Jenna Fischer: I’m Having a Boy

Appearing on The Tonight Show on Tuesday, Jenna Fischer was asked by host Jay Leno if her parents were thrilled over their first grandchild.

“This is the second grandchild,” The Office star corrected, “but first grandson.”

When Leno jumped on the word grandson, Fischer confirmed that she and husband Lee Kirk are expecting a boy.

“This is the exclusive, Jay,” says Fischer, 37, who stars in the upcoming film A Little Help.

“When I went to my movie premiere the other day a reporter asked me if I knew what I was having, and I said I do, but I’m not sharing that yet because I’m [going to] have Jay be the first to know.”

Fischer, who announced her pregnancy in May, had another scoop: when the baby’s due.

“Late September — we’re in what they call the home stretch,” she says.

Aww!

I had a feeling she was having a boy! I hope they make baby Halpert a boy too, and name him whatever Jenna names him.

She’s going to be such a great mom! and it sounds like baby will be just in time for the season premiere of The Office. can’t wait to find out what she’ll name him. If her sister’s daughter’s name Cecelia Marie is any indicator, it’ll probably be something cute and classic.

I’m watching now…she said she has been feeling good and exercising, but then when talking about hunger she basically said she scarfs spaghetti bolognese and not “salads with vinegarette.” I was wondering why she looked much bigger than me (we are due at the same time) and now I know…

Anne, people just carry differently. Maybe you are much smaller than her? Your looks don’t depend on what you eat. That makes no sense. You can look different based on much you gain. Jenna looks average for 6 months.

I wonder if she has naming rights to this baby on the show and when the baby will be born. I am guessing around thanksgiving.

Congratulations to Jenna! Little boys are wonderful and I wish her the best.

Anne, she may also appear bigger to you because you are two, completely different women and every woman carries differently during pregnancy. Spaghetti has nothing to do with that. Either way, she looks wonderful and I can’t wait to hear what she names her little boy.

Just finished watching her appearance on Leno. (Oh, Jenna, the things I’ll do for you.) She was cute!

Excited that she was having a boy. Was convinced it was a girl, though, but still exciting! I can’t wait to see what she and Lee name the baby.

Also hoping this tips the odds in favor of Baby Halpert #2 being a boy. And I’m also wondering if Jenna will name him after her son, like she did CeCe after her niece.

I was definitely guessing girl – her character Pam threw me off. I agree that Pam and Jim will probably have a boy and name him what she names her own son. So excited for her! She looks beautiful.

I watched, too. Got a little tired of her talking about the need to pee during pregnancy and that us ladies need to tidy up the restroom. Ok, mention it, but half her interview was about pee. I’ve had two kids and have never talked so indepth about the need to pee…I guess national tv is a great place to talk about your baby sitting on your bladder.

I think on the show Jenna should name the baby after Michael! I think that would be a good moment for the show. And it also recagnizes how important Michael was to the show. And I have to say she looks beautiful for 6 months pregnant!
