It’s a boy for James and Kimberly Van Der Beek!

The couple welcomed their second child, a son, on Tuesday, March 13, the actor announced via Twitter.

“Had my first son this morning… well, actually, my wife had him. I just caught him. Wow. Heart expanding way faster than my brain,” James, 35, writes.

“If you could bottle up and distribute this feeling, I swear there’d be no more war. #fatherhood”

The new addition joins big sister Olivia, 17 months.

“Had such a blessed and miraculous birth experience. Cannot wait to share it with all of you!” Kimberly Tweeted later in the evening.

“Thank you for all the love and good wishes. I can feel it all. xo”

The pair, who were married in August 2010, shared the news that they were expecting again in October.

“Just when we thought we couldn’t feel any more blessed, it seems the universe has plans to give our daughter a sibling,” he wrote at the time.

The actor’s new series, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23, premieres April 11 on ABC.

well he is right about the war part. His body was flooded with oxytocin, the bonding hormone, that comes with major life events like weddings and births and sex. Its literally what holds our society together. so yes, we’d likely have no war if everyone was nursing all the time. 🙂 congrats on your baby.

Why is there no name??

Sarah- I’m guessing because they haven’t decided on one yet. Anyway, congrats to them, and I can’t wait to see pictures and hear the name! I also love how he gave Kimberely all the credit! 🙂

His wife is stunning! I just saw a picture of their daughter recently and she is quite a beauty.

James does have a nice way of saying things and while I wouldn’t call him an A-List actor, he is certainly better than D-List and is well known to many readers of this blog.

I enjoy hearing James’ good news and wish him and his family well.

I thought he cheated on her with another woman. Regardless, congratulations to you and your wife on your new baby boy.

I see the article has been update with a tweet from Kimberly since it was first posted, and I’m glad to hear that this birth apparently was a lot smoother than Olivia’s (I was just reading the post with her introductry photos, and Kimberly mentioned that she pushed for 4 1/2 hours, which culminated in Olivia getting stuck under her pelvic bone and needing to be delivered with the help of vacuum extraction. She had also wanted to go completely natural but ended up giving in and getting drugs because of the difficulties. Incidentally, the article also includes a quote from James saying Kimberly is a “much better breastfeeder than I am!” He sounds like a very funny guy! :))!

Oh, and to the person who asked how old Kimberly was, in the article with Olivia’s first photos, it listed her age as 28. Since that was back in December 2010, that would put her at 29 or 30 now depending on when her birthday is. 🙂
