BumpWatch: Selma Blair’s Puppy Patrol

Matt Smith/Jeff Steinberg/PacificCoastNews

Another dog day afternoon!

Stylish mom-to-be Selma Blair lends a helping hand to the Lange Foundation in Santa Monica, Calif., where the expectant actress took time to walk some rescue dogs on Thursday.

“She feels great. She’s getting very close to the end,” fitness partner — and fellow expectant mama! — Ali Landry tells PEOPLE.

Blair, 38, is due in early July with her first child with designer Jason Bleick.

Yeah, that belly looks looooooow. Good luck, Selma!

I love that this is referred to as “stylish”…..it looks like she’s wearing a Caftan from 1974….or a mumu…terrible! She is usually dressed pretty cute but this is awful in my opinion!

- Amy in Oregon on

She looks beautiful!

It seems Ali Landry is doing more talking about Selma’s pregnancy than Selma is!

- Laura on

The dog is so adorable!

- klutzy_girl on

Add some bengals and red hair and I would swear I was looking at Mrs. Roper!

- cris on

So what’s wrong with wearing a caftan? Lots of designers make them, and they can be stunning, especially when done in silk. Perhaps the fashion hasn’t hit Oregon yet, huh?

- Cat on

How awesome that she is walking rescue dogs. :)

- Ky on

No, Cat, the Caftan “trend” certainly hasn’t hit Oregon. I don’t know that walking around looking like a circus tent will ever become fashionable here…..

cris – I also thought I was having a Mrs. Roper flashback. This is not a good thing.

- Tess on

Mrs. Roper…LOL!
Selma has definitely dropped…any day now–good luck!!

- Sarah S. on

Hahaha Mrs. Roper! That is perfect!

Well, I think that she looks pretty and comfortable. Something like this was all I felt comfortable in when I was 8+ months pregnant. Give her a break. I have liked her breezy, laidback style for her pregnancy. Who wants to stuff themselves like sausages into tight clothing when they are soooo pregnant.

- jeepers on

she didn’t adopt the dog. she volunteers at lange foundation walking and grooming dogs. she’s been volunteering there for years. hopefully those cute little pups got new homes thanks to her bringing awareness to the shelter. I think her caftan look is awesome and comfy.

Mrs. Roper?! That’s priceless!

I remember being pregnant in the summertime and even then, I could never bring myself to wear something like this – mainly because I’d be afraid of tripping and I think it would be cumbersome chasing after my (then) 2 year old.

Shorts and a t-shirt; leggings, gym clothes — didn’t win me any fashion prizes, but I stayed relatively cool and was able to move freely.

- rachel on

Wwow she has dropped, not long to go!

- Rose on

It says “stylish mom to be,” which you can click on. It is not saying she is stylish because of this dress, but bc of her many maternity outfits……which when you click on the words, you will see. So no worries to those who don’t like it…..this article is about the dogs.

- Jillian on

That is one cute dog! As far as Selma’s style goes I personally do not like Selma’s style pregnant or not, just not my taste. I guess in the end all that matters is that she’s comfortable, after all she’s almost due so wearing something practical is important. Anyways, I think she will have a little boy

- Nella on

Mrs Roper all the way, man! I love that 70′s look, and she looks good in it! I would wear that too if I was pregnant :)

- zappo on

She has had the best maternity style. I’m not crazy about this outfit…but this is the only time I’ve said that about her maternity clothes! She always looks so put together and has had a really classy pregnancy style. I do like her sandals, though.

- Jen on

Good grief, people, she’s about to have a baby any day now. As long as she’s comfortable, it should be a non-issue!

- Corrie on

Funny, so many people are mentioning how pregnant she is as an excuse to wear a caftan…I have given birth to 3 children, two were Summer babies (June and August) and never had to resort to wearing a caftan lol…..I agree with previous poster “rachel”….I would definitely be afraid of tripping over that much cloth!
