Jo Dee Messina Expecting Second Child

Jo Dee Messina‘s country crew is expanding — the singer is expecting her second child.

“Our family is very excited. In a few months, Chris, Noah and I will be welcoming BABY #2!!!” Messina, 41, announced via Twitter Wednesday.

The new addition will join big brother Noah Roger, 2½, the singer’s first child with husband Chris Deffenbaugh, whom she wed in October 2007 — and hopefully the baby will have a smile like its sibling!

“I get [Noah] out of his crib first thing in the morning and there he is — huge smile,” Messina says. “He’s a very happy soul, which is a blessing.”

This is great! I’m glad she’s conquered her problems with alcohol and is now enjoying a happy, sober life! She’s so talented and I’ve heard first-hand that she’s super-kind to her fans. All the best to her!

Got to meet her a couple years ago…she is so great and continues to make great music. It’s her atrocious record label that won’t release it but she’s still got it. Best of luck to her and her husband!!!!!

The math doesn’t add up….if she has been married since ’07…and this is the couples 1st child together…. where did the other child come from?

- D Hibbard on

@D Hibbard: The article states that Noah is their first child. This baby will be their 2nd child.

- Grace on

D Hibbard the first child came from 2009.

Anyway congrats to you Jo Dee and family on the new addition. I hope you have a healthy baby and that God blesses you and your family. Maybe this time will be a little girl.

Wonderful news! Congrats!

Hope the baby doesn’t have Down’s Syndrome or she suffers a miscarriage since she’s 41. She’s also a known drinker. Hope she doesn’t drink while pregnant.

- Mermaid on

@ Mermaid…..that was really rude of you to say.

- Regina on

@ Mermaid. You really are being rude. Just because you are over 40 doesn’t mean you will have a downs syndrome baby or a miscarriage. Many over 40 Mom’s have healthy babies. Show some compassion and wish her well.

- Mommybear on

@Mermaid,
you’re have nothing to do than writing these stupid things. I know enough women above 40 years who had healthy children.

Mom Said It

"I've always wanted more children and [I] had to make a decision: Do I wait to find the right partner or do it on my own? I was open to either gender and started the process two years ago."
