures with her many presents.

In between snacking on the food bar’s mini appetizers, scooping Sweet Lucie‘s organic ice cream, and sipping on pink lemonade filled mason jars (complete with retro styled striped straws!), attendees were also treated to diaper pin necklaces and a round at the knitting station.

And to top off the shabby chic celebration, Simpson and Johnson — under a lit up letter M — excitedly opened their gifts, which included a pint-size pair of pink cowboy boots and a blinged out binky.

I thought the same thing, too, Elisa, when I first glanced at the picture… Then I thought about how much weight I gained during my pregnancies, and I wondered if perhaps she was like me and no matter how much she watched her caloric intake and how active she stayed, the pounds just piled on like crazy. With my youngest, I even lost 10 pounds during the first trimester due to morning sickness and then packed on the weight in the 3rd trimester at a rate that made me ill. So much water retention! I looked like I had eaten a horse by the time I finally gave birth.

wow, can’t believe this was weeks before she gave birth!! she must have been so uncomfortable during that last month or so. Looking at the video, though, I still think she’s gorgeous, glowing and so happy. Maxwell will be a very well loved baby!

It looks like a fun shower!

I gained a lot of weight like that. I was carrying around at least 30 lbs of water weight and had to be put on bed rest my last month. She is just a normal pregnant woman, IMO!

OMG! Some people are just plain rude. Like Elisa, who said it looked like she was “eating for 10!” and especially Mb996, who called Jessica “SOME PIG.” Seriously, people, how rude can you get? Who cares if she gained a good bit of weight during her pregnancy? She still looked gorgeous! What did she do to hurt you? Nothing! Kate Hudson reportedly gained 70 pounds her first pregnancy and no one called her a pig! Wow. You people are something else. You need to think next time about how what you say can affect others. I hope no one ever makes fun of you or calls your child a pig.
