BornFree Debuts Recyclable Bottles

Talk about eco-friendly!

Celebrity favorite BornFree — everyone from Jessica Alba and Matthew McConaughey to Sandra Bullock are fans — recently debuted a collection of plastic bottles that are 100 percent recyclable and BPA-free.

Might seem like a small thing, but for every ton of plastic that is recycled we save the equivalent of two people’s energy use for a year.

Besides being great for the environment, the bottles also feature the BornFree’s innovative venting system which significantly cuts down on colic.

Our faves are the versions decorated with adorable prints (left).

I’m not sure I understand. Are there plastic bottles that can’t be recycled?

how is this good for the environment? is the bottle itself made out of recycled material? i thought it was reduce-reuse-recycle, not produce-produce-produce. guess i was mistaken…

My breasts are recyclable. I used them to nurse each baby. ;)

Sandy, my wife nurses exclusively too, but bottles are still a necessity for families with working parents. While I applaud the fact that you are breastfeeding, there is no need to be uppity about it on a post about bottles… especially since breastfeeding parents use them too!

Thank you Wozzy! Working breastfeeding moms need bottles.

My BF experience was amazing and my child was totally breastfed until weaning herself at 13-14 months. Never used a bottle, even once, and I even taught breast-feeding.

When my granddaughter was born, she had significant liver issues which were made worse by the breastfeeding. After a month of constantly being under the lights, and concern she might need a liver transplant, the doctor decided she needed to be bottle-fed. She finally began to thrive and today does very well.

Her case is very much the exception, but it was not for lack of trying, not because my daughter didn’t know what to do, and not because she had no support.

Many breast-feeding advocates act as if bottles are just dreadful, but sometimes they are a necessity even for the breast-feeding mom who uses bottles while she’s at work, during the night when dad feeds the baby pumped milk, whatever.

These bottles are very nice and it’s great to know the BPA level is non-existent, and they are well vented.

Wozzy, great post!!

Still don’t understand how these bottles are different from others…? And I breastfed both of my kids until 18 months old, but I still had to use bottles for one of them for a while when I worked and pumped. Jeez.

The are eco-friendly because they are made from recycled plastics instead of producing MORE plastic. They are also BPA and Phthalate free.

Relax people, it was a joke!
