Bryce Dallas Howard: Theo Thinks We’re Having a Girl

Bryce Dallas Howard and husband Seth Gabel may not know the sex of their second child, but their 4½-year-old son Theo thinks he does!

“He’s happy [with a brother or a sister], but he’s just convinced it’s a girl,” The Help star, 30, said during a Monday appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

“Someone said, ‘Do you know if it’s a boy or girl?’ and he said, ‘We don’t know yet, but it’s a girl.’”

However, boy or girl, Howard — who is “almost five months” along — admits spoiling of the grandkids by dad Ron Howard is inevitable.

“He’s just hellbent on completely spoiling [Theo]. I think that’s customary for grandparents, but it’s a little aggressive actually,” she laughs.

After growing up with no television and with little access to sweets, Howard jokes the strict rules are now nonexistent when it comes to her son.

“I went over the other day — [Theo] spent the night at my parents’ house — and it was 8:30 in the morning and he was watching cartoons and stuffing his face with Oreos,” she reveals.

Things only went downhill from there, Howard jokes, when Theo began revealing his wild adventures with her director dad.

“He was talking the whole day about how he went skateboarding with Grandad. I didn’t even know that my dad skateboards — and he does!” she says. ”He took him to Venice Beach and went skateboarding with him … he’s 4!”

I know how much Ron Howard has done in Hollywood, but I’ll always love him because he narrated Arrested Development.

My 2 1/2 year old son is also convinced that the baby I’m expecting in a few weeks time is going to be a girl!

Whenever I say ‘but it might be a baby brother’, he gets very cross and says ‘no mummy, it’s a baby sister!’.

I’m so curious to find out whether he’s right or not, as I’ve heard that children can be very intuitive about these things…

My son was 3 when I was pregnant with my last baby. He told me the entire time we were having a girl, and sure enough we did :)

When I was pregnant with my second child, my then 2 1/2 year old daughter kept insisting we were having a girl. She would constantly tell people she was going to have a baby sister. And she was right. :)

My son knew he was having a sister too. I was convinced we were having a boy but he thought it would be a girl. On his 4th bday right after his party we went to an elective ultra sound place and found out he was right, the baby was a little girl!

My little girl also predicted that we were having another little girl. She was very sure about it. She was right.

My best friend and husband were both sure they were having another girl and their daughter kept saying, i can’t wait to meet my brother! Sure enough…..they had a boy! It is funny how little kids know.

My parents will never stop reminding me how they told me that I was going to have a litle brother or sister, but that it was a secret, and the first thing I did was to go out and announce that I was going to have a little brother namned NN. ANd sure enough, I have a little brother named NN, after all, there was no renaming him after six months om me talking about my little brother NN. Luckily he likes his name :)
