Sesame Street Debuts Adorable New Video from ‘I Love My Hair’ Muppet

Zach Hyman/Sesame Street/AP

Just when we thought “I Love My Hair” was their cutest skit ever, Sesame Street releases another video that’s just as adorable.

This time, the same plucky Muppet sings about being anything you want to be in “Change the World.”

Backed by two sequin-clad singer/dancers, she belts out lyrics that describe her many professional options including Supreme Court Justice, astronaut and U.S. President.

It’s a “Girls Run the World” for the mini set.

Mom-to-be Beyoncé Knowles would be so proud.

This is not adorable. Old school sesame street from the 80s was adorable.

I absolutely think it’s adorable. I’m a fan of old school sesame street as well, it debuted when I was in preschool. But old school sesame street used songs and music popular at that time, and current sesame street has new stuff coming out inspired by what’s big in pop culture today. Just because it’s current doesn’t make it less adorable.

I like your idea of “old school” Anonymous. 80′s? Sesame Street has been around a lot longer than that.

- cn tower on

Really anonymous? Sesame Street has used pop music from each of it’s decades in the shows, heck even Stevie Wonder performed “Superstition” LIVE on Sesame Street. Get a grip.

LOve love love this!! So positive and fun!

Wow maybe you all should get a grip, not me. Since when can no one speak their minds without getting attacked? I wasn’t being rude or disrespectful, you all were. Yes, sesame street copies what the current trends are but regardless they have lost the essence of what made them special in the past just like all the other tv shows out there. Thousands of people agree with me. And seriously, whats with the comment dissing me for calling it old school? It is old school since it was over 20 years ago. Yes I do know that it was around before the 80s. Seriously people!

What was the essence, Anonymous? I was with you until you said that :)

The song should include..”It won’t be me, but I hope some of you girls will grow up to take on a minimum wage paying job where you will care for my children all day long 5 days a week while I change the world. Staying at home raising kids would be a total waste of my education and time….la la la la”

Wow, Avery! Did someone force you to give up your dreams? BEcause there is nothing wrong with having dreams, and there is nothing wrong with pursuing them. I would also say that a mother who enjoys what she is doing is going to be a better mother than one who doesn’t, wether it’s being a stay at home mom, an astronaut or a president.

- MiB on

Avery — I can tell you right now that I have more respect for the mother who works to take care of her children than the many mothers who stay home and don’t. I have tons of respect for women who CAN stay at home, but I also know that in today’s world, that can’t be a reality for everyone.

Cool!

No dreams given up here! I think it’s sad that raising children isn’t included in a girls dream anymore. It’s considered a waste of education and career when a woman decides to stay home and raise children. Sad really!
