GoCrib: A Lightweight Travel Crib You’ll Love

Courtesy Guava Family

When you and your baby are on the go, the last thing you want is extra baggage.

Yet there are a few accessories (stroller, diaper bag, etc.) that make traveling with your tot a little easier.

However, a crib hardly comes to mind. Until now.

At only 7 lbs. (11 if you include the backpack), GoCrib‘s lightweight crib ($249) is perfect for families on the move.

Without metal or plastic, it quickly inflates into a solid, comfy frame with the help of a dual-action pump.

The celeb fave (Tiffani Thiessen and Samantha Harris are fans) also boasts toxin-free materials, soft edges and breathable mesh sides.

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! We are going on our 3rd trip with this crib and it truly gives me peace of mind knowing that my daughter has a place to sleep no matter what. It’s super easy to carry, assemble and disassemble.

Looks like a great idea, but the net worth is max. 100 bucks. Too much expected for just the brand and the novelty…

But critical eye, Tiffani Thiessen and Samantha Harris are fans. Isn’t that enough to influence your buying decision?

While it looks AWESOME, that’s way too expensive. At that price you could buy them another wood crib for Grandma’s house!!

But what if it deflates on top of the baby and your sleeping and you don’t realize it and the baby suffocates. Not such a good idea not having any other type of support system, then just the inflating.

Pointless and overpriced.

Buy a Peapod for a fraction of the price. Serves the same purpose and has worked well for our two kids.

I have a Peapod and it’s amazing. We’ve taken that thing everywhere!

L, I agree that it’s too expensive and I wouldn’t choose to buy one. But I think the point of its design is that it folds up quite easily for traveling. Grandma’s house would be fine to have a regular crib but maybe someone would want this for traveling to a hotel room or whatnot? I actually read a blog were the woman used it for her 11 month old while her family traveled in an RV.

I do need to by a travel crib, not for our parents….they have one each, but this seems a bit pricey for what it is……

- Jillian on

whoa! quite pricey for a TRAVEL crib! ours was about 1/4 of the price and looks a bit more reliable. maybe it is lightweight, but I think there’s more to a good travel crib.

Seems like you could get the same result with a one-person pop up tent and a pad.

We have a GoCrib and love it. KMC, the deflation concern is totally understandable, but you just have to see the GoCrib and you’ll realize it’s not an issue at all. It’s been designed with multiple safety things to elimiate the suffocation risk. In the end, without the poles and gaps of a traditional crib where your baby can get stuck, the GoCrib actually ends up being the *safer* choice. At least, that’s what we came to realize!

As for the price, well….. yeah, it’s a little more than the Pack-and-Play and definitely more than the Peapod. But we’ve found it to be totally worth it. It’s 1000 times easier and more portable than the Pack and Play. And the Peapod comparison doesn’t really make sense. We have one of those as well, but it’s really just a little bed only, not really a crib. The GoCrib is a legitimate crib. We take it everywhere… grandma’s, beach/river, hotel, camping, tailgating at football game (yes, we’re *those* parents!) Sam, our older, is two now and we leave it set up at home for him to use. He still loves it.

I love the comments on here, but I hate to see folks dismiss this crib on price or safety issues. If you’ve got an REI nearby, go check one out. That’s where we got ours. We sound like a salespeople, but I swear we’re just fans! We love our GoCrib!
