It looks like new father Constantine Maroulis is working hard to earn cool parent points.

The American Idol alum — who welcomed daughter Malena, 6½ months, last December — has teamed up with Disney and Fisher Price to help launch Rock Star Mickey.

Available in Sept., the interactive plush toy ($55) sings, plays the guitar and dances — he even does the splits! — while decked out in hip gear and shades.

Taking a break from his lead role in broadway musical Rock of Ages, Maroulis recently shot a commercial with the iconic character, which will air soon.

Give your preschooler a sneak peek of the new rockin’ Mickey at fisher-price.com.

For Neil Patrick Harris, whose twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace just turned 9 months old, being a dad has changed his perspective on life.

“Before babies, I worked very hard to understand my surroundings and figure out where I fit in the world, whether it was at work or in a social situation,” the actor told PEOPLE while promoting The Smurfs on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

“With kids, the rule is that you can’t really do that because they change so much — you just have to go with the flow more and not have any expectations.”

Safe in the Arms of Love: A Book on Bonding with Your Baby

Courtesy Wise Parenting Press

While thinking of her grandson, songwriter Lisa Rafel began crafting new music “that came deeply from my heart,” she told PEOPLE. She decided to share some of her new songs with friends and they encouraged her to record them for people who are nursing and bonding with their new babies. “[They felt] they really brought about a deep sense of peace and calm.”

That reaction led Rafel to pen the book Safe in the Arms of Love: Deeping the Essential Bond With Your Baby, with the help of composer/producer Gary Malkin and clinical psychologist Dr. David Surrenda.

Kate Hudson, Matthew Bellamy Name Son Bingham Hawn

Splash News Online

Drumroll, please.

Kate Hudson and fiancé Matthew Bellamy have chosen a name for their newborn son — and it’s Bingham Hawn Bellamy, nicknamed Bing.

“So happy! Just had a baby boy, Bingham ‘Bing’ Hawn Bellamy. Born 7lb 12oz, on 9th July,” Muse frontman Bellamy, 33, Tweeted Thursday.

“Mum and baby are strong and healthy. Mum was a warrior, Bing popped out after 4.5 hours of intense pushing!”

He adds, “For those wondering, Bingham is my mum’s maiden name and Bing Russell was Kurt’s dad. Family connections all round!”

Bing joins big brother Ryder Russell, 7½, from Hudson’s marriage to rocker Chris Robinson.
