Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic

When Poppy Montgomery left television behind in 2009, she did so with one goal in mind: to spend more time with her son Jackson.

“I had just had my son. I had been away so much for the first year of his life,” the actress, 39, tells USA Today of her decision to step back from the spotlight following the end of her show, Without a Trace.

“I needed to take the time and actually be like mommy for a minute.”

However, it didn’t take long for Montgomery to realize that the demands of motherhood far exceeded her responsibilities on set.

“[Taking care of Jackson was] more challenging than anything I’ve ever done at work,” she admits.

Kendra Wilkinson: I’m Not Ready for Another Baby

Denis Castro/Beverly News

A year ago, Kendra Wilkinson said she and hubby Hank Baskett were “definitely” planning to get pregnant again within the next 12 months.

Now the Kendra star, 26, is rethinking things a bit, telling PEOPLE instead that she’s decided to “hold off for a little bit longer.”

But even though Wilkinson isn’t in baby-making mode now, Baskett, 29, is ready for the happily married couple’s son, Hank IV, who turns 2 in December, to have a little playmate.

“Hank actually talks about having another baby a lot more than I even think about having another baby,” the former Girls Next Door star tells PEOPLE.

“I don’t know when that’s coming. Whenever I feel it’s time, then it’s time.”

Add tooth fairy to David Arquette‘s resumé.

After his daughter Coco, 7, excitedly cheered him on during his Dancing with the Stars debut Monday, the doting dad helped set up a special Tuesday morning for her.

“After she left the show, she lost a tooth,” Arquette, 40, told PEOPLE on Tuesday. “I had her that night, so the ‘tooth fairy’ came and left her some little things.”

Arquette — who says his little one was “jumping and screaming and had the biggest smile on her face,” after watching her dad win over judges with his Viennese waltz — surprised her later with “a little money, but also a bracelet” when he played “fairy.”
