We’re so happy to welcome our newest celebrity blogger, Ali Landry!

A former Miss USA, the model and actress, 38, is currently starring in and executive producing Hollywood Girls Night, airing Sundays at 9 p.m. on TV Guide Network.

Landry is also the founder of Spokesmoms, a product review platform for mothers, and is a supporter of, which works to prevent childhood injuries.

Married to director Alejandro Monteverde since April 2006, the couple are parents to 4½-year-old daughter Estela Ines and 5-month-old son Marcelo Alejandro.

You can find Landry on Facebook and on Twitter @alilandry.

Hi everyone, and welcome to my first blog entry! I am so excited to be able to share my experiences as a mom with all you readers.

I believe that connecting with other moms is so important; after all, we are all on this crazy journey together and no one understands what we’re going through better than each other. We’re all pretty much learning as we go along, so it’s always nice to hear stories from other moms and see how they cope with the different challenges of motherhood.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me back up and introduce myself. Some of you may remember me as the ‘Doritos Girl’ from that Super Bowl commercial a while back, but I’ve been lucky enough to have gotten a few more credits under my belt since then! I am currently working on variety of projects, but my most important one is being a mom to my two precious children: 4½-year-old Estela and 5-month-old Marcelo.

Estela loves learning about bugs (she’s always digging around for new species to show me — ick!), and she spends a lot of time practicing her cartwheels. She is super excited to start kindergarten in the fall and she has gotten very much into her role of big sister now that Marcelo is alert and able to interact with her. She adores singing to him and playing with him, and I have to say the adoration is mutual.

When she is in the room, Marcelo has eyes for no one else (except maybe Daddy’s beard, which he is fascinated by). He is such a happy baby, he even smiles in his sleep. Unfortunately, he’s not a great sleeper. He wakes up repeatedly during the night, and now he’s flipping over on his side which has my nerves shot, so I’m basically up all night with him.

My husband is Alejandro Monteverde, and we have been married for almost six years. He is a film director and we have actually collaborated on a couple of projects, which has been a lot of fun.

As a matter of fact, during the last movie we shot together, Little Boy, I was pregnant with Marcelo. Running around in the Mexican heat wearing authentic 1940s maternity clothes was challenging to say the least!

Needless to say, my plate is pretty full, as I’m sure all of yours are. Juggling work and parental responsibilities is no easy task, but I’m trying my best and just like everything else there are good days and there are bad days.

Even if some days I feel like I’m ready to fall apart, I am ultimately happier than I’ve ever been. My family gives me more joy than I thought possible, and my career fulfills me tremendously. All in all, I feel like am in the exact place I am supposed to be in, doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing.

One thing is for sure though, this adventure is far from over and I promise I will share with you all the ups and downs, the laughter, the tears, the mistakes made and the lessons learned along the way.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I know I will enjoy writing it. I look forward to hearing from all of you, too, so if there’s anything you want to share you can leave a comment below or Tweet me @alilandry.

Until next time!

— Ali Landry

You are so blessed, Estela and Marcelo are simply adorable! Can’t wait to hear more about your family 🙂

dani on

estela standing on the edge of a slippery counter in slippery socks doesn’t exactly look safe.

Welcome to the Blogger world. Great job on your first post!! Beautiful Children, I have five of my own.

Deborah on

She has a website about childhood injuries.. In the first photo it looks like her daughter standing on the edge of a chair/sofa!

Hea on

Ali is so gorgeous my eyes hurt.

JM on

lol, when i first read the comments about a child standing on a slippery counter in socks i hadn’t noticed the picture and assume you all meant the baby. i thought that yeah that was a bit dangerous. then i check and it’s actually her older daughter you’re all talking about.

seriously? is that how you guys parent? the child is 4 1/2. she probably climbs on things at a playground all the time when her mother isn’t standing RIGHT NEXT TO HER in case she slips.

are you those weird parents who put helmets on their kids when they’re just walking around? i mean for god sake. there is nothing dangerous at all about the pick, if she even wobbles her mother is right there to hold her.

get a grip.

anyway, i have no idea who this woman is but she has a sweet looking family. all the best to them.

Ashley on

Awwww I love Ali, I think she is so sweet! Her kids are beautiful too 🙂 Welcome, Ali!

Alise on

This family is gorgeous! Thanks to Ali for her willingness to share her stories with us. Unfortunately, all the hating and criticizing about petty things will undoubtedly come out of the woodwork–just because it can, and because people love to judge.

Julie on

Ali you have a beautiful family!

Sara on

JM-I disagree with your comments. At first, I thought a few of the parents were being a little critical, then I read the article and realized she’s a spokewoman for a child safety web site. Of course kids climb around when you’re not looking. But, her standing right there promoting it is even worse. The reason I don’t like the photo is because it makes her look like a hypocrite. I know it’s only for the photo, but accidents happen and if she fell, this one could have been prevented by not being up there in the first place. And, no, my kids don’t wear helmets around all day. And they do climb around on monkey bars.

That said, I think she is absolutely gorgeous and has a beautiful family!

Sara on

BTW, I just wanted to add that I’m not judging her parenting. All I’m saying is it just seems weird that you would have a web site promoting child injuries, then post a photo of your kid standing at the edge of the counter.

em on

If you look back at the first photo – look for her left arm/hand. You cannot see it – because it is probably behind her daughter, holding onto her!

Julianna on

Estela looks a lot like her mommy, and the picture of Marcelo with Alejandro is simply adorable!

Lola on

Oh gosh Dani, lighten UP! I’m sure it for a .0002 second picture, geeze louise.

Beautiful family, Ali!

dani on

lola, you’re lucky to live a world where the saying “accidents happen” doesn’t apply to you. as the other posters have mentioned, it’s even worse that her mother promotes a child safety website.

Vanessa on

So glad to have you blogging here, Ali. I had the pleasure of sitting next to you and Estela on a flight (almost) 2 years ago and she was such a pleasure to be around! I couldn’t help but melt when I heard her say “please”, “thank you” and “excuse me”. You seem like such a down to earth mom with great values! Can’t wait to read more of your blogs.

carla on

Calm down folks. Ali is using her left hand to hold and provide support to Estella in the photo.

KPR on

Ah I totally understand the no-sleeper thing. I adore my 4 month old daughter SO much. But she continues to wake up every few hours during the night. Isn’t it amazing how much we are able to evolve when we have little ones? If you made me get up every 3 hours before I had children I would be the absolute worst person in the world! But when it’s to check on her or feed or meet her needs … exhausting as it is … it’s worth it 🙂 I can’t wait to hear all about your family. Especially Marcelo’s sleeping milestones … from one sleepy mom to another … good luck! I’ll be following 🙂

Brook on

Sara and Dani- my first comment would be are you parents? My second would be I would LOVE to look through your pictures to critique all of them to show you anything that your child might be harmed in doing! Lighten up! She is right there people!

Doreen on

That child is RIGHT on the edge waiting for an accident to happen!! People don’t USE their heads that’s for sure!! Stupidity.

stacey on

waa,waa,waa,-so many jealous people in this world. So many that just have to find something to gripe about. Excited to read your blogs and your little girl is just darling!!!

Jordan on

I’m not sure how blind you people are, but if you take a moment to look at “Landry is … is a supporter of, which works to prevent childhood injuries.” and the look immediately to the left, you’ll see that the little girl is on the very edge of the counter (her right foot barely on it) in socks which doesn’t seem safe even with Ali holding her from the back. Accidents can happen really quickly even with a parent there. That’s what the two who are actually looking see as well as I do.

In other news, she does have a beautiful family.

Monica on

I think it’s funny that other people noticed the daugther standing on the counter. That’s the first thing I saw in the pix but figured it was just me that would absolutely not allow my kids to stand on the counter (period) but would definitely not allow one foot on, one foot off- even if I was standing right there. But to each their own- I guess I’m just a worry wort. My daughter has fallen off her chair at the dinner table onto the tile floor and chipped both her 2 front teeth so I hate to think what would happen if she fell from a tall counter.

Jillian on

She does not look like she has her arm around her daughter. Looks like they are behind her own back. If she was not an advocate for safety, I wouldn’t think this is such an issue. It appears hypocritical. This doesn’t make me or anyone jealous, Stacey…it’s called having an opinion.

amore on

OMG!! You people are why I can’t stand blogs!!!!!!! You ruin it for everyone. You seriously are looking that deep into the photos. Take a walk, ride a bike instead of sitting behind a computer all day with your really depressing life and be debbie downer. I really can’t believe people. SICK!

Shannon on

It looks like her daughter is about to slip and fall.

Wow, she is holding onto her daughter, she is fine. Advocate for safety or not, her daughter is safe. Everyone holds their babies up on counters/floors to stand safely and they can’t even stand by themselves!

Kandee43 on

Ali I’m so sad that our Satellite provider doesn’t offer The TVGN channel so I can’t watch your show, Hollywood Girls Night. I’ve even checked HULU, no luck. Is there another way I can watch your show? Blessings to you and your family.

Jessica on

Its nice to know that you feel the same way i do…and just because you are “famous” doesnt make it any different…

^^^^^ and if you dnt have anything nice to say dnt say it at all…
don’t go on the blogs and read you nosey little punks.. bc guess what your just like they say “miserable loves company”…soo sad

Fab on

Ohhhhh please STFU!!!! That child is not goingbtobfall AND I BETCHA…. That the arm that you CAN’T SEE is probably behind her daughters back….. JUST IN CASE… Total weirdos on this site… I’m sure none of you with this issue as never had a kid with and injury…. SMMFHRH!

Lori on

I think she has a beautiful Family HOWEVER, I am in no way saying what Mario Lopez did to her was right but it seems like everytime she opens her mouth on that TV Guide series, she is bashing him. Enough already.

Nina on

My only comment to you is perhaps you could take some of that happiness that you proclaim and turn it into a little class. Your comments about Mario Lopez after all of these years were classless and showed your true colors. Please tell me what positive effect did you have on the world with your revelations? Was it because he is a new father and has a fiance?

I’m no fan of infidelity, but I’m much less of a fan of gratuitous “sharing” that is really passive aggressive behavior. I hope you’ll teach your children something better than to commit the felony of wiretapping.

mimi on

what are gorgeous family. the kiddies are too cute!

Alyssa on

i don’t think she realizes she’s on the edge of the counter i think she put her there only for the photo b/c maybe her daughter wanted be as tall as her mother for the picture instead of Ali’ bending down.

I understand she has a children’s injuries website but in order to have that website there need to be children injured not saying hers but it happens to everybody.

LrB on

Wow, first blog post and the hissing mothers are already attacking. I love the “I’m not criticizing her parenting but I would never let my child do that” comments. anyway…

I watched your Girls Night Out show the other night and loved it. I plan to check it out again. And your blog as well. It’s always nice to hear from other mothers that could be going through the same things you are. Unlike the perfect mothers who never do anything wrong or have bad days.

jbeltran722 on

Really who on here are actually parents… have to agree with comment made- kids do climb on anything and everything. judging much are we- My daughter was into everything and anything at that age and not much has changed at 8 years old- and can assure you that my mind and eyes were and are into everything my daughter does as I am sure Ali Landry had the situation under control… It was a family moment and fun moment and you have to take it away from her – give me a break or more fitting get better lives if that is all you got

love ali!! her boy is the cutest baby on the planet-hes going to be a heart breaker and daughter is so pretty. watching hollywood club she seems the most down to earth!i love how she said she doesnt do kissing scenes-stick to your values ali-you are diamond in the rough, any friends who would try to talk you out of that dont respect your good values. her husband alejandro is also a gem-he chooses to do work he believes in with good messages

AWWWW!!!!! Marcelo is SOOOOO adorable!! I just wanna reach out and hug him! Estella seems so sweet and funny. And Ali, you are GORGEOUS!! Glad your making the blog! -Just Me;)

I met her once when I was 16 years old at the Glendale Galleria. She is so beautiful! I will always be a fan! She was so super sweet to me. She was walking with her parents around the mall. I asked if I could take a picture with her. Her mom took the picture for us and they still asked me after the picture was taken if I liked that one or wanted another one. I mean, how sweet is that!!!! They didn’t rush me or anything. She seemed genuinely happy to pose with a fan. I wish her the absolute best. I am so glad she has found happiness. Beautiful mommy, daddy, and children.

I’ve been trying to order that kicky pants outfit from for months. It is always out of stock!!

Christa on

People are only human! Sheesh..Looks like a silly, ” mug for the camera” shot. Highly doubt that anyone would let that beautiful, little girl slip and fall. How about a few kind words about what a beautiful family she has?

I’m also a huge fan of Hollywood Girls Night. Keep up the good work, Ali!

Amy on

Love girls night. Both of the Ali’s are so nice!

Simplicity on

It’s simple, the picture some of you are referring to, where her daughter is at the edge of the counter, look closely!! This little girl would NOT have been able to balance herself unless her mother had her secure with her arm,not hard to conclude!! Why some need to find the negative in all is boring to me! I love her blog, her life and her! Great job Ali, looking forward to more!

Tonya Richard on

I am so excited to read your blog. I hope all of the people making ugly comments don’t scare you off! I am from Lafayette, so am always excited to see anything about you! Your children are beautiful, so glad you have such a lovely life!

ali youve allways been great…keep it up!!

i came for the comments and you did not disappoint! its so fun to see comments from complete strangers upset my someones different opinion. YES! you are a marvel of awesomeness! you who are so laid back and FREE! “she’s a good mom. see, she’s holding her daughters ankle” (evidence if there ever was any!) if only you met this woman in the article (whoever she is) i’m sure she would thank you and you would be besties! lol, thanks ladies!

Good to get an update on you Ali. We are about to have the Breaux Bridge crawfish festival this weekend. Keep making the world beautiful. Southern Belle Deluxe– Louisiana not only has beautiful brunettes but their southern charm shines wherever they go. You can take the girl out of the South but you can’t take the South out the girl. Keep on keepin on. A big hello from Saint Martin Parish!!!!!!

Grlp on

Geez people can be so critical. It almost makes one hesitant to share.

To support that safety website she became certified in carseat safety and participates in events to create awareness. So many children are killed in automobile accidents because they aren’t properly strapped in to their seats or because their seats aren’t installed properly. How silly of you all to criticize the fact that she promotes safety then call her hypocritical. I suppose it would be more acceptable to you all if she just didn’t take an interest or active role in the promotion of that site so that letting her daughter stand on a counter for a photo would seem more in line with a general unsafe parenting attitude. I’m sure you would still find something to pick apart.

Nina- I heard Mario on Howard stern months before the Hollywood girls night aired talking about the same thing. It’s as much a part of her life as it is his. If he can discuss it this long after it has happened, why can’t she? I’m wondering why all of a sudden these show hosts are interesred in the story enough to ask after all this time! I actually think what she shared on the Wendy Williams show was perfectly positive and said nothing negative about him. She just opened up about her experience. She could have done far worse. She was asked to share on Oprah immediately after it happened but she felt like she had nothing positive to give to anyone else by sharing at that time.
Please be nice!
