Bo Bice Welcomes Daughter Merrin Elizabeth Joy

Bo Bice is tickled pink!

The American Idol runner-up, 36, and his wife Caroline welcomed their fourth child — and first girl! — on Monday, April 23, the singer announced on his official website.

Daughter Merrin Elizabeth Joy weighed 8 lbs., 11 oz.

“Both mom and baby are doing great!” the site reads, along with a sweet snapshot of the proud new papa cradling his baby girl.

Bice and Caroline — who wed in 2005 — are also parents to sons Ean Jacob, 2, Caleb James, 3½, and Aidan Michael, 6½.

She’s a beautiful baby! It’s awesome that they got a sweet little girl after three boys! She has three big brothers to protect her and I’m sure she will be treated like a princess!

I like the names of all of their kids. It is nice to see famous people choose names that aren’t bizarre.

I love the names of Bo’s four children! They’re not crazy names like some people are naming their children. Bo looks and sings great! Loved him and Carrie on Idol, especially when they sung together. It didn’t matter which one had won.

Congratulations to Bo and Caroline, as well as to the boys!! What a lovely family and a darling baby!! Love the names they chose for all their children; they should be in the “baby-naming business”; so many crazy names being given to children now, I can’t imagine how celebs expect their children not to change their names later! So happy for them; they are just living their lives, he’s making music, and (hopefully) life seems to be good! When you have a large family close together, you just get in the swing of it, and it’s surprising how you can make it work. It’s not for everyone, but it seems to be working for them…….

congratulations to Bo Bice, he seems like such a nice guy I know he’s with the same woman for God knows how long now lol which is amazing.

I adore Carrie and I’m thrilled she won but I’m also super thrilled Bo came in second to her and not further in the back.

I was so disappointed when Bo didn’t win Idol. But maybe it was for the best. He seems to have a great life and maybe the instant fame would have wrecked that possibility. Sweet photo of a sweet baby and daddy.

queenofhearts- Glad to know I’m not the only one that was surprised by this announcement! I tried to remember if I’d seen a pregnancy announcement on here and I have a VAGUE recollection of seeing one, but I could just be imagining things, especially in light of the fact that PEOPLE usually links back to pregnancy announcement posts in birth announcement posts and didn’t do so this time.

So I’m relieved to know I wasn’t going crazy or anything!

That being said, congrats to them! Also, I wonder if Merrin was born at home? The picture in this post looks like it was taken in the baby’s nursery at home rather than at the hospital.
