Mommy Must-Have: Kristin Cavallari’s Tribal Maxi

04/08/2012 at 11:00 AM ET

Make way for Kristin Cavallari (and her dog!).

While out for a walk with her pup Bardot on March 23 in Beverly Hills, the expectant reality star looked relaxed and chic in a colorful maxi.

And although the mom-to-be often hits the red carpet in designer gowns, it turns out this pretty frock is super affordable.

Available at Kmart, it’s Attention Women‘s Tribal Maxi Dress ($21), which features a beautiful print and comfy silhouette.

With such an eclectic mix of maternity pieces, we can’t wait to see what else Cavallari dons during her pregnancy.

I wish you stopped referring to everything as “must haves”. I don’t think we must have it.

Ten bucks says that a designer sent her that dress for free and she had no idea it came from K-Mart.

Why is this woman “famous”?

Thank you Ann for your comment

how is that print in any way “tribal”? Stores need to stop using this term. It’s inaccurate and offensive

Well, it is a super cute casual dress that looks quite comfy for pregnant women to wear in the summer. At $21 it’s also reasonable as most people don’t get to reuse their pregnancy clothes much (unless you have more kids that happen to be born during the same season). I don’t get why there are nothing but negative comments on a story about a cute and affordable dress for pregnant women and where to buy it.

Wonder if its true she’s having a girl?

I don’t understand the maxi dress trend. I hate them. If I’m going to go to the trouble of wearing a dress I want my legs exposed! I feel like wearing a maxi dress would be like putting on a circus tent.

That would suggest a story written really badly. And affordable? Yes. Cute? No way. This dress is ugly.

Dash- The trouble of putting on a dress? What trouble is there? Maxi dresses may not be for everyone, but they’re just meant to be a casual, soft knit dress. If you get the right size, they CAN be flattering. The one pictured here is rather lovely, I think.

Like Ann, I am getting kind of tired of all the “must have” articles. On the other hand, it’s nice to see a “must have” that normal, everyday people can actually afford! Truth be told, I about fell out the chair when I saw this site advertising an affordable dress!

Dash, you would hate the way I dress everyday! As an old order Mennonite, my clothes are long skirts, dresses or jumpers, black tights, black shoes, a prayer kapp and no make up or jewelry. I never wear pants or shorts and my legs are never exposed!

I wish I were taller so I could wear maxi dresses this summer when I’m larger in the middle.

Note: I have no problem with KMart and I think the dress is cute. I was assuming that Miss Cavalari is too much of a snob to shop there.

It is cute on her. I just get nervous with maxi dresses on pregnant women. If it were me I would have ended up flat on my belly from falling every time!!! I have zero grace!

Cute dress!

Aww, that puppy is precious!

Dash, I on the other hand have no trouble wearing dresses, in fact I wear them more often than I wear trousers (I actually own more dresses than I own trousers).

Con, why is tribal offensive? Would you be offended if it was referred to as white, black, colored? Enlighten me please.
