ok, i understand HUGELY praising children when they learn to use the potty. with my kids we made a big deal out of it….in the family. yes, me, my husband and the kids. there’d be lots of whooping, clapping, praising and a little treat to celebrate the graduation to big girl/boy pants. but that’s it. no telling the neighbours, no party, no cake, no decorations. i don’t see the need to involve anyone outside the immediate family in the fact that my child just did something that everyone does every day for the rest of their lives. having an actual party for this is beyond comprehension? seriously some people really have more money than sense.

trust me, NO ONE will find the fact that your child is potty trained even a fraction as exciting or interesting as you do, and this coming from someone who has potty trainer 5 children. momentous progressions for me and my husband but for everyone else, totally inconsequential.

I did not know that Satyana was born at home! That’s awesome! I’m hoping that they are able to have a second home birth like they want!

My thoughts exactly, JM. They can do whatever they want, but why do they think anyone actually cares that their kid can use a toilet? Everyone’s kid learns how to use a toilet.

People these days want to praise their kid for everything. This is not healthy! They will eventually expect it for everything.

I have friends on Facebook who are constantly announcing when they baby or toddler has made a #2….

Believe me ladies, those of us without kids not only don’t care, we find this sharing on information to be disgusting. Seriously. Keep it to yourself.

If I were invited to a poop party, I’d laugh in the face of the parents. Absurd.

I thought the part was meant to be a promotion of the potty dance….
