Now that Lisa Loeb is getting more rest as a mom, she’s turning her attention to fun projects including starring on Disney‘s Jake and the Never Land Pirates. But she isn’t just lending her speaking voice. In a new episode (“SkyBird Island is Falling”), the musician sings a song with the rest of the cast.

And lucky for her, daughter Lyla Rose, 22 months, can enjoy it. “We usually stay away from too much music at night because it’s just another activating activity, instead of putting her to sleep.”

So how does Loeb feel about her recurring role on the popular cartoon series? “It’s a great job because it really works with my flexible music schedule,” said Loeb recently. “It’s almost the best of both worlds. I get to be a full-time parent, but also get to work.”

Loeb’s current episode airs on Oct. 26 at 1:30 p.m. and Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. For more information, go to disney.com.

I’ve watched this because it airs between episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, my daughter’s beloved show, in our area and it is cute enough. It might be just me, but the gold coins they collect through out the show never add up the same at the end, which defeats any counting learned by the program.

In the singing stones, Jake, Cubby, Izzy, and Skully decided to go on an island to dance with the singing stones. Captain Hook wanted to take the island and he lassoed it with rope to the Jolly Roger with his crew. Sharky, Bones, and Mr. Smee were mad at Captain Hook because he took the island from the popinjays.
Izzy flew off with pixie dust for an emergency.
