Vera Farmiga and husband Renn Hawkey take their children — daughter Gytta Lubov, 9 months, and son Fynn, 2½ — down to the shore on Thursday in Malibu.

The actress, 38, is currently promoting her directoral debut, Higher Ground, which she was asked to take the reins on just after discovering that she was expecting her second child.

“First trimester of my pregnancy was pre-production of the film. We shot in second trimester, and post-production was in third trimester,” Farmiga tells NPR. “So I was birthing a human, at the same time birthing this film.”

Anon, she named her daughter after her Ukranian roots. That being said, I’m guessing “Gytta” is pronounced “Gitta”, and “Lubov” is pronounced exactly how it looks (it’s also the word for “love” in Russian and Ukranian).

Love this family! She’s a great actress, and her husband is the keyboard player for one of my favorite bands, Deadsy!
