As they breeze from the drugstore to the playground to their local coffee shop, celeb moms and moms-to-be may look like they just stepped right out of a photo shoot, but, with crazy schedules and kids to care for, the reality is they rely on a simple sartorial trick to stay polished.
These style savvy moms know the secret to a put-together ensemble is super-accessorizing.
Instead of buying loads of trendy garments, they invest in flattering basics that can be layered into dozens of dramatic looks.
So, how can the average mom create mega style with minimal amount of time?
We recently tapped maternity style guru and author of Bump It Up, Amy Koch, for easy tips on how to use jewelry, scarves and shoes to take your every-day wardrobe from blah to star-worthy.

Add fab footwear to the mix. A chic pair of heels elevates your style — literally! For fall, I’m loving crepe sole wedge oxfords and modified biker boots. Whether you’re a mom or mom-to-be, look for mid-range heels that offer big style and comfort.
Opt for eye-catching necklaces. Strategically layering bold gold pendants and beaded baubles will kick up your basics big time. It can also create an artsy, yet cool point of view.
Bring on the arm candy. Layered bangles or beaded bracelets are a fun touch. Want something more edgy or tough? Try a gold cuff for a more glam feel.
Shine the spotlight on your ear. Put away your studs and fall in love with neck grazing earrings. Here’s why: Longer earrings will make you look instantly longer and leaner. Lightweight, tear drop or open link earrings feel pitch perfect for fall.
Create contrast with a bright scarf. In general, scarves instantly add polish to basics and are excellent layering pieces. What’s hot right now? Color blocking. For example, add a bright pink or orange scarf to a matching gray tee and jeans. Another cool trend is scarves covered with mixed tribal-inspired patterns or animal prints.
