Denise Richards: Eloise Loves Her Big Sisters

As a mom to three girls of varying ages – 8-year-old Sam, 6½-year-old Lola, and 9-month-old Eloise — Denise Richards says it can be challenging to find activities the whole family can do together.

But to bridge the gap, the actress turns to a tradition passed down by her own mother.

“With my mom, dinner was on the table every night at 6 o’clock, so it was something that I grew up with. I think it’s really important to sit around the table and talk about your day,” she tells PEOPLE.

“Eloise is eating solids, so she joins us in her high chair and looks at the bigger girls, and it’s nice.”

As a result, Richards has partnered with Totino’s to urge parents and children to undertake everything from philanthropic endeavors to athletics as a team, something she’s taken to doing with her own children.

“I always include her,” she says of incorporating baby Eloise — whom she adopted in June 2011 — into family events, like Sam and Lola’s soccer matches.

“She loves her big sisters, even just watching them … If we play in the backyard, if I’m playing with the bigger girls, I’ll bring Eloise’s chair so she’s able to be outside and watch us.”

Lucky for Eloise, Sam and Lola are just as taken with their little sister as she is with them.

“They love to feed her, and even when she was a [newborn], they loved holding her,” says Richards, 41, who recently appeared on 30 Rock.

“When Eloise was a little smaller, Lola showed me how she was able to carry her. She put the little blanket on her shoulder and picked her up and was carrying her around like a mom. I couldn’t believe it.”

But now that Eloise is older, her sisters have found a new way to pitch in.

“She’s teething. She has four teeth and two that just broke in,” says Richards. “Whatever we eat, I also give her … I put Eloise in the high chair [and Sam and Lola] help me fix her cereal, and on their own, they’ll feed her.”

Sounds like Sam and Lola really enjoy helping with their baby sister! What a sweet interview.

What a wonderful mom Denise is. Very sweet to open her home and heart to a baby in need of a loving family.

Awwwh what a sweet article and wonderful family. But whats wrong with her face in this picture?

I think it was so lovely of her to adopt Eloise, and I think that doing so when her girls were a bit older was very smart. I feel like they were included in the decision and that is why they’ve taken so well to her. There is a special bond between sisters.

I agree with Ann, she is starting to look really scary. Like plastic surgery gone wrong scary. Is it just me or is she starting to resemble Michael Jackson??

as an adoptive mom myself, I applaud her for bringing Eloise into her family. 🙂 But I have to agree…she is starting to look like a cheap barbie doll! Plastic looking and those “deer in headlights” eyes. ICK! She used to be so natural looking and pretty..why do these celebs do this to themselves?

Denise sounds like she’s such a good mom! Of course she was raised in the midwest and has down home midwestern values and it shows.

Now if she could find a really nice man- and stop looking to rock stars. Go to back to MN and find a down home kind of man! 🙂

I completely agree with her regarding eating together with your family and to include everyone when possible. 🙂 Sounds like a great family to me. I do, however, wonder about her face. Not to be mean but she looks like she’s had too much botox and maybe a botched surgery as well. She should stay away from that and she will be beautiful.

Great family/values. Refreshing! Especially since dad Charlie Sheen is not a great role moldel. I agree she has to stop with the botox and fillers-she looks like a startled owl! Yikes.

Bless them all……what a lovely family.

I loved Denise’s reality show, especially the parts when she was home with her pets. She has strong family values and is a terrific mom, just like her own mother was. She is beautiful inside and out.
