Another Bachelorette baby!

Jen Schefft and husband Joe Waterman will welcome their second child this summer, PEOPLE confirms. The former reality star, 35, is three months pregnant.

“Jen and her husband Joe are thrilled to be expecting again,” a source tells PEOPLE.

“They are looking forward to expanding their family, and their daughter [Mae Elizabeth, 14 months] is especially excited about becoming a big sister.”

Schefft won Andrew Firestone‘s heart on The Bachelor in 2003, then went on to star in her own season of The Bachelorette two years later.

The Chicago-based Schefft met Waterman, a trader, on a blind date in 2008 and the couple tied the knot in May 2009. They welcomed their first child on Nov. 13, 2010.

Congrats to them! I always liked her. I highly doubt the 14 month old is “especially excited”….as if she understands the concept LOLOL!

While that is exciting and nice to have siblings close together, I highly doubt their 14mo. old daughter (that may speak approx. 15words) is expressing direct excitement over becoming a big sister. Pretty sure she hasn’t a clue what is going on-at least most 14mo. olds that I know would not. Absolutely nothing wrong with this couple and their family-great news, just the commenting of that is a bit trite and lame.

Susan on

Congrats to them, but come on, their 14 month old doesn’t have a clue what’s going on so she’s not excited.

Tara on

good to see she’s moved on from seeking fame & actually is trying to have a stable life!

and you guys have nothing better to do than to pick that out of the article and peck it to death. How many times have those words come out of your mouth about your child being excited about something knowing darn well they have no clue….it’s just your way of including them? If you haven’t, you are lying.

Sarah on

Good grief, I say things like that about my dogs too, but I know they don’t know what I’m saying they’re excited about. It’s just how people talk. It’s a sweet, funny way to respond to questions. If you have nothing better to do than pick apart some lady you do not know’s words, get a, job, get a hobby, get a life!!

Jen on

Karen, really? When I was pregnant my son was 15 months old and knew EXACTLY what was going on. Give little ones some credit…geesh! I am sure she is “especially excited”. Congrats to the family!

I guess I should have aimed my comment at all the above except for Anon and not just singled out Karen.
And, molly.one quite a few 14 month old’s can speak more than 15 words!!!

Congrats! Can’t wait to hear what they name him/her… I adore the name Mae Elizabeth!

why is she in the “celebrity” section? people, please have the next story you do about her be that she was dating someone throughout taping the bachelorette (which is why she never chose anyone)… a lot of people in chicago already know this, and giving more attention to someone who will publicly date other men while in a serious relationship is just sad.

Jen,

Actually only some 14 month olds speak more than 15 words and that is considered to be a very advanced thing to do at 14 months – but yes, some can. Not sure where that discussion came from, it’s not talked about in the story. Just someone commenting that it’s hard for a baby with limited vocabulary to express excitement (as if the baby can’t light up with a big smile when her mom tells her she’s got a little bro or sis in her tummy).

Congrats to Jen and her husband. But I have a different take on the continued coverage of Jen than Sophie does. I don’t entertain rumors and could care less what she was doing outside of her reality show (probably because I don’t think a show like the Bachelor/Bachelorette should be taken seriously) but she did a reality show and then left the lime light and is living an ordinary life. Why does that continue to qualify for coverage?

Congrats to them! And as for why she continues to be featured on sites like this, I’m guessing it’s because she’s famous for being famous. I’m also guessing that the coverage will probably lessen within a few years. We’ve never seen her daughter, as far as I know, and this is the first I’ve heard about her or her husband in quite awhile. Also, we hear virtually nothing about Trista Sutter (who’s claim to fame, like Jen’s, is that she once starred on The Bachlorette) and her family anymore, whereas we used to hear about them quite a bit.

So I could be totally wrong, but after this baby is born, I don’t expect that we’ll be hearing about her seeing her much at all.

I speak for my dogs and cat all the time too. It’s just a fun expression. My aunt speaks for her 6 month old the same way. It’s cute.

Viera on

No way the little one is exited about a new sibling ..She has no idea what that entitles LOL Plus ones the baby comes she will be real pissed that the attention will be focused on the new baby …My son went ballistic when I brought his sister home from hospital and he was 2 ….Good luck to her ,first 6 months are HELL.

kathy on

no way in heck is a 14 month old excited for a sibling. they have no clue what that means at that age.

Holly on

She was my favorite contestant on that show, and the first few years of the Bachelor shows were the best. Now they are all just trash, reality tv and do stunts for ratings.

Mae Elizabeth has issued the following statement through her publicist:

“I must respond to the disparaging comments referencing my feelings about the arrival of my sister. I want to make it clear that I am truly excited about the anticipated arrival of my younger sibling. My commitment to my family is reflected in the fact that I have toilet-trained myself and no longer need to sleep in a crib. My legal team will pursue remedies against any parties who cast any aspersions relative to my current and future excitement levels.”

Robby, you should read Suri’s Burn Book. Google it. Hilarious. That is all.
