From her dramatic make-up to her eccentric ensembles, Gwen Stefani is all about setting the bar high in the fashion world.
However, since the births of her two sons Kingston, 5, and Zuma, 3, the designer isn’t the only one pushing the limits.
“I like them to be creative and have fun. I’d love to be part of it — don’t get me wrong,” Stefani, 42, says of dressing her boys in the November issue of InStyle.
“Sometimes they’ll get dressed and it’s horrifying. But they often come out in outfits that are awesome.”
A hands-on mom to her children with husband Gavin Rossdale, Stefani admits combining her catwalk looks with motherhood has proven to be a challenge.

Skyler Morrison Berman, 6 months, shares a laugh with mom Rachel Zoe while attending the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles, held Oct. 9 at Will Rogers State Historic Park.
“I put him in really beautiful clothes, but they’re all soft and comfy. I think he’s going to rebel and just be like, ‘I’m wearing a soccer uniform,’” the stylist and designer, 40, says with a laugh.
“‘I’m wearing Adidas and Nike, Mom. That’s it.’”
Also joining Zoe and husband Rodger Berman for the day? Actress Selma Blair and her newborn son, Arthur Saint.

Robert Downey Jr.’s wife Susan hid her growing belly under layers of shiny satin Saturday night at the American Cinematheque tribute, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The film producer, 37, laid down the law to her actor husband, Downey joked.
The couple know the sex of the baby, due in February, and have also picked out a name, but “I am under strict orders to discuss neither,” the actor, 46, told E! Online.
Downey is already dad to son Indio, 18.
