Motherhood Makes Beyoncé Feel ‘More Beautiful Than Ever’

She’s an entertainment force of nature, 16-time Grammy winner, and beauty and style icon. But Beyoncé is proudest of one title that also happens to be her most recent: mommy to little Blue Ivy Carter.

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” says PEOPLE’s 2012 World’s Most Beautiful Woman. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”

The “Crazy in Love” singer, 30, and her husband of four years, Jay-Z, 42, have gone gaga for Blue, born Jan. 7 in New York City.

“She’s just the cutest thing,” gushes Beyoncé, who croons one-of-a-kind tunes to her daughter and professes to “love” changing diapers.

So who does her daughter most resemble? “She looks like Blue,” says Beyoncé, who is back to her pre-pregnancy weight and gearing up for her first post-baby concerts, Memorial Day weekend at the Revel Atlantic City. “She’s her own person.”

“The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy,” she adds. “The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.”

Yeah, I can just see this prima donna changing diapers. Gimme a break.

Jennifer on

Wow Mandi, maybe you should go back to bed and try climbing out on the other side.

Congrats to Beyonce’! Motherhood is indeed a beautiful thing!

Stella Bella on

Gag me.

I honestly think people are paid to put out so much negative energy, lol. I jsut can’t see why people feel the need to constantly berate others. I don’t get it.

Anyhow, congrats to Beyonce. She works hard and deserves to experience one of the most primal parts of our human existence.

Lady on

Wow, I really dont understand the negativity towards this woman??? She’s beautiful, talented, hard working, never in magazines for anything etc etc….must be jealousy.

Congrats Beyonce on baby Blue, love how she always incorperates blue into what she’s wearing somehow, so cute!

Ashley on

Nope sorry, Lady, nothing to be jealous of. She just comes across as such a diva, so arrogant. I feel really sorry for that baby…..

Sasha on

Give me a break haters! You wouldn’t hesitate to spend a day in her shoes. Or maybe it’s me that wouldn’t ;)

Jillian on

Not everyone is a fan of everyone. We all have our favorites and people who rub us the wrong way or who we just don’t like. It is called opinions. Not being a fan of Beyonce and “not wanting to wear her shoes,” doesn’t make me jealous or a hater. It makes me having an opinion. There are sports teams and players I like more, just like actors and actresses as well as books and movies….. Why don’t people understand this? Smh…

I can’t wait to see if she’s still going to wear those skimpy outfits in the future as well. I wouldn’t mind it if she did, I just don’t think she looks good in them and it will be interesting to see if motherhood changes the way she exposes her…assets.

NJ “Jillian”, et al; smh is right. That is the problem, as far as some people are concerned. If I don’t care for a certain celebrity, I don’t get on every thread about her/him, and make nasty hateful comments about that person. What some posters are getting soooo tired of is people who say they can’t stand ______ (fill in the blanK), then proceed to have a melt-down about everything that celeb says or does. There are plenty of celebs I don’t care for, am not interested in, or whatever, but I DON”T get on their threads and just whale on them. It’s ceases to be an opinion and becomes venomous hate, which is so unpleasant.

IF you don’t “like” Beyonce, are “not a fan” of Beyonce, or she “rubs you the wrong way”, then just don’t click on the site, and PLEASE don’t start in on the negative, hateful comments, and claims that she never had the baby at all and is using ‘surrogate breastmilk” to feed the baby, etc. Those things are not an opinion, they are ugly hatred for someone you don’t even know, and won’t ever know. She’s a celeb, like her or not, but blind anger and hatred for others is becoming a real problem in our country, and on this site.

I don’t usually comment on Beyonce because I am neither a fan nor do i dislike her. I don’t come on here and spew negativity, though— “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should!”

Not liking someone is one thing, but the meanness that some people put out isn’t cool, imo. It’s like as soon as a certain celebrity is blogged about, there are little trolls ready to stick little, annoying needles into everything. “Oh she’s so this,” “she’s lying,” “she’s not pretty.”

Like, sometimes you just don’t want to read the same mean-spirited crap. Why is it so hard for people who don’t like someone to just move along and ignore the posts?

annie on

I can’t wait to see a current picture of Baby Blue!

Liz on

I can’t stomach her arrogance. And I don’t believe she birthed that baby either. 1) I saw the video where her stomach collapsed when pregnant and 2) her rib bones were fully protruding two months after giving birth. Sorry, that’s abnormal.

sat on

Oh, but my precious “opinion”….

Kelly on

that baby is biologically hers (it looks just like her mom Tina), but is not gestationally hers. THAT is for certain.

Terri on

She is one beautiful mama!

Shannon on

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,”

I guess she did carry the baby.

Anonymous on

Kelly- You should never ever, EVER call a baby “it”! A baby is a person, not an object!

Liz- And it’s not at all possible that she DID have a fake belly on but that it’s purpose was to make her look bigger than she really was rather than make her look pregnant when she wasn’t? I don’t know why people always ignore that possibility.

Marky- “Surrogate breastmilk?” Really, what will people think of next? I mean yes, surrogates DO sometimes provide breastmilk for the babies they carried (I remember Elton John saying that was the case with Zachary’s surrogate), but Beyonce has been seen breastfeeding Blue in public FROM HER OWN BREASTS (granted there are no photos, but people have commented on seeing her do it in restaraunts and such)! Do they think she has the surrogates milk injected into her or something? Good grief!

All of that said, Beyonce sounds like a proud new mother, and I love her comment about how Blue “looks like Blue”. :)

Anonymous on

Also, apparently none of the conspiracy theorists who still insist Beyonce didn’t give birth have seen the, ahem, upper part of her body. All you have to do is look at her chest to know that she is DEFINITLETY BFing! ;)

babies are cute on

For someone who talks about woman empowermen, Beyonce should choose more informed words to express herself. Instead of talking about giving birth making her feel connected,it’ better to say motherhood. There
are many who struggle with infertility and other ways of becoming a momom. She seems insensitive and unconnected to women.

Liz on

Why would Beyonce wear a fake belly to look a bit more pregnant? That might even be worse! And they act like Blue is god’s gift to everyone, much like Suri Cruise was presented. Get over yourselves, please.

Brandi on

@LIZ- Shut the HELL up!!!! you are soooo freaking annoying. you can tell the ones who have nothing better to do with their lives, because the come back to articles to see if someone has said something about their post. Please leave Beyonce alone. If you don’t like her or anything that she has to say then simply skip her article and go to someone elses. SIMPLE AS THAT!!

Grace2 on

I like some of her music, but don’t think she is the most beautiful woman.

And anonymous, you can induce lactation (meaning, you can breastfeed without giving birth by taking supplements and hormones). Women who’ve adopted have done this. Anyway, anyone who says she’s certainly been pregnant if she’s breastfeeding” is not correct.

I don’t understand why Beyonce would fake a pregnancy (if she did), but that deflated belly video/photo really made me question the whole thing.

Anonymous on

Liz- Some people speculated that she may have done that to throw the press off about her due date (i.e., make them think she was due sooner than she really was).

Niko on

To the haters STILL believing she didn’t give birth to her child: Get a life.
