It’s been a while since he changed diapers, but Bruce WillisΒ is gearing up to be a dad again!

The actor and wife Emma, a designer and model, are expecting their first child together early next year, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

The couple “are overjoyed with this news and they look forward to welcoming this newest addition into their family,” the statement reads.

Willis, 56, and Heming, 35, were married in March 2009.

The actor also has three children — Rumer, 23, Scout, 20, and Tallulah, 17 — with ex-wife Demi Moore.

Congratulations to them! Wonder if it’ll be another girl, or if they’ll have a baby.

And LOL, the Epic Celeb Baby of 2011/2011 continues with the striking of random celebs! Hee, no one fertile is safe this time around!

Sarah Beth on

I’m pretty sure it will be a baby even if it’s a girl, klutzy_girl… πŸ˜‰

LOL, I wondered if someone was going to call me on that typo! Of course I meant boy!

Aw, that’s great news for Bruce and Emma, and his daughters, of course.

Liberty on

I’m all for “love knows no age” but its just a little bit creepy that Rumer is closer in age to her stepmother than she will be her stepsibling, lol.

Jillian on

Rumor is actually closer in age to her stepdad. I don’t think it’s creepy as long as they are all happy!

Congrats to all!!

Alecia on

@Liberty, Rumer is even closer in age to her step-father. In any event, hoping Emma has a safe pregnancy & a healthy baby.

J on

Liberty I think that ship has passed when Demi and Ashton got together.

Hea on

I didn’t even know he was married.

Karen on

Yikes, didn’t even know he was married. That’ll be a fun time for a 60 year old dropping his child off at Kindergarten. Yeah, Rumer is actually closest in age to the woman Ashton cheated with.

congrats bruce! there are a lot of haters, but few who see how much in love you are. the new baby is lucky to have you. cant wait to hear the name!

Shannon on

She looks like a young Demi. He’s too old.

What’s the big deal? My dad was 54 when I was born (mom was 34). There were no problems dropping me off. He is my dad, that is all that matters. No one ever mentioned his age. He is now 79 β€” best dad I could ever ask for.

My half brother (same dad) is 11 years younger than my mom.

Cograts to Bruce and his wife!

I actually thought him and his wife had a baby together already… I must be thinking of someone else. Kevin Costner possibly. Congrats!

Mina on

I’m just wondering what the name will be….with Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, its gotta be crazy (unless Demi came up with those names)….but he had to agree with them.

Mia on

Congrats to them!

Liberty, it’s not going to be her step-sibling, it will be her half-sibling. They have the same father.

cara on

Gosh, she is stunning ! She does look a bit like a young Demi.

Congrats to them.

Bruce is still a yummy daddy. I have always had a crush on him and still do. CONGRATS to him and Emma I wish her a healthy and happy pregnancy and a safe delivery.

YAY for babies πŸ™‚

I’m soooooo excited!!!

Congrats to them! Obviously, I don’t know them personally, but from all I’ve seen/read/heard, he seems like a great dad!

Liberty, Rumer doesn’t have any step-siblings. Step-siblings don’t share parents. Step-siblings are related by marriage, not blood . . .

nancy on

Gross, she looks like his daughter…….yuck! Poor child.

Congrats to Bruce and his wife. I am hoping whatever they name the baby, that the name will be a little more normal than his daughter’s names.

Ali on

Congrats to them! I am not a big fan of older men having kids with younger women…it just seems a bit odd to me. I know people always say, “Age doesn’t matter! You can die at any time even if you are a young person!” but still…it always seems pretty unfair to me to bring a child into the world KNOWING you aren’t going to really be there for them as long as you could have been.

Bruce is going to literally be an elderly man in his 70’s when his son graduates high school. Who knows if he will even get to meet his own grandchildren? It’s just a little sad to me. BUT, to each their own. It’s not something I understand or really respect but it is what it is.

Every baby is a blessing and I know they have the means to provide for him/her and that is great. I wish them the best.

soph on

Wow, Ali, had to write an essay on the fact that you find older men having children “odd” and “sad”? No one cares.

Ali on

Soph, you are rude.

Jillian on

Bruce could die at 100 when his child is 44 and has children and grandchildren themselves, making him a great grandfather. We just don’t know.

DVH on

I agree w/Ali and it’s from personal experience so you can’t argue w/that. I have 4 people in my family whose parents were older—over 40—when they were born, and all 4 of them say they wished their parents were younger as they were too tired or going through health issues [from aging] and couldn’t do a lot of things with them. Nor did these parents want to—they were slowing down while their kids were ramping up. Bruce Willis is 56! Well they’ll hire a daddy nanny or something.

Mellissa on

For everyone griping about age, Emma isn’t a young girl, she’s 35. That’s not old, but she’s HARDLY a child, and decently older than Bruce’s eldest. Give it a rest already. How about congratulating them instead of spewing hate?

MiB on

DVH, I know several people whose parents were over 40 when they were born, only one of them has ever complained, but her father was 66 when she was born and her main complaint was that he didn’t understand that times have changed since he last raised children.

Maybe Americans get older earlier? (At least that’s what is sound like the way you tell about their health issues from aging.) In most cases I have found that people who have children later keep fit longer. Take my stepfather for instance, he had his last child at 42, and he was and still is a very involved father; most people don’t believe me when I tell them how old he is! And Bruce Willis seems quite fit to me at least, I’m sure he’ll be able to keep up.

Cattywood on

Well, I think Bruce is adorable but i sure hope he and Emma make cuter babies than him and Demi. They have the shape of Bruces face…just not attractive. Just saying…..

Pam on

How about just saying, Best Wishes for a healthy baby. Stop with all the cut downs.

I think if you are going to date/marry and the person is your childs are a pedophile.
