James Van Der Beek is expanding his family — wife Kimberly is pregnant with their second child.

“Just when we thought we couldn’t feel any more blessed, it seems the universe has plans to give our daughter [Olivia, 13 months] a sibling,” the actor announced via Twitter.

The former Dawson’s Creek star and Kimberly¬†were married Aug. 1, 2010, and welcomed their baby girl the following month.

Van Der Beek’s new series, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23, airs this January on ABC.

Congratulations to them! Was pretty surprised to see this announcement this morning.

The Epic Celeb Baby Boom of 2011/2012 is really hitting those random celebs. No one fertile is safe!

This is so exciting! I’m the mom of two children very close in age so I love when I see other people with the same! Congrats to James, Kimberly and Olivia

This is great news. I wonder if they’ll have a little boy this time or a sister for Olivia. Excited to hear the name too because it should be something normal like Olivia.

I wonder when she’s due? great news!

Lissette, LOL! As someone with the name “Jessica”, 1981’s top 5 most popular baby girl name, an original name is not always a bad thing!! And, ironically, humorously, I’m married to a David, 1981’s most popular baby boy name.

Thus, we named our daughter Lilith Winter, in part because of our nearly anonymous existence amongst so many other Davids and Jessicas! Cherish your original name! : )

Nothing wrong with more common names. Like their daughter, my oldest daughter is Olivia (9 years old). The name is very popular but it’s classic and beautiful. I think common names can be good as they aren’t those “trendeee” names like Madison, Mackenzie, etc, etc, that totally date you so people will always know exactly which 5 year span you were born in.

Names like Olivia or Emma or Elizabeth may be popular but they are not trendy. I know 80 year olds with all those names. And sometimes you pick a non-popular name and there ends up being someone else with the name anyways! My daughter Olivia has never had another Olivia in her class at school but imagine my shock when the class lists went out and I saw that my other daughter, who I thought had a more uncommon name, had another Eliana in her class! So now she is destined to be Eliana P. all year. You can’t win!
