Michael Lynche Welcomes Son Kingston Michael
While Michael Lynche was on the verge of a career breakthrough during season 9′s Hollywood Week of American Idol, his wife Christa was about to give birth to their first child.
When daughter Laila Rose arrived on Jan. 13, 2010, Lynche cried with joy over the phone — and on television.
Now the family has added a new member — and this time, all were present for the arrival of Kingston Michael Lynche, born Tuesday, Feb. 22 in New York City, weighing in at a healthy 7.25 lbs.
“We go home Thursday morning,” an elated Lynche, 28, reports to PEOPLE. “Much different experience than last time! No issues at all.”

Since coming in fourth place on American Idol, Lynche has been working on a debut album he will release this spring on Big 3 Records, doing charity work in his native St. Petersburg, Fla., and touring.
“The best part of life after Idol has been my wife Christa and my baby Laila getting to travel everywhere with me,” Lynche says. “Now that we’re adding a new little one to our family, we couldn’t be happier!”
